Download the NEW ALBUM for FREE at www.CryonautMus... This tune sprung to life when I discovered Logic Pro's chord trigger feature, allowing me to play a full chord by pressing just one key. The four chord sequence that became the foundation of this track became easy to pull together when I only had to plunk around with single keys. It's doubtful I would have stumbled upon this sequence by playing full chords at random (as I'm not much of a keyboardist). Anyway, it came together fairly naturally after that, and I had some fun with the key change near the two thirds mark. This track is also the first I'd done that uses sounds from Omnisphere 2, an incredible software synth that rivals anything out there for sheer variety and quality of sounds.
Fun fact: this tune had been sitting, 98% complete, on a hard drive for about 6 months while I renovated my new studio and upgraded to a Mac Pro. Part of me wished that I had pushed it through before construction began, but in the end I'm glad I waited. I've now got proper acoustic treatment to my studio, and that translates to better quality mixing and mastering, and ultimately a better final product. Anyway, I hope you like it!
