It's interesting how so many people go so wrapped up in the need for "spontaneity" and as it dissipates over time because you and your partner are more comfortable with each other. When the comfortablity can be a sign of a healthy relationship. Where you need to be careful is not getting so comfortable that you take each other granted. Which is where good communication and planning come into play.
People often comment on how things were so much "easier" in the beginning. But, they weren't. If anything, they were harder. But, you're so emotionally high on dopamine and serotonin that you don't care about the extra effort you have to put in.
So you have to schedule dates and $ex. You had to do that at the start of the relationship, too. The amount of time you're involved with someone doesn't mean you put in less effort. You just adjust how you apply that effort.
Thank you for reflecting on the importance of making time for each other, healthy communication inside and outside the bedroom, listing to your partner, and respecting boundaries. An open or closed relationship doesn't mean the fundamental guidelines for a healthy relationship change.
