When I was a kid, my brother and I found a crane game in a local restaurant. We asked our father for a quarter to play. He decided to teach us a lesson on the dangers of gambling by offering a deal. If we won the crane game on the quarter he gave us, he would give us money to play crane games any time we wanted for the rest of our lives. If we didn't win, we could never ask again, no matter what. I can see what he was going for now that I'm older, but I still think its hilarious how hard it backfired. Our weird plush vampire doll is a constant reminder about how gambling is awesome and has no repercussions.
sorry to break it to you but that wasn't your father "teaching" you anything. He'd just hoped you'd lose that first try (considering how hard it is to win) and he'd have an excuse to not let you play it again. If there was a lesson to be learned about gambling, he'd let you lose, then continue letting you lose. While at the same time the quarters are coming from your allowance. Or something.
ClayMason bro, I’m sure he knows that, & he was clearly being anecdotal and joking around. Who do you think you’re informing here? You’re just as bad as the person who explains a joke...
Well I'm in England, reading a comment on an American site from an English guy about some people from L.A remotely playing a crane game in Japan. For 26 minutes. mental
This is the cutest thing ever? When Elyse was trying to get the Toy Story alien and everyone was so excited behind her?? That is the kind of quality content I subbed here for lemme tell u
This video is 6 months old, it's 1 in the morning, and I clapped in the air above my head, did a double-fist point to the sky, and shouted "WOO!" when the Hello Kitty squatty potty went in the hole. If I didn't live away from my immediate family, I'm sure I would be disowned.
In normal arcades in America, the hook is programmed to have grip strength after a certain number of attempts, depending on the value of the prizes. So like if a prize is worth maybe ten bucks, the machine will grip once you've spent twenty or thirty.
GamesAndSuch so he needs to live in Asia to criticize a crane game that is very clearly designed to be rigged and living in Asia does not change that?????????????!!!
Yea cause the very clear design flaws and limitations (that are there on purpose) are just a misunderstanding on my part. IF they wanted to make this reasonable the crane would have the power to actually lift the object, you shouldn't be using a "nudge it over multiple tries" strategy when they claim you can lift the fucker in one go if your skilled enough. Also the fucking hook cant actually hook anything since its given such a harsh slope that the weak ass crane will give out and drop the object before it can reasonably be lifted. Its a scam and it is rigged.
I know you guys said you wanted to focus on more highly produced and engaging content, but if you could just turn your channel into Japanese based crane game videos, that would be great.
Being in Japan, I absolutely love these crane games. A few things to note: go into it with the mindset that you will not get your prize on the first try. Rather, find somethimg you like and agree to a price you are willing to spend for it. Then the rest is understanding the strategy with nudging objects. Good to remember that the hook of the crane will go out as far as the straight downward-angle of the arm. Since these crane games usually have special one off toys and prizes, they are great for getting rare stuff. My son loves Kamen Rider Build and the recent crane games have a ton of those character goods (especially the Fullbottles). I once spent 4,000yen just to get my son a Build figure. . .
No worries Twinsinner! Glad more people see my comment. If the crane game world werent so saturated, i would have considered making a few videos with how it is in Japan.
On the one hand, this was amazingly entertaining to watch. On the other hand, it led me to go to that website and spend $10 trying to win a sexy anime boy figure. This worked so well as advertising that I'm angry.
I'm asking for proof that Toreba requested it. All you've told me is that AH and FH obscured it, you've given me no evidence that that decision came from Toreba.
Nope. But I am a rational person who expects people who make claims to back them up with proof when requested. Otherwise said claims shouldn't be taken seriously.
TransToast Well I make about £0 an hour so that's a lot of the worlds population I couldn't watch so that's not the reason. The stress of them nearly winning was what is too much for me.
well it's gambling, of couse you can lose more then you earn that is the concept behind it....you could however get things cheaper every now and then, rng isn't uncommon
Its literally a crane game. Everyone and their moms knows this. This is why they didnt try hooking any items directly but rather pushing the items slowly.
Tony Ravioli the children who might be swayed to try this after seeing a channel they love absolutely need to be reminded of this. Why are you attacking people acknowledging how illegitimate this is? It’s pathetic.
Lawrence's legs are majestic. He is the complete package and our one true savior. He alone will make 2018 a great year, nay the greatest year. Please make love to me, Lawrence.
