So beautiful! Such beautiful messages. I, in my late 60's have been racing against the clock to create something significant. But Rochelle is right! I think its time for me to settle into who I am as an artist and let go of who I am not. Just let my work feed my soul. Thank you Zsofin, this was beautiful
I look forward to every film that Zsofin has made. This one on Rochelle’s ceramics speaks to me in volumes. Well done Zsofin as well as Rochelle . To both artists I love your works. Claudie
I'm 68 and just now coming back to ceramics as my artwork. Of all of my craft pursuits throughout my life, making pottery is probably the most grounding.
Loved this video….and her story. So honest and humble. About the origin of her craft….just holding that cup in a shop half way around the world to her exquisite pottery. It’s a testament to how our lives can unfold in ways we never imagined. She didn’t grow up thinking “I’m going to be a potter”🦋
I've only just recently started ceramics, and she describes exactly how I feel, down to me going to the beach and photographing seaweed. Thank you so much for this, I can share with others to explain the significance of handmade art in changing the world for the better
When she's talking about that little cup I can completely relate because that tactile sensation and relation to the earth and culture and pottery and nourishment from whats in the cup is culminating all in that single moment of looking at the cup. I feel it in my soul. Oh and i am a potter so the added benefit of making that cup and all the wonderful sessions including in manifestation of that.
The most human form of inspiration I have ever listened to.... could we hear more from this wonderful artist soon.... Thank you for your time and wisdom.. Martin P..
I have also had a really profound moment while holding a piece of pottery. My first pottery teacher seemingly casually handed me one of her pots and my world went silent and still while I connected to the meaning in the little, non descript, bowl I held. I understood it was her masterwork fully realized and when I expressed that to her, she just smiled at me and said that she knew I would understand. That moment has also informed my work since.
Thank you Zsofin, for crafting such a beautiful celebration of this truly gifted artist! I love how your gentle, thoughtful pace is in step with how Rochelle guides us into the heart of her own creative process. From her exquisite porcelain works to heart-stopping photographic captures, Rochelle's "emotional investment" is a gift to all of us who resonate with her appreciation for beauty and the natural world. Bravo to you both!!
So happy I watched your story. It is a beautiful story, so inspiring. As I'm watching you work, I realize I have a piece that looks like yours. I stop mid video and check it out and sure enough it is one of yours. I love my piece and now it is even more special to me.
i would love to live in a community like that, surrounded by nature and like minded community....i'm guessing it's very unaffordable now, unless you've been there for decades. where is a natural setting where younger artists can go that is still affordable I wonder?

Thank you so much for sharing this poignant, meaningful message. It's helped me to focus back onto the initial reason why I'm doing ceramics.

Excellent capture of one of Hornby's valued artists. Rochelle's work is so captivating and so is she. Thanks, Szofin for creating this :)
