I loved your commentary. :D A lot of people don't know this, but Junsu started doing musicals partially because no one dared to work with JYJ after SM's ban, although he'd gotten musical offers while in TVXQ (SM denied them, of course). Musicals were very hostile towards idols back then because they were seen as 'lesser than'. Even though Junsu got many great reviews from his first musical in 2010 (he played Mozart in Mozart! iirc), it was very difficult for him to establish himself as a "musical actor" rather than just "an idol attempting musicals." Nowadays, he's made such a name for himself through musicals like Dracula, Elizabeth, Excalibur, etc, that the so-called "Junsu effect" was the exponential growth of the Korean musical theatre industry from his debut year. And that's just part of his SOLO achievements! Lol. He's truly a legend. Again, thanks for reacting to him!

He was one of the very few who had a spine enough to work with JYJ/Junsu/Jaejoong, probably he could relate to them as he was also witch-hunted - because people didn't believe that he graduated from Stanford in the short amount of time that he did. Not only did he feature, but he also showed up to do the rap at one of Junsu's concerts. Some others who worked with them were Gummy, BewhY, and PSY - Psy handpicked Junsu for a song dedicated to a friend who was a rock legend, after watching him in musical Death Note, saying that he had spent months looking for someone who could express that sadness.

This song was written and composed by himself. Although Junsu doesn't do composing stuff that much lately, he is really good at that. And you were right when you asked "is it about SM". Yes, it was. The 3 people who throw the mask are symbolizing JYJ. The lyrics were about them, SM and the entertainment industury. The interesting thing about Junsu's music is that his influencing from his musical acting career. That's why his music is a lot different from the other kpop songs. Even though there are many idols who is also doing musicals, none of them are as passionate as Junsu for musicals. Junsu gave his everthing to musicals when he was blacklisted from all the TV shows, awards and in other many areas. He has been doing musicals for about 14 years and he is a CEO of a musical company now. That's why, when analyzing Junsu's songs and mvs you have to know which character he played at that time or which musical influenced him lately. If you know that you can see the details better. And for JYJ's music, all the 3 members had a different music styles. Junsu was a dramatic singer/dancer, Jaejoong was a rocker and Yoochun was a pop-ballad type. JYJ's music was also good but i prefer Jaejoong and Junsu's solo stuff more. They're doing more interesting things as solo. If you want to check out JYJ's music i recommend you their last album Just Us. The b-sides are even better than the tittle track.

you should check out jaejoong’s (another jyj member) solo mv for mine. It’s also about his time in SM. After they left SM they got more creative freedom to really express themselves. Most idols don’t get this opportunity
