1:51 If that was inside the knob on a gearstick it would be the ejector seat so hang on to ya hat. Plasma; The new gas axe? Its thirty years since I sold the farm, would that be category 4 couplings?
I'm late to the party, but as you're an experienced Aussie TIG Welder, I'm wondering if this unit would work just in its TIG mode for being a "cheap" option for doing fusion tack welds on 3mm & 5mm mild steel..? (my own experience is only doing "gas welding" work for 50yrs) Currently using Oxy/Acet to do those same fusion tacks, after which all joints get fully brazed using Oxy/LPG... So by what I'm seeing, understanding & hoping, is "this" Bestarc unit could be a "cheap entry level" viable way of doing the fusion tacks & thus eliminate my current need for using Acetylene...would that be a fair assessment??
It's a better Mig welder than a TIG welder. By the time you buy a TIG torch to suit that machine you're probably getting close to the price of just buying a TIG welder, so I would recommend it a good second hand tig welder if you want to save a bit of money. As the high frequency start in a dedicated machine is so much better, particularly for tacking then a scratch tig or lift Tig. As they say I'm not the boss of you and I can't tell you what to do.😁
@@LittleAussieRockets Thanks greatly for the answer & your insight. Your Amazon link showed a Bestarc TIG torch to match the unit at $51, so at just over $300 it was appealing.
Those were some sweet welds on that implement hitch Steve! Going in nice and hot and shiney! I thought that those angled plates were a good idea and clever use of materials. Strengthen everything up in all directions at the same time. Which welder was doing the hitch repairs? Say Cheese! Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
Gr8 vid bro, not commercial but nice home hobby or farm repair type machine, I wonder how it runs off a petrol generator? Could be a great get out of Krapers ditch 😊
The reference to "This old Tony" leads to another channel - Isaac "IC Weld" has been known to repeat "stick always works". I very much enjoyed that lifting hitch repair job. Thanks for the heads up on the Aldi welder, I am barely started with mine but would prefer to learn enough before I burn the ar*e out of it. 🤪
Your welding vids are great .. just stuck my neck out on a unimig razor 230 .. Hows business going hope ur keeping busy .. hi from Canberra keep up the great work

Nice to see you also shop at Aldi. They have some good stuff but stay away from their cutting disc's.
Absolutely love your videos, I like how there educational with a bit of tongue and cheek.
Already looking forward to the next one 👌

That's a test I should do.
Plug it into the generator and see how it works.👍
your videos rock
Thanks mate I appreciate it 😊
Nice work. Are you using a gouging tip of just using a normal plasma cuttin tip on an angle?
Just a normal tip on an angle. I wish I had a gouging tip for that job.

Update on the plasma cutter
nothing really to report other than it's still going.

Hi Mark.
It's going pretty good, getting fairly consistent work each week some weeks busier than others but otherwise can't complain.
Nice job on the stick
That intro is straight out of "This Old Tony.. lol..
I thought I was on his channel for a second
That's a huge compliment.
I certainly am inspired by his videos.
