This remains one of my best Kalafina concerts in my view! The costuming, their voices, their great expression in so many songs (one of the most expressive I've ever seen), the camera work (including the use of focus racking). This is one concert live worth owning I feel. Wakana's start was just like Keiko's slowed-down acappella start to "Hallelujah" at Budokan that we all love. Acappella and acoustic arrangements tends to really showcase the vocals of any act, since they're not competing with the amplified heavier instruments. *Highlights for me*: 0:11 Wakana's start (lots of reverb to create that hall-filling effect). A few extra breaths taken. 0:59 Tempo picking up and Keiko coming in. Melancholy duo. 1:26 Hikaru with her nasal tone up to 1:50 where she held a 4-second note, foreshadowing the longer one later. 2:22 Hikaru and Keiko duet. 2:31 Nice handover from Hikaru + Keiko to Wakana + Hikaru. Seamless transition! That takes skill and lots of practice! 2:34 Keiko coming in strong with dynamic swells, for a brief solo. 3:23 - 3:33 Hikaru's 11-second held note after a slight breath. And she maintains the strength off the tone all through. The best among the three of them at this. 3:46 Wakana returning to the start then with Keiko joining in. A contemplative song.
My friend i see you everywhere and i love all your analysis!! It giving me, as a non musician, better understanding about the song and performance! Thanks❣
They each have such a distinct voice and yet fit so seamlessly together.
True
Their harmonies just... *SHIVERS with joy*
I wish they would sing this song again, like this version :')
Live

@@meli3593Thank you! ❤❤❤
3:23 It was actually more like 9 seconds for the long now from Hikaru. I may have counted a little too fast, though she could do 11 seconds no doubt.
That contralto voice of Keiko is so marvelous.
3:03 IS IT HUMAN POSSIBLE TO HIT THIS ALTO NOTE SO HIGH STRONG RIGHT AFTER SINGING SO LOW???? Fuckk damn talent
This could be a lullaby ;)
Maravilhoso, Saudades Kalafina
This version Is the best 🐈♥️
They are so good live. I have chills.
I love this version
There is no other voice like that of Wakana.
this is so angelic
holy shit
Anyone knows the name of this live performance (or what year it was?)
Kalafina After Eden live 2011
