Should have waited for the Dell U3223QE that came out 2 days ago
Did u test the new dell 3223? It looks amazing!
Is the Asus proart pa279cv as good as this dell ? It's cheaper and seems to me that it's got the same specs
I think all high end monitors should include high refreshrates. It's not just for gaming, it makes such a huge difference in performance in general.
I was actually going to comment this. Especially since the new macbook pros include a 120 hz monitor. I cannot give that feature up! I currently have a 27 inch 1440p monitor, so I'll be waiting a while to upgrade until I find a monitor that fits my needs perfectly!
You're right. It could have at least 90hz.
Unfortunately high refresh rate means sacrificing the color accuracy of the display. Because the combination of the 2 is usually at the cutting edge and most companies can't generate enough demand or price a product that high to justify allocating that much budget on this project of combining the latest in color with the latest in frequency. Reason why for example apple could do it with say the iPad Pro (liquid retina xdr + 120Hz promotion) because they can generate enough demand for the product to justify the ridiculous budget (most of these display companies entire networth) they put on research and developing this product.
I think we are getting there, the issue is the cost. It is possible but it will be significantly more expensive. There is an LG gaming monitor that is 4K with 144hz with slim bezels at 4 sides, but it's only 27 inches. I think there is BenQ gaming monitor that is 32 inches, but not it has more gamery looks. But color accuracy of the box may not be as good unless you have a calibrator.
But there is a growing high end laptops having high refresh. So I guess that will come to desktop monitor and become cheaper.
@@kazilife8059 Ohh, so that's why!. I always wondered...
Searched so many video but, your videos was the Most Curious & your video makes me so happy about the product & also about your creative presentation. Good Luck all the Way !
Thanks for the review! I recently picked up the 43" UltraSharp and I love it! What I love even more is that I got it a week before Dell jacked the price by $500. I was thinking about the Studio Display, but 27" and the lukewarm reviews for $2000+ (CAD) simply doesn't make sense to me. At $1000 less, the U4320Q is just perfect.
Great review! Well written. Balanced and informative. I put this monitor on my shortlist after this review.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it.
I'm like 1 min into the video but I have to admit that the lighting in the video is just amazing 🤩
Just got the same one last week. It’s much better than I thought and the 90W cable is enough to not use battery power on my 14inch MaxBook. That one cable keeps the desk clean. Great video as always 👍🏻
My LG does the same thing at 60W.
Does the monitor also charge the new M1 Max macbook pro?
i was drawn to this channel because of your dell monitor x macbook setup. love to see a new setup soon!
The setup is still very similar, monitor-wise I basically just added another 5 inches lmao
Your tech videos are the best, thank you!
I love how you have nearly the exact same setup as me:
- MacBook Pro 14" standing on rain design mStand
- 32" Monitor held by Fully Jarvis monitor arm
- Apple Keyboard and Trackpad
With the difference that I use the LG 32UL950-W monitor - looks even sleeker IMO since its not branded on the front.
Since your screen is a 4k screen, I worry about how the picture will be sort of grainy on the screen. On what scaling factor do you have it set on your MacBook?
Really good review. I am considering the U3223Q which I think is a successor to this one (which the control joystick).
Same here. I'm torn between the U3223QE (Dell UltraSharp 32 4K USB-C Hub Monitor) and Apple's Studio Display to pair with a Mac Studio. The added real estate of 32" would be nice (currently have a 24" monitor). And saving $700 is nothing to sneeze at.
Then again, the Studio Display's build quality, image sharpness at 5k, auto-adjusted color and brightness, integration with the Mac, speakers, microphone, integrated camera (bad as it is), etc. is also *very* tempting.
I'm sure I'll be happy with either. But I still go back and forth.
The successor was just released, which I ordered today. I think it looks even better!
Been running the same monitor for 18 months now and it’s excellent.
I am very happy with this monitor for a mac - for me, 4K / 32 inch still works at 1:1 scaling, but a word of caution that may not be the case for everyone. My only complaint is lack of a basic inbuilt speaker that would be sufficient for teams / zoom etc
At which distance from the display surface do you sit? 1:1 is readable enough!?