TermaRoboZillaMan private psychic practice. Open your chakras, take a ton of LSD, then read some books on philosophy and game theory. From there, you can charge 80 an hour or more to shuffle some cards and tell someone about the problems they've obviously have because they're at a psychic.
If you're in the US do one term in any branch of the military. You'll get "free" college + you'll increase your chances of being hired if you decide the military isn't the thing for you.
Almost every amusement park/boardwalk/carnival game is rigged. While these seem less about putting enough money in until the claw is "strong", there is no way anyone can win these on their first try. The claw is too weak to actually pick up the items, so you end up doing what they did and spending a ton of credits to move the prize slowly. Nobody should play this expecting to get items lower than their actual price, but paying for some enjoyment/thrill.
Its cause they don't know the tricks to it, each type of these crane games have a strategy to win it. They're all first time players including the viewers so of course they would look like its rigged/stuck when its actually not.
You have to wait for other people to set it up for you to swoop in and get the prize when they give up. I have won three things in the past month without paying a single dime just using the free play a day thing they had going on
Nobody talking about how they go for trying to win a jacket. Elyse gets up and puts on the same jacket. They then go for a blanket so she gets up and puts on the same blanket. Then screams how much she wants that blanket.
They need to do this again or make a series where James "sneaks" in games of toreba without the other members knowing and then has to open his boxes without anyone noticing.
So I downloaded this app after seeing the guys play it. Was using my 5 free tries, won an anime figure.....I’m hooked. Honestly just watching people try and win is the most tense and enthralling viewing experience.
SouthEastBoredom Not only that, but youre using an American website to watch them win their own merch back, which will now be shipped back to them from Japan. What a world lol.
I imagine that all of these machines are in one large building, with one guy for maintenance (resetting the machines, etc) sitting around all day freaking out endlessly at all of the stuff going on around him.
dnallot not a scam. But the amount u put in offsets the ease compared to American crane games. You can easily win more than you spend if you snipe the prize after other people's attempts, but that's how they make money
I just thought about it, and came to the conclusion that if Funhaus continued to make content with same same gang 30 years later (as old smelly geezers) I would still watch it with the same anticipation and joy. That's really saying something. Love you people.
I live in Japan. Consider myself a crane game savant. It is a slippery slope. I mean, the repercussions are the bank coming to take everything you own.
Thank you for sharing that, I actually found that to be very wholesome.
I remember wining a ipod 4 when my dad game me a quarter. Short story is that i still have it and use it today for gba emulators
sorry to break it to you but that wasn't your father "teaching" you anything. Doug Green ooh well played
Not to mention they’re playing a crane game to win merchandise they themselves produced
Welcome to the future
I'm in Scotland, I scrolled down looking for something like this haha
*This gave my anxiety anxiety*
Telic holy shit mine too Lol
Shit, watcha doing her mane? Wassup!
PEWDS GUY!
I was cheering out load at work!
I never had a gambling problem but after watching them I do now.
YOU CAN WIN A REAL CAR
*20CM in measurement*
**Points at watering-can and potted plant**
"Look, a beautiful tea set!"
200mm
I love how Lawrence just wants anime figures without knowing what anime they're from. As long as they exist, he wants them.
Panzer Man COMMENT SHOW READY
I think he knows where there from but just wont say.
thats true all encompassing love right there.
You think the QUINTESSENTIAL GAMER doesn't know where they're from? Fool.
I guarantee he knows what they're from.
I’m upset. Elyse deserved that alien I’m fighting
She did! Aww poor Elyse.
It broke physics
This is the cutest thing ever? When Elyse was trying to get the Toy Story alien and everyone was so excited behind her?? That is the kind of quality content I subbed here for lemme tell u
Your question marks give me anxiety.
She's cute and I was sad she didnt think to knock the legs down :( Was easy win.
I have NEVER seen James this animated before.
GIMME THAT TOILET
ManlyPelican lol seriously
What about the Sex Swing animated series? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Sponsored content. They gotta play it up a little. Still, a funny video. I just hope no one spends money on this. Cranes games are the worst.
ManlyPelican her name is Lawrence
"Guys thats not a toilet" -Elyse Willems 1986-2018 may she rest in peace.
Thats not old
It's old for a woman. If anime has taught me anything, it's that no women are older than 12, unless they're old grandmas.
"She's not dead, she's right there". Bruce Greene
I lol'ed out of bed. Idk why it's funny yeah but I should know better.
Enthused Norseman if you follow anime they I guess you like little girls and insects, 31 aint old.
