I got a KSRC001, the thing is a beast and very easily mistaken with the same one you have. Love the set of claws you got there, have the same. They give grip on deep sand like its nothing. However, once the rear sinks in a little, the whole back will just scoop itself through the sand until it sits on the frame i have noticed. But nice video! Keep it up! coming from Dubai! Cheers, Marius
I went to bethels dunes a couple of weeks ago and thought that it would be fun to drive my rc car there, then i got home, went on you tube and found this video. Haha.
Yep i live on the north shore, i will have to get the firestorm out and get it going first. havnt used it for a year. Its fairly modded now, its a bit too powerful and keeps snapping drive shafts since i put in a racing clutch, it might not do that on sand tho. wont be as quick as your baja still lol. I have an old vid up of it doing wheelies when it was nearly new. Its bad quality as it was from a phone.
@zak6272 but if your were looking for something like that then go for the hyper 9. its newer and the engine isnt a bitch to start. my dad and i went through 3 pullstarters then bought some steel chord. snapped that too. used a heat gun to loosen the valves and stuff a little, melted the air filter...twice. then we bought an electric starter(one that you plant it on and push down) for $150 and ive loved it.
Now although I'll always prefer electric powered cars for my own use, this thing does not let itself down at all. Man it's rapid! It would be so easy to drive it out if range in a place like that. do you lock the diff for sand driving?
nice baja good upkeep you handel it wicked to can i say but keep them revs up on deceleration maybey even try more stick into your turns keep them roosters pumpin mate take care
i love your car! also i am after some advice, if you wouldn't mind..... basically i have the standard baja 5b but with the jet pro v3 pipe, what parts would you recommend for me as i would like to improve performance/strength, but also some parts to help it look good (like yours!), do you have any ideas on what i could do?
what engine and pipe is on the blackout? theres a guy on here with a 30.5 fullmod in a blackout and that rips. i think this baja is running trevor simpson /oneill brothers racing now. they are killer..
Ive got a offroad 1/8 kyosho inferno st. That would be really cool to go there. My exams finish in 2 weeks so maybe i can go after that. Im not sure exactly when i can go, but i will let you know if i do end up going some time so maybe we can meet there. Did you drive ur baja up the really steep hills at the end of the dunes?
@nzbaja5bss I just watched the phatdadbaja5t diff build videos, and I see that's just a normal spider gear type diff. I was thinking that you might get more control during wheelies on sand if the diff was locked. You don't really need a diff on sand, and can put more power down. But you will get more understeer though. Just thinkin out loud really. You could refill the diff with heavy oil to get a limited slip effect. Good luck with that beast anyhoo. :¬)
Yes there is only one FLM dogbone when I drive on beach by the sea can be rust no other parts can't get. Thats dunes you saw on UA-cam where I drive far away from beach no rust as all. Cheers
i think the surface makes it harder to move,seems very heavy and grainy. the fullmods and propipe make great power over stock. i think a 9500 clutch spring or tinkle on the lsn would make it jump off the line faster. the maverick would take off better being 4wd.
Sweet as mate. What is the white thing that moves from the bottom of the screen? Insect? Orb? There appears to be a slight black shadow before this in the middle of the screen. Haunted Dunes man lol
Man,i would really like u to answer this for me plz! i have a baja 5b,for like 6 - 7 months,and i was running him only when i got him,and i got bored after,and one of these days i went for a run,and it seems like,when i go full thro,it doesnt go as fast or as...how can i say this,like at full thro,he sounded LOUDER,and now not so loud,and it takes a few secs to get it to "top speed" it wasnt like that at the begining,and no,i dont take so much care of it,wat should i do now? Thank you!
@pantelosta22 I would stay away from the full aluminum for a few reasons. They cost more when bend or worn out, they weigh more, and they will just transfer crash energy to something else. Plaster is much cheaper to replace.
Hey I am wondering what your opinion is on the km 3.0 30.5 cc baja buggy pro aluminum setup vs the hpi baja 5b ss 26cc is the king motors crap if so what else could you recommend btw how do you maintain your rc car is it alot of work love your videos if you have time check out my newest one "Traxxas Slash 4x4 Platinum Snow Park Bashing"
@randomcrap705 Hi, thanks for your positive feedback, I understd KM 3.0 have Alum setup is pretty heavier then HPI 5B. I would prefer HPI Baja 5Bss becos it's original first made before KM. At the moment I running on TS/OBR 27.2cc Full Mod with long rod. Please go have a look my Y/T and type "nzbaja5bss" I looked your Traxxas Slash on Snow!! Very good video!! BTW I have Traxxas Revo 3.3 and Nitro Sport 2.5. I dont used very much due Baja is far lot better. Cheers A
@randomcrap705 i suggest you buy a king motor 30,5cc full aluminum RTR at the price of the HPI ss kit and you will be happy with your purchase,whatever you break,you replace with aftermarket products,as you would normally do on a baja ss anyway. go ahead,choose which chinese RC you want..the "real" one or the "clone"... or maybe another dilemma ,,...the $1000 26cc plastic, 1 gear kit, or the $1050 30,5cc2speed full aluminum RTR. the choice is yours..think!!
@zak6272 it really depends on what you buy. if you go for some chinese remake of a brand then it'll work...briefly though. and then you wont be able to fix it unless the chassis was remotely related to a real brand like hobao or losi of traxxas or the mentals at hpi who built this. and its trophy truck brother. my first was a hobao hyper 7 and it was 4WD. place to start so be asking for money this christmas. it was $400 with an anologue transmitter included by hobao.
Superb video in a fantastic location!
Seeing the rooster tail move along the dunes is quite mesmerising, I have to say!
Love this! OBR is building a sand 5b with the 30.5 Full Race and VRC Pro pipe for me right now. Can't wait to get it!