Thanks for the recommendation and for your reviews. I plan to buy another laptop since mine is old. Is there another really good monitor that you would recommend that is cheaper?
Really great content! Keep it up.
Hi Created Tech! Definitely liked your videos! Thank you!
Would you know if Dell's screens (this one and previous ones) have speakers on them? Do I need to buy extra speakers? THX :)
Great Video ! Do you still feel this 32” is still better than perhaps 2/27” Monitors. I am looking to clean up my desk and looking to go down to ONE larger monitor. Would a larger (say 34”) be better?
Just a quick note. I have a Dell 3221Qs and its panel blew out on me. It became washed out a month after I purchased it. I called Dell for a replacement which they agreed to due to their panel replacement policy. But the issue is it has been hard for them to find a replacement monitor for me. It took a couple of months to locate one. When they did it got shipped to their offices and lost and they then had to source a second one for me with another three-week delay. So service and support is a much higher-level issue in my requirements for purchasing Dell. It's to the point now that if I have an issue with a Dell item, I automatically extend the warranty for another cycle at whatever the cost is. That has added another 200 onto my monitor in this case and another $350 to a recent laptop purchase that required a motherboard replacement. There seems to be a quality control issue with Dell now and you should account for that in purchases for the next several years.
The 3221QS is rough connected to the Mac. The white pixel switching on a dark background creating the flashing is ridiculous. Won't ever get another Dell VA panel.
This one looks great. But, can you also review 2022 model, U3223QE?
Great video. How did your MacBook handle a 40 or 49 ultra wide such as a dell 4919. Any issues that you noticed?
Bro, I watched this video and went out an purchased it!! Quick question, how / what's the best color calibration that you did for this monitor? I have a MacBook Air M1 and want to have the best color accuracy with my MacBook. The default Dell Color Profile looks really good already. But don't know if there is a better color profile I should be using.
The best thing for me is it can be used as a usb hub for connecting both my mac and pc.
To be honest this is a good monitor for MacBook I have been using it for around 2 year plus. Since the first gen of MacBook 16 inch. But do be aware that this monitor have backlight bleed. The degree of these issue varies from monitor to monitor. Reaching almost 3 years. The built in USB port spoil. Exchange for a refurbished dell set. And now got a more serious degree of backlight bleed.
But overall this monitor is a very solid piece of hardware for the MacBook as it support 96w usb c charging.
actually can't wait for my U2723QE, with its thin bezels all around it basically looks like a ProDisplay XDR when mounted on a vesa stand :D
I can also vouch for this monitor; it is AMAZING, and the direct USB-C connection will work with your Mac, with a modern Windows laptop with a Thunderbolt port, *and* with your iPad or iPad Pro. Worth every penny. The stand is decent, but I would recommend mounting it on a quality monitor arm.
Hi is this monitor glossy or matte?
I've been using the Dell U2718Q with my M1 Air via an OWC Thunderbolt 3 dock. The U2718Q has been a great monitor but I do like the idea of going to a 32" but haven't out of concern that it would be too big. How far away do you normally sit? I'm using an Ikea countertop based desk so not real deep.
Face is about 2ft away from the monitor. I generally sit pretty close.
Run 2x 32" U3219Q with M1 mini. Could never go back.
I sit around 0.5m from the displays.
I need to check this one out!!
I've been experiencing flickering with my Dell 32" (S3221QS) monitors connected to my M1 Max Macbook Pro.... Looks like there is no solution online; so I may be returning them.
I have the 43” version and I would make sure you don’t have two power sources plugged into your Mac. If you are using usb c to the monitor that is.
@@JustkickinitG Thanks for this! hmmmm I'm using a Caldigit Displayport Pro dock (both monitors into this... and then the dock into my computer)
@@LukeBarousse No worries. I bet that has something to do with it. Could always see if just going straight to monitor via usbc reproduces the flickering or fixes it. If so, it’s probably your dock.
@@JustkickinitG I'm going to try out the monitors straight to usb-c and see if there is a difference... I hope its not the dock😭
I have 2 32"4K Dell monitors....an I love them.!!
