If you watch the behind the scenes stuff, the cast added in that the reason everything is so bad in this first episode is that everyone is dealing with the death of Alex. The writers wanted to show just how important he'd been to the Rocinante as like a... "morale officer." Alex was the one that fed everyone, kept things calm, and worked as an intermediary when there were disputes. His absence starts making them unravel.
Laconia is the planet you saw Cortazar on in the season 5 finale. It's where Sauvaterre was going before his ship got eaten while going through the ring.
I hate the Laconia segments before each episode, and skipped them on my second viewing of S6, and that made it a better season for me... I don't know how other people felt about it, but too me of felt like a YT fan series in it's writing, acting, and lack of overall quality.
@@TerminatorJuice The only reason it makes sense to include them, in the context of the full 9 books, is if they plan to do the rest of the series (somehow), as that story is *very* important of what is going on in the final "trilogy".
@@shauntrek IMO, that could have easily covered that in the first half of an episode, if they were going to do more seasons to finish up the final trilogy.
@@TerminatorJuice Didn't see any drop of quality beyond normal child acting. It was tonally inconsistent though and seems an odd decision given the structure of the final season.
Both so excited and sad that you’re on the final season as I love your reactions to this show. Glad you’ve found the extras 😁- this season is great even being just 6 episodes.
Love your post-ep review/discussion. It's always so fun hearing your thoughts, because you think of shows/characters the same way I do :) kinda like they're "my boy, my girl, my queen;" it's just so fun seeing other people have the same brainwaves as me 😆🤣
The final season despite being only six episodes does a good job representing book 6 the real changes needed were only needed because of the loss of Alex but Alex is not forgotten you also learn more about the back stories of people in the show.
Great reaction ladies! Drummer is in a polygamous belter marriage with the members of her crew. Serge (who Marco spaced), Oksana & Bertold (the two who left last season), Michio, and Josep are her husbands and wives. And yes she was and is very much still in love with Naomi. It's heavily implied to me at least, that they were more than friends back then. I can't wait to hear all your thoughts on this final season, it remains one of the best. In a series full of best seasons!
Like everyone else, I am both very excited & very sad that we are here at season 6! - only sad because I only have the next few episodes to watch you experience this show & all its highs & lows for the first time. As we see at the start of the episode, A story is also developing on the planet “Laconia” that we get to see brief glimpses of at the start of the episode… we have seen references to this planet at the end of last season…. Keep in mind, It’s also where the Barkieth & the other rouge martian ships were heading at the end of the last season 😉 looking forward to wrapping up this amazing show with both of you! Let’s go!
Well here we are! The last season of this masterpiece! Great reaction ladies as always! The war these past six months as taken a major toll on our crew! I really like that the writers used the death of Alex to loom over the crew. It's gonna take a lot fir Naomi and Holden to except Peaches into their family. It looks like Filip is losing his way! I personally think that the weight of what he has done is starting to bother him quite a bit! Looking forward to the next one!
The final season. 😢 Each of the other episodes begin like this in on Laconia. I think they do a good job of conveying that all "our" people are exhausted, sad, and in need of a morale boost. Strap in! I'm looking forward to watching you see what happens.
I love how Josep was the first to lose faith in drummer, but he has come to see it as his duty to be her anchor person, even if he disagrees with her decisions.
It's funny how my mind conflict stuff that happens in season 6 and what happens in the last 3 books. I think it's because I remember the stuff from Laconia... man it would have made amazing seasons.
If you remember from earlier seasons, when the Roci went into combat, or if they even suspected there might be combat, everyone would get into spacesuits, put their helmets on, and that way if something hit them and pierced the hull, they wouldn't be exposed to vacuum and die. At the start of this episode they aren't bothering to do that anymore. They're either too tired, or they just no longer care. Morale is low.
It sucks it basically feels like it was cancelled too early. They literally introduced like 3 major story lines that didn't get wrapped up or went anywhere. Then I realized there's still multiple books left that'll never be adapted (i think 2 or 3?) Feels bad. Sci-fi is my favorite genre but they just can't stay on the air for very long.
3 Books, as well as a short Novella set after the last book. Idk if they would adapt that, but I mean all the Laconia stuff with the child and the repair drones was part of the Novella Strange Dogs.
@@Etruscan_Goddess Dang I would ask you what happens and how it all ends, but that'd be hella spoilers so I'll avoid it. Hopefully I can remember this comment once they finish and come back.
While season six is the final season it’s not the end of the story as there are three books left to adapt so there is no reason to wrap everything up though they did wrap off the story so far as it happens in the books. Rumor has it they. may start up again in a few months. Here’s hoping.🎉
At this time (in the books) billions are already dead on earth (asteroid impacts and famine) and millions in the belt are dying due to the lack of food supply from earth. It seems Marco doesn't care for his people .
12:30. Laconia is a separate planet and let’s just say the Martian separatists do some crazy shit in Laconia in the last 3 books. Read the books! Although I wasn’t the biggest fan of the ending of book 9.
I feel like so many people keep glossing over what Filip has actually done. He killed a full crew of innocent scientists, killed his crewmate, killed MILLIONS of civilians, coerces women into sex, killed his friend for nothing. If that was a random person and not Naomi's son it would be so far beyond any sort of redemption.
@@zvimur well he's the one who has to deal with Filip shooting a guy, then Marco's betrayal of Ceres, and ultimately cooperation with the Inners, so his role is similar to Show Nico Sanjrani (with a side of helping Holden from behind the scenes during negotiations)
They should have sidelined the Alex character so an older actor could be cast for the final 3 books if they ever produce them. They shut the door on that possibility.
@@billross7245 its cus there was a whole season planned still before they were to shut down. It'd be very hard to sideline alex building to the peak conflict with the belt
I don't want to watch this reaction, because that'll mean there are only 5 reactions left for me to watch... And after this show, there isn't another show that I love that Lola and Milena haven't already reacted to or watched on their own. : (
Will You be watching Cyberpunk: Edgerunners? It's definitely much better than Rings of Power, and a few Attack on Titan actors voice characters there too
"This is what I imagine Hell looks like." I agree, yet remarkable similar to how Christians describe Heaven "in the heavens forever worshipping the dear leader"
I can't stand how self-righteous and holier-than-thou Naomi is. About everything. All the time. Alex died saving HER from HER crap that she never considered the crew about. Trying to see her mass-murdering, evil kid.
