Thank u so much Dr. D. I’m learning so much from you. My doctor says I need a TKR even though he only looked at one x ray from 5 years ago. He thinks it’s an arthritis issue. I want to heal it naturally even though it’s always swollen but not painful. Im doing your steps to help with the cartlidge/ scar tissue. Do u think this will help me save my knee. TY immensely.
Hey Mary! We’re glad to hear that you’re learning from our channel! Sorry to hear about your knee arthritis. Whether or not you can avoid surgery depends on how much motion you have in your knee and how much you can get it to flare down. If you can keep your motion and get the pain and swelling under control then you should have a chance at improving enough to avoid surgery.
I'm trying your way, think it's really good advice. I like the swinging knees and many more. You are very smart. And generous to put you advice on you tube. Would like to try steps to. Hello..I have swelling on the outter knee area on both knees.. fluid was drawn from the left knee and was clear. I just had an mri done. I had no accidents....
Hi Doctor, I recently got problem bin left knee, following your videos and doing all excercises, I don't want to go for replacement or taking medicine ,just wanted to clear all by your advices
Hey Doctor David, love ur videos. It's a breadth of fresh air from the usual online advice. Most of my knee problems, both knees, is at the back where the popliteus muscle is. Very very sore and cannot bend them fully anymore - as in squatting. My legs get very painful at night and I have to get and move around. Any idea why the back of my knees are so stiff and painful ? Would really appreciate ur thoughts on this.
Hi Doctor - thanks for much for your great videos. I am 75 and I had meniscus tear surgery around 4 months ago and then had a ruptured bakers cyst. I still find my knee is really stiff and often swollen - maybe as you say I am trying to do too much exercise, mainly walking, bike and stretches. I will try some of these more gentle ones. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Roksanna! Great question, it's hard to say if the stockings will bother your knee or not. You'll have to try it out and see how you feel. As far as making the knee worse in the long-term, that's not likely with using compression stockings but you'll have to decide for yourself after trying it out.
@@epmanualphysicaltherapy Thank you so much for responding and for good information. I will try and glad to hear that the compression stockings won't further damage my knee. **** I wrongly typed "knee" its "thigh" high compression stockings, does that a difference?
Day 26. Think I overdid it with the tailgate kicks plus some other exercises and I definitely have tendonitis All that swelling is in the front of my knee on the sides not inside. Because the swelling in my knee was more of this morning. Then in the last week. Been taking Advil for 26 days now it's not doing nothing so I'm going to quit. I need doesn't hurt. I was doing the tailgate kicks where my feet touch the ground a little bit of resistance today when I do the tailgate kicks I'll make sure that my feet don't hit the ground. Compression. Elevation and no Advil
Good evening Sir, im from the Philippines i always following your vlog. I want to ask, to what am i going to do because my knee is becoming stiff, as of now i still cannot walk since the time i fell in our stairs . Hppe you can help me to walk again.
Your videos have been invaluable to me with my bad knees. Both knees have had torn meniscus and laparoscopic repairs. Then the arthritis made its appearance. I have been overweight all my life except for once, when I lost all the weight about 4 years ago and was exercising a lot. I had no knee pain or issues at that time. But now I've gained it back and the arthritis is worse than ever. I am sure the weight is about the worse thing for it but it is so difficult to get the weight off. I'm beginning to think that weight loss is of utmost importance in healthy aging for so many reasons and have decided to use your advice in the short term and lose the weight once again, hopefully never to regain. Eating is not worth the pain of this! If only it were easier... I so appreciate your videos. They have made a world of difference, and bring hope where there was only resignation that replacements were not far off. All the best to you!
Hey Diana!!! We're so happy that our videos have been helpful for you! We're glad that you're finding out what you should be focusing on. That is great news for us and it's probably a great feeling for you to know what to do next. Cheers to great heal Diana!!! 🥂🙌