Thanks mate, enjoying your content, I have noticed you refer mostly to US dollar and so on and I understand that a lot of your audience is probably US based but don’t forget your Aussie mate’s 👍
Hi @created tech.
I do follow all you suggestions and tips for better Mac experience. I have a question this dell 32" Or 27" One are these good on Mac as well as windows desktop. I have a macbook air m1 and i am planing to buy a windows desktop for more heavy tasks so need a monitor that i could use on both desktop and Mac also. Please suggest.
How is the Thunderbolt routed when you have PD from the monitor? Do you plug the dock into the monitor or do you still plug it into the mac
The biggest weakness of this monitor is black and dark colors especially compared to MacBooks (even 2019 one I have). If you like dark mode and you work often in the evening in dark room, the backlight of this monitor is very noticeable.
the biggest weakness of 32 inch 4k monitors is the horrible pixel density and fuzzy text. So much worse than Retina displays.
I am also using this monitor and something I don't see in the video but what I notice is that my have noticible backlight bleeding near the corners, I see some people also noticinge this The buttons for the menu can be better but on the pluse side it supports ddc, which allow you to controll al finctions of the monitor from your pc/mac via program like ddcutill and the integrated usb swich is super usefull for peple like me which use w separate computers to there work.
Nice monitor. Does it wake up from sleeping mode as fast as the MacBook screen?
have you looked into using any TVs as a monitor for your mac?
Do you have a Star Wars channel? Your voice seems super familiar. Instant sub.
Hi man! Great video once again. Watched the U2720Q numerous times! I doubt between the U2720Q and this U3219Q. I love the bigger size of the 32” but is it better than the U27 or are they equal? I will use it for photo and video editing with my Macbook Pro 2021. I hope you can give me some advice!! Wanna buy one tomorrow. Hope to hear from you asap 🙏🏼
The only major difference is the size, so sounds like the 32” is the best choice for you.
I'm aiming for the Dell U2723QE!
Nice wallpaper, where i can download it
Does anyone know what the best calibration settings are for this monitor. I have this but not sure on best settings for calibration. I am using m1 pro 14 inch MacBook Pro. Thanks
Great video
Nice monitor, I went with the Huawei Mate View 28” monitor, it has a better aspect ratio for having lots of windows open and looks nice, and is a bit smaller so fits in my space well. Also has built in speakers too and USB C support. Working from home it’s nice to have a big screen.
how to order in USA?
Would you recommend the dell g3223q for macbook users? I'm looking for something that i can interchange from my mac to my pc setup i love the U3219Q but i'm also looking for a higher refresh rate.
Which stand are you using for this Dell monitor? I have the 27” version
Do they make a curved equivalent?? I really want a curved screen 😩 (not the 38, way too expensive)
I'm thinking about upgrading my monitor for working from home, currently using a 24" one. Would you recommend going for a 27" or even a 32" considering I spend long hours working? Thanks in advance for any advice!
Base variant of Asus strix g15 vs MBA M1 for programming , which is best option
new U3223QE has higher contrast, is it better in 2022 ?
is the color accuracy of the screen the same as the m1 mac?
My biggest struggle with finding a monitor to replace my iMac, is the brightness. Most of the monitors (including this one!!) just don't have a decent brightness. The only one I have found that comes close is the LG, but that is $1300!!
So true! I have an LG 5K and the brightness is so much better and natural looking than my Dell ultrasharp (even when I max it out).
Yes and the appearance too. I find it crazy that it’s near impossible to find a monitor of the same look and quality as an iMac which is a near 13 year old design??
Does the USB-C support more than 60 FPS?
Have you tried the Huawei Mate view?
where is your desk from?
At 1:10 A big 28 inch panel. What does a small 28 inch panel look like?
Could you please tell me, What is the brand of the electric hub you have in front of your monitor? Thank you.
need one that flips vertical for NFT work and display. that means the bezel has to be the same top, bottom and sides. design matters. NFTs are the becoming huge, so much interest and design work for them.
what office chair are you using at 3:00
The only bad thing is they are expensive so when it seems like someone might be preparing to touch your screen is a bit stressful because no one wants a dead pixel.😀
Do you use downscaling?
