The makers used the decorative art of a certain countryside region at each episode. The trio of folk art, folk music and folk tales are masterfully combined in the episodes, which have unique imagery, sometimes spicy folk humor in the dialogues. Thanks to the natural presentation of the storytellers, and the music of the Kaláka band, the viewer can experience something unique and special.

I’m gonna talk about it even if noone else seemed to have noticed that the princess exposed everything and more for some pigs if I was her parent there would be a lot of bottom smacking and locking in towers and when she went out a chaperone and some Iron knickers would be handy

These stories put me to sleep because they're very calming. I have trouble sleeping so these are entertaining and soothing.

The meanings are mostly metaphysical and symbolic, modern man has lost the sight to understand them. Originally all folk tales had these ancient messages.
I love these tales in the music I find it very entrancing , And peaceful makes me feel very calm and happy.
Nothing like the time honored traditional tale of "let's rob the rich capitalist and fail to double cross each other"

I just love and adore (j'adore!) the artstyle and how it's stylized the way it just is in general! Yes, animation is on a budget, but I just love its overall flavor and uniqueness!
Very few people know that Hungarian folk tales are very spiritual and the stories are related to the zodiac cycle. They have a very serious philosophical message! These stories are not just fairy tales for children!

Not for children
I love discovering new fairy tales as an adult, but every time I watch similar tales now, I can't stop thinking that they teach children the wrong values and give them the wrong impression of justice. Prince Nick, for example, agrees to save the lives of the dragons and then breaks the contract and kill the poor dragons anyway, and he is also very naive to trust the little man or strangers along the way. Also, it is quite silly to release the moon, stars and the sun without the king or his representative to witness - if it were the real world, the king would have said there is no proof it was Nick who had retrieved them, therefore there is no daugter/kingdom on offer. And, to make matters worse, it's also an incest if Nick was the prince of the same kingdom? :-)
YES, I thought I was the only one who was upset about the dragon thing! Plus it's just bad leadership, you have a FRIGGIN DRAGON saying it will serve your and do anything you want for life, and you just kill him?! You're getting rid of a huge asset! Plus you know you can kill him anyway if he acts up, you've got nothing to lose.
These stories are very old. They were from another time. Another world. They had no TV. No I pads. This was how they entertained each other by candle light. They were stories. Fictional stories.

Marcell Jankovics was the main creator and director of the series, he passed away last year. Over decades he was leading many other famous animated movie projects based on Hungarian and Eurasian mythology and traditions.

The story of The princess , three pigs, and the three birth marks are rude and inappropriate for kids. It teaches bad habits and bad manners, including lying to parents and selling private property in exchange for looking at things a kid should never see. It also teaches girls to underestimate and expose their bodies in exchange for things that are worthless, even if they are dancing pigs. This is the worst story I have ever seen.
I like the Hangarian folk tales but this story was the worst ever.
You need to stop looking at these stories from the perspective of a modern time person. These stories were devised during the time when people had a completely different view of the world, and a completely different moral compass and values. It is to be expected that in the modern world, these stories should be taken lightly, only for entertainment or as part of cultural heritage, and nothing more. Although there are plenty of stories that provide solid advice for life, even according to modern day standards.

When a video is created mainly for children, either it should not contain immoral images or it should advise parents to watch with discretion to avoid disturbing or corrupting innocent children's morality.