The Toy Story alien part actually upset me. I wanted them to get it so badly
There goes Benson's chew toy
I still have half the video left and you just broke my heart.
They could've just get the Crane to push down on the feet and the alien would've fallen so easily
Lmao the best thing they won is their own merchandise.
It is STUPID how much I enjoyed this
James: "I wanna win that bath stool."
Elyse: "I don't want any more stools in my bathroom."
Poop joke of the century.
THIS IS THE PINNACLE OF HUMAN ENTERTAINMENT
"so these jackets got sent to japan?! and if we win 'em they're gonna come back?!" hahahahaha
"I don't want anymore stools in my bath"
Another gem from Elyse.
Holy shit I just got the pun there. It probably wasn't intentional but she's so witty it's altogether possible
When they win it and high five each other, the dismay in Elyse's face AS she high fives them... I am glad she exists.
I love how the crane is designed with 0 pushing power and no actual hooking ability
ImmoralJester yep rigged
In normal arcades in America, the hook is programmed to have grip strength after a certain number of attempts, depending on the value of the prizes. So like if a prize is worth maybe ten bucks, the machine will grip once you've spent twenty or thirty.

@@iamcool544 And I love it because there's cool shit there.
I would have never expected them to play this but I'm super pumped they did!
"would have"
They need a chat feature so you can abuse the person playing
Money
I've never seen three guys get so excited over a stuffed alien before
2017: loot box controversies
2018: Japanese crane game controversies
yeah not gambling at all
kids would hate this
Fucking surprise mechanics
2019: loot box controversies
I know you guys said you wanted to focus on more highly produced and engaging content, but if you could just turn your channel into Japanese based crane game videos, that would be great.
Brew512 You just gave Lawrence an idea for a third channel, besides this one & his Twitch one
The Quintessential Craner?
Something about the idea of the Funhaus crew investing so much time to win their OWN MERCH is truly hilarious
yeh investing so much time with free credits on stuff thats free for free advertisment for toreba which earned them over $15k in ad revenue alone
THIS SHOULD NOT BE THIS ENTERTAINING
Being in Japan, I absolutely love these crane games. A few things to note: go into it with the mindset that you will not get your prize on the first try. Rather, find somethimg you like and agree to a price you are willing to spend for it. Then the rest is understanding the strategy with nudging objects. Pheran Sadly no. I am not an English teacher. But thanks for the comment.
Thankyou! That's the mentality people need to have with these. People calling it a scam just aren't understanding how it works.
No worries Twinsinner! Glad more people see my comment. If the crane game world werent so saturated, i would have considered making a few videos with how it is in Japan.
Wonder why they sponsored funhaus, Lawrence would've ended up forcing them to play it one day for free.
On the one hand, this was amazingly entertaining to watch.
On the other hand, it led me to go to that website and spend $10 trying to win a sexy anime boy figure. This worked so well as advertising that I'm angry.
Sammie1053 lol same but I spent $20 and all I wanted was an anime towel
At least y'all only spent a couple bucks- i ended up dropping $60 (CAD) because this sort of thing preys on my weak will and loose wallet ;___;
At least you guys had money to spend ; _ ;
What anime boy?
All I wanted was a splatoon blanket
James’ excitement when Elyse is trying to win that alien is contagious 😂
Angela Stevens he's doing the plank!
This is hands down the best sponsored video I've seen, you got me on the edge since the beginning. Nice!
I was smiling throughout the entire ending of that video
I need to stay far, far, FAR away from this game.
NNator dude I’m already 300 bucks in and all I got was a plush cat... save yourself
I feel you man. This is true addiction. :P
Jesus.. i'm only 40 bucks in and got the blanket, a t-shirt, a flask and a keychain.
Sage Michelle ...owch
19:57 Owen Wilson
This is the kind of sponsored content I can get behind!
Fun fact: If you're sponsored by crane game toreba they make you block out how many credits you have and use.
Proof?
HappyTimeHollis you ask for proof? the webcam video covers the credits. in AHs video they blur it. what more proof do u need.
I'm asking for proof that Toreba requested it. All you've told me is that AH and FH obscured it, you've given me no evidence that that decision came from Toreba.
Why the hell would they obscure? The only reason they'd obscure it is if they told them to. Are you a toreba rep or something?
Nope. But I am a rational person who expects people who make claims to back them up with proof when requested. Otherwise said claims shouldn't be taken seriously.
Any time i see Lawrence in a video on the weekend, it almost always has to do with a Japanese game.