What brightness setting do you use this monitor on? This monitor has a 10KHz PWM with a 200Hz wobble, i get eyestrain from mine that gets stronger at night. Do you always use this in a well lit room?
Is this an IPS panel? also needs to be curved and at least 120hz refresh for me to upgrade
Can anyone please confirm, is this ips panel the same as the U3223QE ?
Our supplier says the U2718Q is being discontinued. Do you think there is a successor 4K 27” model coming from Dell? We have this one as our employee option for dual monitor and the U3219Q as the single monitor option right now. Both excellent and work flawlessly with the new Apple Silicon machines our developers and designers have upgraded to.
There's already the U2720Q which is the latest 4K 27" variant. I featured it briefly in this video too.
I am using dual 27” u2720q monitors. What would you say about having a 32inch and a 27”?
Hmm, I’m trying to make a decision over the BenQ PD3220u and this. Why should I get this over that one?
Is there a 24-inch version of this monitor with very similar specs?
Thank you.
Does anyone know how bright is this monitor?
Do you have apple care for your MacBook Pro?
Do you have a link to the colorful background on the 27" as seen at 7:52?
Are there any monitors that have auto brightness the same as on macbook pro?
Are there any Issues with the M1 Prozessor and the Thunderbold connectivity. I‘ve read about that?! And what‘s about the USB Hub? I bought a MacMini and i‘m searching for good Monitor.
Looking on how you work on two windows side by side, you have lots of wasted space at the top and at the bottom. While using Discord or another communicator and having it stretched from the top to bottom to enjoy full vertical space, means looking at the bottom of the monitor all the time (where one inputs the text). Isn't it better to have a narrower screen, but with more space on the sides? Isn't looking left and right less fatiguing than looking downward all the time? What are your feelings after using this monitor for some longer time?
I have 27" 4K monitor connected to Mac and the text are very tiny which forces me to scale the monitor for 1440P resolution. How is 32" 4k monitor handles the text when using the Mac OS? Do you need to adjust the scaling ?
where do u find these wallpapers?
Thanks for a review! I wonder if there is a noticeable PPI difference between 27 and 32 inches?
ofc there is huge difference
You can check it via online ppi calculator
Absolutely there is. I used a 27" 4K monitor, upgraded to a 32" 4K monitor and immediately noticed the difference. It was passable and still usable but my eyes still preferred the 27" 4K. I think if you're coming from a 27" 1440P monitor, you should be fine.
Hi, I’ve been looking to purchase a monitor and at first I came across the Dell U3219Q monitor. It seemed to be a no brainier to purchase at first. However, I’ve also come across another monitor which is the BenQ PD3220U which is also of similar quality. I wanted to ask what your opinions would be.
Check out the eve spectrum 4k
@@Nookie94 but that's 27" and delivery dates are wild.
I've been researching 32" 4K monitors and the BenQ PD3220U appears to be pretty similar to this Dell. Only minor difference is the BenQ has Thunderbolt which allows for daisy-chaining another monitor and a hotkey puck that allows you to change settings quicker. If you don't care for those features, then save yourself some money and go with the Dell. It also depends on what your monitor needs are as there are cheaper 32" 4K options available.
does it turn on the macbook without lifting the lid? just powering on the monitor?
What's the stand for the Dell Ultrasharp U3219Q at 2:57?
Hi, how to safely unplug the monitor from macbook as I unplug it everyday. i'm not sure if i'm unplugging without damaging my macbook, thanks before!
32 or ultrawide. Not sure which one to pick
Outdated comment but i have a dell S2722QC and the buttons are the same, uses the same type c cable (No TBT) and is 4K but is 27". I use it for both doing my hwk and playing on my switch
Been using the U3219Q for several years (got it open box for ~$450!). It's the almost perfect productivity monitor.
Do you recommend this over an ultrawide monitor for productivity?
After using a 5k iMac for the last couple years, I'm wondering if 4k is too few pixels for a screen this size as far as obvious pixelation of text. I have a 27" 4k monitor, and even there the difference between 5k 27" is noticeable
The LG ultrafine 5k and the Pro Display XDR are your only options 😞 welcome back to the land of mortals 🤣
I had the LG 32UN880-B (32" 4K) and I absolutely noticed the difference between that and my 27" 4K. It was still passable but my eyes still preferred the 27" 4K. I think going from a 27" 5K to a 32" 4K is not going to be a good experience.
