I really love this mode but I do love rogue lite games. From playing over 12 hours of it and already maxing the event this is my guidance. Houndsmen are by far the easiest way to win however I've also won with Reaper Orochi Zweihander Marksman Rattan pikes Imp musket Imp shields Imp pikes You can basically win with any unit, it's all about knowing the best units/upgrades to take in game. Frontline - Most frontline units are garbage, PG are the best by far and shields ok if you really need something but never take blue units, Imp pikes or MAA from the ai Mid line - Never take javs - the rest are decent. Flames - they can be good but only take them if you also have longbows/are a hero like LS that can block infront of them. Backline - Never take shenji - they don't have the range to hit enemy back line Always always take longbows if you get the option, both enemy and your longbows have a targeted ai where they will always shoot flames first, then falco, then they'll hit frontline so longbows are the best thing as you can counter enemy specials. Namkhan are great, falco are op and schutzdiners can be very good too. The game is kind of RNG but knowing the above, you win almost every time. After the first hour or two or trying stuff I was winning every single game. Sometimes you need to run forward to aggro their range but most of the time I can just afk with hero and watch the units fight
Healy archers have a bugged blessing that allows a permanent healing effect, the +6% healing one(op) Shenji are actually very good because one of their blessings makes them give +100% dmg taken debuff (incredible), and another allows them to hit 14 enemies in one shot (mid) And mushas are just bad too
My problem with shenji is they don't have the range to shoot enemy back line so if you run out of units and only have shenji left, they will sit there dying to enemy range :D Musha can be good with upgrades but zwei/reaper are far better ofc @@TrollingWendigo
What you said is true, but shenjis with blessing help to clear front and middle rank effectively twice as fast, which allows you own melee and ranged units clean up faster. Paired with 9x shot falco it clears everything in literally seconds
What i found worked well was having shields with hp in front and falconettii gunners in the backline. With those i have 8x shells and 60% more dmg and 30% accuracy and 2% more dmg stacks 25 times i can afk everything :)
So far i am on 1200 score and what i figured out is that falcos with all those rounds are op af but the problem is each time you to to 10/10 round they have them with same buff and its no1 target to kill. Spawned units: Zweihanders are a beast if you have 10% heal on middle line +5 wild attacks they do. Healing archers with 40% backline attack speed is great for keeping your front line alive. Palace guards deal good dmg when they hit 4 targets at once Iron reapers are good when they destroy shields on every attack. If you play rattan marksmen -pair them with namkan archers +4 shots+backline attack speed for super fast bleed+posion spread. Men at arms are tanky with 25% hp drain. oni mushas are total trash ,i dont play javelins or imperial pikes. Build your front line to be strong and keep your ranged to basics(healing archers and 40% attack speed buff) if you play blood hounds. If you play rattans build your back line strong and use other units as cannon fodder ,especially if you get early falcos. If you can take zweihanders or iron reapers but be aware on it own they wont do much without buffs for middle line.
Buffed Zweihanders/Onnamusha if you are lucky, with Schwitzernoodles healing, and an ok front line with Houndsmen do it for me every time. I think falcos are a bit of a trap because while devastating, if they are targeted, they're done. Just go with perks that strip enemy defense and damage in between prioritizing onna and zweis and I think you have it every time. BUT that's not to say try other stuff! Mode's very diverse and fun!
shortbow with your poison build easy to kill hero you take legend units and buff for them 1 shield unit and elite pikemen and focus hero from start easy
I could be wrong but I don't believe extending the range of the houndsmen beyond 5 is possible. I originally tried a hybrid build on them that got their range to 85 on paper but they wouldn't shoot farther than their original stats would let them. Range extension on them is completely bugged.
Just see how easy to devs maje a new style of buffs to units with like in this mode good mode, need high luck, like you said, gunner with their buff make it a lot easier.
Vassal Longbows works much better than any other unit to kill enemy backline, i always end up going all the way up to round 9 even with the really bad RNG. I wish this mode was not PvE, i would rather playing this mode against other players, even the ppl that doesnt plays conqueror's blade would start the game just to play a medieval TFT game lol
I hope this game mode stays permanently, I really enjoy it even though it is PVE. All they need to do is to change maybe the perks, the rewards, or the fighting arena from season to season.
First mode they added where I said: Wow, this is already really fun and has great potential! I hope they expand it, it's gonna be a big succes if done well

I mean if you have 9x falco you can literally play any board and still win. Those things are op :D

Oh God those doctrines, omg those units are stacked, first time i see units like that.
I think it would be actually pretty cool to have the talents you get move over to siege or if there was a new perk selection when you level up