Currently there are 100 plus people viewing the Toreba crane game for the Funhaus flask... Wow!
No, just no. This is basically giving me a heart attack. I can't watch this but I will.
You cant watch someone make more money a minute then you do an hour?
TransToast Well I make about £0 an hour so that's a lot of the worlds population I couldn't watch so that's not the reason. The stress of them nearly winning was what is too much for me.
Akalion I thought it was obvious what I was saying but I guess you have to point it out for people like that person 😂😂😂
TransToast Yes, because economy is funny.
I honestly didn't understand the joke.
TransToast I don't think you know how jokes work.
This is more intense than playing Yu-Gi-Oh and PUBG at the same time.
It's way more fun to watch when I'm not the one wasting money on the cranes
Ain't that always the way
We need funhaus to go bankrupt playing this, this is a christmas miracle
6:17 "Uwaarghargy" - Bruce Greene 2018
They probably spent 20 dollars for a 2 $ toilet stool
Dylan Kincaid do you know what the principle is?
TheAznZeus I like your profile picture
Propaganda Gerbil I'm indifferent of yours
TheAznZeus Ouch. Just take the compliment, damn.
thats what makes claw machines wonderful
Did they just use $20 worth of "credits" to try and get a $5 stool?
Mister Fish Logic behind all these crane games
"$5"
Because they were sponsored, they probably got to play for free.
the other $15 is to cover the "free shipping"
well it's gambling, of couse you can lose more then you earn that is the concept behind it....you could however get things cheaper every now and then, rng isn't uncommon
This is kind of a dodgy sponsor but damn the video was good!
20:10
"I don't see myself winning " -Elyse Willems
Don't fall for this, how fun it even looks. The cranes strength changes from attempt to attempt depending on how much money put in to the machine
Thats how all crane machines work
Angles and maths prove stronger than the cranes strength
That's how American crane machines work, Japanese ones work on a different principle. Ryan and Jack explain it well on the AH video.
It’s pathetic.
wanting to hit the crane machine in anger but then realizing its your monitor
is there a fucking 5lbs weight in the head of that alien? xd
HOW THE FUCK A REMOTE CRANE "GAMEPLAY" GOT SO ENTRETAINING??? IDK BUT I LOVE IT❤️❤️❤️
I could watch them do this for hours!
"I don't want any more stools in my bathroom!" Jesus, she is funny.
Lawrence's legs are majestic. He is the complete package and our one true savior. He alone will make 2018 a great year, nay the greatest year. Please make love to me, Lawrence.
Yay! Sexual harassment but reversed gender roles so it's okay (maybe)!
I was with you until you said make love to me
All ex fat people have juicy calves #fact
oh it cant be me who cant stand lawrence most the time?
u wot?
Elyse using the items they're trying to get from the machine as props, is amazing
Idk how I’m going to pay for college I’m so afraid

loot box IRL simulator
no wait you can win
what a twist
They already made irl loot boxes. They are called blind boxes.
Great UA-cam profile pic x
I cannot recall a video, where Funhaus was so much into a game, that they barely made any jokes.
Very entertaining still.
I got more excited watching this than mcgreggor v mayweather which isnt really hard to do , but either keep fucking playing this shit its awesome.
Exo Dus lol the fight wasn't that bad. But you can't beat the intensity of a crane game
The original loot box system.
Soooooo, how much was spent on getting all of this fine merchandise?
In case you are still wondering about 380 odd USD.
I don't know how I could possibly be entertained by watching someone play a crane game online, but I guess that goes to show how great Funhaus is.
This video just makes the entire thing seem like an impossible scam.
There are times where they absolutely got stuff perfect and still didn't do shit
So its a crane game? You can go through TOM and get free plays every friday for a game like this. Its the only way its worth it.
Raze, really? Every friday? It said something about getting free plays only on the 20th and 10th
You have to wait for other people to set it up for you to swoop in and get the prize when they give up. I have won three things in the past month without paying a single dime just using the free play a day thing they had going on
I love how Funhaus has resorted to videos about their gambling addictions.
Elyse 2018 “They put the feature in the game for a reason”
The new "Like Skyrim with guns"
I never thought the most compelling gameplay I've ever witnessed would be a virtual, real world claw machine simulator game (?). Brilliant!!!
1:26 "I feel like people are gonna be super systematic about this"
Proceeds to be super systematic about it
Nobody talking about how they go for trying to win a jacket. Elyse gets up and puts on the same jacket. They then go for a blanket so she gets up and puts on the same blanket. Then screams how much she wants that blanket.