If you can save up get the XDR standard, VESA with the educational discount, HX ergotron arm (~$5.2k). Trust me you notice the difference between the clarity of the text from 5k to 4k. I had a 24in Dell 4k, 27in Dell 4k, 32in Dell 4k. Then bought the LG 27in 5k and immediately noticed what window users had been missing all along compared to mac users. Like when you put them side to side, you can see the Dell colors and text inferior immediately. The only thing I liked about the 32in Dell was that it had a lot of screen space. So, my next upgrade would be the XDR as it has the best of both worlds; clarity of text and lots of estate. In addition, XDR has deep blacks which are not found in LG 5k. but it cost too much atm $$$ Wished Apple took out an affordable 32inch 6k display like between $2000-$3000 with fewer photography features that most probably do not need.
@@lolfirepoisonftl No it's not. I tried and my eyes rejected it. Bought a 27 inch 4K and that is better. Not as dramatic a difference from my 5K iMac.
@@saadbangash2422 Thank you, that helps. I'm currently debating whether to get Apple's Studio Monitor (5k for $1600) or the U3223QE (Dell UltraSharp 32 4K USB-C Hub Monitor) for $900.
Despite some of the Studio Display's shortcomings, its build quality, 5k image sharpness, auto-adjusted color and brightness, integration with the Mac, speakers, microphone, integrated camera (bad as it is), etc. are very tempting. If it weren't $700 more expensive, the decision would be easier.
I do a lot of photo editing, and ultimately think I'll appreciate the better image quality (sharpness, brightness, etc.) of the Studio Display more than I'll enjoy the extra space on the 32" screen. Oof, the price though.
Please make a video on utm to instal arm windows 11 for free how reliabke it is for gaming
I just bought a U2520D because of the USB-C and QHD, that i tought it would look better than a FHD with my macbook pro. Sadly, 2K's does not Scale and things just look so small. I'm not a big fan of huge screens, so I think I'll just go back to 23 FHD. Since I migrated to macOS graphics became a huge issue. Retinas display makes you very picky about pixels.
What chair is that?
How much AdobeRGB is covered ?
How far from eyes you have the screen?
Dialling back a bit here if you don't mind cos I'm seriously considering the U2720Q which is more than twice that of the S2721QS. As an actual user of the monitor, is the Ultrasharp really superior to Dell's cheaper S models? I am aware of the inclusion of USB-C hub but my main concern is "image retention" as I have come across some negative reviews on reddit. Would be awesome if you could weigh in on the subject. Thanks Mate as always!
I personally haven't used the S2721QS, although I used a U2414H (entry-level U series monitor) for years at my previous job with no issues. My advice for buying monitors for everyone is ALWAYS try to maximize your budget on them. Unlike computers, monitors don't change too much year to year, and you look at it for 8+ hours every day.
I've had no issues with image retention, and I highly recommend USB-C functionality for any monitor you buy (even if not Dell) if you use a laptop.
@@CreatedTech Very good point about the monitor refresh cycles. It's currently a 14 week wait for a fresh new U2720Q according to Dell 😮💨. Thanks Mate as always cos you're the go to guy on this stuff in our Time Zone 🌏
Can I connect USB C-hub monitor with cpu?
Any idea?????
Nice. I bought a LG UltraFine 32UL950-W back in 2020. It's a bit brighter, and has Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. But I think if I had found the Dell first I might have bought it instead because it's significantly cheaper than the LG
Can you tell me if LG is nice? I dont decide yet Dell or LG?
@@aw7ken same question
is this a 8+2 bit or 10 bit panel?
Is it flicker free? Kind on eyes?
I’ve 32inches one, it’s not good for the office works due to its slightly bigger size (not sure about requirements these creative guys have). You’ll likely experience neck pain due to constantly moving across content across its height (width is fine). Rest all is absolutely superb, I’m getting its 27 inches version.
