    Hi do you put water inside the pitchers of sarracenia? Thanks

      Only for purpureas, generally recommended to not put water in any other type of sarracenia.

    Hi Brad, hope all is well. I'd love to hear about your nepenthes and how they are doing now? Have you ever thought about growing amrophophallus? They like the same conditions as nepenthes and make good greenhouse neighbors to them and hoyas.

    hey brad been a long time fallower, I had a bit of tragedy with my Sarracenia this year. My wife and I bough a new house and the moving process took me a lot longer to move my plants to our new house. I was able to leave my greenhouse set up at my mother's house but everything got allot dryer then I've ever let them before (been growing in greenhouse about 4-5 years now). my Oreophila's, Purpurea's and Judith Hindle, fly traps. and Cobra lily's all seem fine, thankfully. I've moved everything to the new house, and got them all soaking again for about a month. Unfortunately my Minors are dried right out and molding along with some Purpurea crosses, and some other hybrids I'm not sure what they are.
    Any tips? should I try to peal off the dried dead pitchers to try to stop the mold or just let it do its thing? I'm pretty sure I saw some growth tips in April but its cooled down the last couple weeks here and everything is slowed down again. Some of my sundews are just starting to come out along with a Pinguicula I've had for a couple years.
    I'm in Vancouver think its been a bit slower start to spring here then where your at.

    It looks lovely. So many lovely pitchers. I like the idea of using white plastic for the tables. That's cheaper than pond liner and looks better. How is it holding up? I may have to look into that.

    I have a few Nepenthes plants and they have nice pitchers on them. My question is, When I cut an old pitcher off will the leaf produce another pitcher from that leaf?

    • @ScaryFear
      @ScaryFear 3 роки тому

      No, it's one pitcher per leaf. But it will make new leafs with baby pitchers that will grow bigger. Pitchers naturally die over time and once they dry up best to cut them off at the base.
