Wonderful video with great footage, great narration and great photographs featuring an awesome camera, stunning country and beautiful dog. Instant subscribe.
Beautiful! Absolutely my kind of esthetic and very similar to what I try to do with my videos. Also love your photos, I really feel how you’re in the moment when shooting. Keep it up!
I absolutely hear what your saying about returning to film. Its a little like, returning home after a long journey. And, wow! what a wonderful companion to spend your time shooing with, he's beautiful. I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel. New Zealand i've never been to, but oh my, it looks to be a little bit of heaven on earth!
You should have 1 million subs... fantastic photo and video work. I really enjoyed the emotion you created in this video, wonderful stuff. Great production value as well. I'm excited to watch more of your content. Cheers.
Mate superb and inspirational video I have been looking for inspiration lately so I might head to the south coast of Sydney this long weekend and see what I can come up with. Thanks again.
Hi Paul, I can't even describe how much I love your videos. I love the way you structured them, and walk through your mental process for each shot. I just started getting back into shooting film landscape recently and your videos and photos are extremely inspiring. I wish there were more channels like yours, please keep up the good work!
Great photos, i love your style. I recently bought an Olympus OM1 to begin my adventure on film. Can you please talk more about your workflow to get the "right" exposure on film in your videos? How do you push the film to 800 ISO?
Thanks Ricardo, I don't do a lot of tutorial stuff, my style is hit and miss and hope it turns out ok LOL. But check this out... ua-cam.com/video/qBgkq1WW_HI/v-deo.html
What a fabulous place. Love the black (volcanic?) sand. The grainy aesthetic of 35mm and the mist suited the shots perfectly. Also, what a beautiful hound. Seems like a common theme (check out Simon Baxter's and Nigel Danson's UA-cam channels as they are photographers with lovely dog "sidekicks").Incidentally, might it be possible for you to put links to locations, please? A couple of our friends have just emigrated from the UK to NZ and we're hoping to get out there to visit them in the next couple of years and having a selection of "known" destinations to visit would save a lot of time.Keep up the great work.
Such a fantastic video. Your dog is awesome. I really enjoyed this video, I love the slow and peaceful music along with the fantastic footage from your drone and camera. The images at the end were stunning, they would look amazing in print form. Excellent job!
Nice video Sir :) & a great companion to go for a photowalk :) I loved the Grass & beach shot :) I wish you had photographed the frame you showed us in the video by timeline 6:35 . Good Luck :)
it`s 1am here in germany, watching your video, enjoying these impressions. thank you for sharing! starting with film too know, thats how I found your channel :)
Man, I love that black sand. I don't think there is anywhere here in the States that you can see that. If I'm wrong, someone tell me. The one of Bae up on the rocks, my favorite picture!! Love the shadows.
Congratulation! Your video is fantastic. The place you have chosen for this video is as spectacular as the beautiful black and white photographs. Many believe that we need to find extraordinarily rich places to get good photos. Instead, as you have shown, often in the ordinariness of the places you can find simple and sweet shots that in the paradox of the thought of others, turn out to be masterpieces. I'm happy to have met your dog. It is very sweet. See you soon and thank you mainly for your time and dedication. From Italy a warm hug and good light.
Hey Paul - I love listening to your voice. It is so relaxing and that beautiful NZ accent. Unfortunately I am surrounded every day be Aussies killing the Queen's English - it is lovely to be reminded of my childhood! Also - great video, keep it up!
Just came across your channel... really great work. The photos on this 16 Frames very inspiring. Can you very kindly tell me what you use to do the frames, is it a lightroom plug in as it really sets out your images well. thanks :)
Haha, Bay yawning at the end: «could we please go now?». Such an incredibly kind dog you have, Paul. As a Hungarian-born I’m always so happy when someone outside of Hungary has got a vizsla, people seem to really love them. Bay seems to be growing fond of photography too, with him staying close to your camera equipment and carefully examiming your M6 ;). Thank you for bringing him on the series, he’s really beautiful and it’s so obvious how smart he must be. As for your video, amazing work as always! Every time you take your Leica to photograph the coast, I feel like I’m there using mine. Each and every picture is unique and special when you only take a few, especially on film. Beautiful shots, and I especially loved the one with the carved tree and the beach grass with the black sand and waves blurred in the background. I could keep watching all your videos on and on.
Paul, I feel calmed after watching that. Simple compositions shot on b&w film, making for a lovely set of images. It looks like you and Bay had a good day. Cheers
So good man!, spend a bit of time out there myself, always nice to see what other photographers can make out of the same location and then also there is the challenge of finding new frames as we revisit etc!
Good evening Paul. Only, just found Your Site. Some, lovely Shots of N.Z. Which, part are you actually from? I'm, from Wales " Cymru " .So, we have quite a lot in common. Photography and Rugby! Always, wanted to visit New Zealand, only problem is the actual Cost. Still, perhaps we can communicate through our Passion for both Photography, and Rugby. " Hywl am y tro " Bye, for now. Many thanks and Kind regards Colyn. P.s. Great Dog.
Hi Samuel, thankyou! I'm using LC29 that's about all I can get here in NZ, my scanner is a Cannon 9000F MK2. My dilution was 1:29 and I developed for 17mins. I have noticed a marked improvement with Delta 400 since I started being a lot more gentle with my inversions. Thanks for watching!
Paul where are you ❓haven't seen a video in awhile. I was just wondering what breed is your canine❓and.... What is your favorite Leica and what do you prefer medium format or 35 mm thanks for your response hope all is well 🙂

@nd or 3rd viewing. There's nothing like wandering with both dog and a Leica. Small camera, precise and so joyful to work. Love the photos! Bravo!