Lawrence is literally the physical manifestation of my anxiety in this video.
Just watching him stress out is causing me to stress out. 😅
Seriously this needs to be a monthly if not weekly segment. I'm sure it'll cost way more to make then you'd receive but I'd watch the hell out of it!
Great Android 18 cosplay, Elyse
They need to do this again or make a series where James "sneaks" in games of toreba without the other members knowing and then has to open his boxes without anyone noticing.
I am so conflicted it's take my money and play crane game or take it and toss into a fire. First world problems such a stressful life i live.
Please make this a Series/Mini-Series. I legit love this and everyone seemed so into it.
This is the quality content I subscribed for
I don't think the four of them have ever thought or tried this hard at anything ever. Bravo.
SEEMS LIKE GAMBLING TO ME.
So I downloaded this app after seeing the guys play it. Was using my 5 free tries, won an anime figure.....I’m hooked. Honestly just watching people try and win is the most tense and enthralling viewing experience.
Toy Story alien + Japan ...something seems familiar...
21:36 "I see it. Every day I see it." is so funny to me for some reason.
This is amazing.
I couldn't handle the intensity of how close Elyse came to winning the alien. I need more videos like this
I Live in Australia. I am watching people In America, Play a game that is taking Place in Japan in real Life / real-time.
SouthEastBoredom
Not only that, but youre using an American website to watch them win their own merch back, which will now be shipped back to them from Japan. What a world lol.
James is normally always so critical of Elyse, I like seeing him being supportive of her for a change.
“I don’t want anymore stools in my bathroom”
Dastardly Dylan I honestly didn’t get it initially. My god that was good.
Even Toreba gives better loot crates than major game devs. This is so refreshing and intense to watch! I wanna see more of this soon!
I imagine that all of these machines are in one large building, with one guy for maintenance (resetting the machines, etc) sitting around all day freaking out endlessly at all of the stuff going on around him.
Feels like a scam
Noooooo, really?
dnallot not a scam. But the amount u put in offsets the ease compared to American crane games. You can easily win more than you spend if you snipe the prize after other people's attempts, but that's how they make money
Its a crane game. All arcade/carnival games are "Scams".
@@FreshAsianSwagg Good scams though, because you're seeing it with your eyes, microtransactions though, THAT'S the true big scam.
As someone who has been to Japan and spent way to much money on crane games, this gave me back that rush that I’ve longed for for so long.
Bruce was in a PewDiePie video for spending $35 at McDonalds and instagramming it...
Berke Beidler link?
That was like a month ago
It was today dude xD
...so?
Well I've seen it before. So either that's a reupload or he used the same thing in two videos.
I just thought about it, and came to the conclusion that if Funhaus continued to make content with same same gang 30 years later (as old smelly geezers) I would still watch it with the same anticipation and joy. That's really saying something. Love you people.
Holy shit this looks so fun. This is dangerous
1,000 credits is $1, and almost all the games cost 1,500 or more. I blew through $10 in like three minutes or less.
Favourite moment is Lawrence to Elyse: "it's perfect, you're perfect"
Don't fall for it guys
Tom Smchole Eyy, it's a pun because... the... things... drop. No? Ok then.
+Robert Tucker nah cause it's an ad and they most likely spent way more then the items Were worth
At least they aren't AAA 60$ videogames with microtransactions.
Tom Smchole I know, it was a jo...
Nevermind
Robert Tucker lol ^
12:37 one of James funniest and most under appreciated jokes. Makes me die every time
I’m conflicted cuz this is pretty much gambling for kids...
anonymous Just like all other crane games, really.
I live in Japan. Consider myself a crane game savant. It is a slippery slope. They showcased how much you can spend and how when you are close to winning, you just can't walk away (people waiting for you to leave, or it looking close to going in). Careful guys. They are totally fun, but can get quite expensive ;)
I love how fuckin rigged it is
Biiiiit of an overreaction there..
Watching this made me break my arena streak in MCOC. It's so.... mesmerizing to watch.
"Phil, my favorite" Something noone has ever said
I prefer phil over dan
The end is like papa Bruce opening Christmas gits with all his funhaus children
So it's like Amazon but you might not even get the thing you paid for
Might get anxiety or a heart attack, maybe a gambling addiction?
It does feel like choosing the mystery box as opposed to the 10000$ or the car, Bob.