I love the sound of that pipe, I have one on the way for my 5SC.
Nice machine brother. All 3 of my engines are O.B.R, great engines.
I went to bethels dunes a couple of weeks ago and thought that it would be fun to drive my rc car there, then i got home, went on you tube and found this video. Haha.
I like the way you drive that Ride... Mad skills, that's how you enjoy your Ride! That's how, I show mine LOVE.. Ride on brother...
Thanks, Its 27.2cc Full Mod motor. Now I'm using TS/OBR full mod LR.
that frame looks like it came form a 5T instead of a 5B SS. I have a 5B and I want to do this to my buggy! Awsome buggy man!
BEST VIDEO IN UA-cam BAJA, i wish you will did the same with 320rc obr
Yep i live on the north shore, i will have to get the firestorm out and get it going first. havnt used it for a year. u have this engine running great sounds great cant really say anything else
i cant get enough of the bajas sound u can hear it from miles away
Hope you enjoy with OBR engine for your Baja. Thx

Thanks mate, there is only one is roof guard from 5T. Everything is 5B ss.
Good looking buggy!
looks like so much fun!
@nitrorcfreak100
Its VRC Pro pipe, I get from OBR. Cheers
Now although I'll always prefer electric powered cars for my own use, this thing does not let itself down at all. Man it's rapid! It would be so easy to drive it out if range in a place like that. do you lock the diff for sand driving?
No problem, I have 2 nitro vehicles (monster truck and buggy) looking to get into petrol 1/5th scale RC. Really intersted in the Baja.
nice baja good upkeep you handel it wicked to can i say but keep them revs up on deceleration maybey even try more stick into your turns keep them roosters pumpin mate take care
Awesome! How can you see it when it's 2 kilometers away?
@KezzBTS Thanks mate, There is some more video of Bethells Dunes and please type "nzbaja5bss" Cheers
i love your car! also i am after some advice, if you wouldn't mind..... basically i have the standard baja 5b but with the jet pro v3 pipe, what parts would you recommend for me as i would like to improve performance/strength, but also some parts to help it look good (like yours!), do you have any ideas on what i could do?
Sounds like the spur gear is takin it pretty tough!
what engine and pipe is on the blackout? theres a guy on here with a 30.5 fullmod in a blackout and that rips. i think this baja is running trevor simpson /oneill brothers racing now. they are killer..

Wow!!!! Can you bring your XO-1 on that dunes? Can we race see who will win?

Yes I did put my comment in, I'm been tried to looking for it but couldn't find. Let me know if you found. Thank you for help. Cheers

Daammmm!!! nice ride!
Sweet as mate. What is the white thing that moves from the bottom of the screen? Insect? Orb? There appears to be a slight black shadow before this in the middle of the screen. Haunted Dunes man lol

@IwantAgopro Cheers thanks. Do you have Baja? if so we stall go there.
@pilotplans
There is many aftermarket parts and engine. I do not want know what the cost is. Cheers
These engines stock are not all that wonderful, but yours seems to have been awakened.
@TheRussians120 The HPI Baja 5B is not a 1/4 scale.
if you pause it at exactly 1 minute 57 seconds and a half that is the sickest picture
yeeeeah boi! go the west auckland! haha nice vid man, rep.
@pantelosta22
I would stay away from the full aluminum for a few reasons. They cost more when bend or worn out, they weigh more, and they will just transfer crash energy to something else. Plaster is much cheaper to replace.
Are you live in New Zealand? if yes why not we go there.
@wordreet Thx, I use stock ss diff.
nzbaja5bss how long has this lasted since you've bought it and is it more reliable then nitro?
where did you have your paddles?;)
oh right ok and what about the parts that are made out of steel, doesn't the salt in the sand make it go rusty?
that ob engine sings very nicely at high rpm´s:D

so cool sand field! ;)
AWSOME CAR!
Awesome!
Nice camera save
Thanks, Could you please give me who that person who is stealing my video.
Thanks
very nice video
Very Good!!! Deserve onboard camera!
No wont harm, My Baja had 17/57 gearing to let engine revs quickly in the sand area. Never use tall gearing this will make the engine more drag!
Doesn't the soft sand do the car any harm?
Why not you come to Bethells Dunes to race with me?
I'm with ya on that!! Would much rather hear the buggy running than a bunch of crap music!!!
@randomcrap705 i suggest you buy a king motor 30,5cc full aluminum RTR at the price of the HPI ss kit

or maybe another dilemma ,,...the $1000 26cc plastic, 1 gear kit, or the $1050 30,5cc2speed full aluminum RTR.
the choice is yours..think!!
nice exhaust.
Price???
@zak6272 it really depends on what you buy. if you go for some chinese remake of a brand then it'll work...briefly though. and then you wont be able to fix it unless the chassis was remotely related to a real brand like hobao or losi of traxxas or the mentals at hpi who built this. and its trophy truck brother. my first was a hobao hyper 7 and it was 4WD. place to start so be asking for money this christmas. it was $400 with an anologue transmitter included by hobao.
Thx for positive comment.
Yes Im registered on OzLargeScale.
@chillmecman

good vidéo
يالله انك ترزقني بوحده
@Raydee Its a 1/4 scale motor sorry