My knee still swells, below the kneecap on the right knee months after the pain is gone and only a slight tingle every once in awhile. I stationary bike and glute 🎉exercises. Tailgate swings everyday. Hip bursitis on the left hip is what bothers me a lot more. Try to do your hip bursitis’s, but back pain, alittle on the left side. What now is what I think! Hi David: Your posts are very relevant, and much appreciated. I am 85 y.o. and in otherwise exc. health. My problem is a bit more complex, but generally similar to above. Broken left femur 1961 (auto crash.) 5 months traction. 1 month phys. therapy. 1.25 inch shortening. Femur bone overlapped. (ie not pinned). Have used built up shoe. Worked well until a year ago! Now, left knee and ankle persistenly swollen. Light pain under rt. side of kneecap. (Eased by shorter pace length, turn left foot out.) I understand your earlier suggestions. any more ideas for generally healthy old pheart? Thanks much: Mike Vidler.
Hello Mike!!! Sorry to hear about your knee and ankle swelling :-( You've got to keep going with the shorter steps and using your glute muscles. Since you have the old femur injury and the shorter leg, you've got little margin for weakness. You'll run into problems very fast compared to most people. Staying strong in the right muscles will be your best natural choice to stay healthy for years to come. Hi Dr. David! I’m in 1 & 1/2 years post TKR! I’ve had swelling, stiffness, & soreness since the day of surgery! Always feeling like I’m going to fall even using a cane 100% of my day, sadly! My knee is hot & so tender to touch! Also, in constant pain , chronic pain & wake up all hours of the night in pain! Is this a sign of implant rejection? Thank you for your help! 💗
Hey there! Sorry to hear that you are having swelling, stiffness, and soreness after your knee replacement :-( Unfortunately, these are all common problems to have after the surgery and are not necessarily a sign of implant rejection. We have a lot of content available for failed knee replacements if you would like to learn more about what you can do to help with it. Here is a link to our playlist: “Failed Knee Replacement Help” ua-cam.com/play/PLJVIPiFvv1maC3n6M0ksF5F17DPDcI98a.html We also have an outstanding failed knee replacement recovery program in case you would be interested in a structured approach to targeting these common issues after a TKR. Here is a link with more information: Failed Knee Replacement Program: The Failed Knee Replacement Recovery Program is a comprehensive program designed to help people with treatment strategies that are effective at helping calm down an irritated knee, then guiding you to treat the root problem that sets up knee arthritis and continues to cause knee pain in a replaced knee joint. This program works even for a revised knee replacement. You will learn: Fast ways to reduce knee pain and swelling so you can quickly get to being able to tolerate sleeping and being on your feet more. How to gain more motion in your knee joint (if you're missing some motion) without forcing yourself to do aggressive, painful stretches. Thorough understanding of the root muscle imbalance so that you can apply the information to your specific life situation. How to get the most out of your replaced knee joint while keeping it healthy for the long-term so that you never have to go back to another knee surgeon. The one thing I worry about is the circulation. Being that blood flow is important for healing, the wrap or a sleeve would minimize blow flow right? And possibly not great because could result in clots happening?

Hi Doc
Not sure why my knee swell up
thank you i love gettung educated,
Great info …. Plse stay with us!!
I have pain used some of your exercise really helps
Wooohoooo!!! We’re so glad these worked for you Mary!!!
I'm trying your way, think it's really good advice. I like the swinging knees and many more. You are very smart. And generous to put you advice on you tube.

Yes I'm listening from South Africa
Hi Doctor - thanks for much for your great videos. I am 75 and I had meniscus tear surgery around 4 months ago and then had a ruptured bakers cyst. I still find my knee is really stiff and often swollen - maybe as you say I am trying to do too much exercise, mainly walking, bike and stretches. I will try some of these more gentle ones. Thanks for sharing.
Hello I can hear you from Wyandotte Michigan
My Dr wants me to wear a knee high compression stockings for varicose veins. I have an injured knee. Is it ok to wear the stockings?
Hey Roksanna! Great question, it's hard to say if the stockings will bother your knee or not. You'll have to try it out and see how you feel. As far as making the knee worse in the long-term, that's not likely with using compression stockings but you'll have to decide for yourself after trying it out.
@@epmanualphysicaltherapy Thank you so much for responding and for good information. I will try and glad to hear that the compression stockings won't further damage my knee. **** I wrongly typed "knee" its "thigh" high compression stockings, does that a difference?
Hi Doc. Can hear you clearly 🤗
Yes, we hear you
You know your stuff! Woweee. And a medical professional who avoids meds?? Impressive. Thank you for your videos. God bless you!
Thx so much for your videos.
Kia Orana from Rarotonga enjoying all the advice❤
Hi Kia! Thank you so much for tuning in and for the kind words! We appreciate you.😃
Good evening Sir, im from the Philippines i always following your vlog.

I wish I could decide what program of yours I should buy . Back hip or knee🙂program!

(Eased by shorter pace length, turn left foot out.)
I understand your earlier suggestions. any more ideas for generally healthy old pheart?
Thanks much: Mike Vidler.
Hello Mike!!! Sorry to hear about your knee and ankle swelling :-(
You've got to keep going with the shorter steps and using your glute muscles. Since you have the old femur injury and the shorter leg, you've got little margin for weakness. You'll run into problems very fast compared to most people. Staying strong in the right muscles will be your best natural choice to stay healthy for years to come. These glute exercises would be a great starting point.

What is the best sleeping position with arthritis of the knees
Hey Grace, This is a great question! One of the best position is to sleep on your side with a pillow between your knees. This is if you do not experience any pain or discomfort in your shoulders or hips. 😃

Hi Dr.
Here is a link to our playlist:
“Failed Knee Replacement Help”

We also have an outstanding failed knee replacement recovery program in case you would be interested in a structured approach to targeting these common issues after a TKR. Here is a link with more information:
Failed Knee Replacement Program:
The Failed Knee Replacement Recovery Program is a comprehensive program designed to help people with treatment strategies that are effective at helping calm down an irritated knee, then guiding you to treat the root problem that sets up knee arthritis and continues to cause knee pain in a replaced knee joint. This program works even for a revised knee replacement. You will learn:
Fast ways to reduce knee pain and swelling so you can quickly get to being able to tolerate sleeping and being on your feet more.

And possibly not great because could result in clots happening?
if you haven't been vaccinated "against" Covid, then don't worry about blood clots
