1-5 floors: oh sightly harder emeines no big deal. 6-9: WHAT they have Tanky villagers that can poison you, WHAT they have those rare powerful monster as regular emeines,wait.....OH MY GOD THEY HAVE BOTH THE RED AND BLUE DRAGONS, FUCK THIS SHIT I'm OUT. Grima: hey this dungeon gives me an backstory and good ties to awakening. DAMN YOU INTELLIGENT SYSTEM!!!!
Honestly the thing that bothered me the most were the regular zombies that could double me for 29 damage per strike. I was on floor 9 and lost Celica to it. Still haven't gone back to Thabes since, and don't plan to tbh. I'd rather miss out on one floor of a cheap dungeon than spend another hour wasting my time just to die to that zombie again. I know I sound bitter, but I honestly felt like I needed the leveling dlcs and extended promotions to be able to tackle floor 9.
0:17 one of the best moments in all of FE tbh, just finishing up the game, going through everything the game had to offer, and just seeing that is glorious
Background Lore on Thabes and Act 6: Spoilers will be noted before being said End Credit Picture after you beat the Main Story. Mila's tree, you see it in Awakening (a lovely map and setting). Although the name is after Mila it could very well be that Duma is also sleeping under that tree since Mila's head was in Duma's tower and Duma himself was Sealed NOT destroyed. Medeus was not killed by Falchion, but sealed by Marth and Mila and Duma were sealed and sent into sleep as well. (I could be wrong) This wont be the only reference to Awakening. The Furia Port here is alluded to in this game as where the kingdom of Ferox which we see in Awakening was started by it's first Khan/Ruler. It's a place home to barbarians (the kind we slaughtered along Anri's way in New Mystery of the Emblem). Not much else is told about this kingdom. So we return to Thabes which we have visited before if you played Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and/or New Mystery. In New Mystery it's populated by Barbarians and Wyverns/Dragons. In Shadow Dragon Gharnef made his power base here with Marth's Elder Sister Elice being held prisoner here. It was stated to have been built by an ancient civilization long ago and was a stop along Anri's way (The first hero to defeat Medeus that wasnt Naga and he was Marth's ancestor). Spoilers (will be told in full after the end of Thabes Labryinth) So this ancient civilization might actually be the capital of the ***** dragons as it's stated here that **** was buried here. Given that we know that "that" is also here as well the implication that he isn't an ***** dragon but a **** ****** dragon makes it the first time in the series that a ****** dragon was an antagonist which is pretty cool. Also we learn backstory which is pretty cool. also note in Thabes Labyrinth the tablets you read throughout show that the "thing" mentioned only began speaking dark evil thoughts AFTER it was given human blood. And the Ending cutscene after the main story the Narrator's point of Mankind's evil, it just points out that at the end of the day dragons, fallen gods, mankind is its own worse enemy.
Wow, I didn't realize that we fought Gharnef in Thabes (I remember it from Anri's way). Fascinating, as is your analysis, at least the paragraph about the dragons (I'm pretty sure I know what you're getting at). Don't know how I feel about the backstory in general though
Towards the end of Thabes was anyone freaked out about the new types of enemies. I mean it's dark, ruined, and then those things with their creepy voices, it was the first legit time in my enjoyment of Fire emblem over the years that I was scared.
soullordT8 first time I did it, I entered floor 7 and a female villager jumped me from behind and scared the fuck out of me. The voice clips for the female ones are spooky af compared to the male ones for w/e reason
I wish Act 6 was explained at all in terms of story. But no let's just have the new king and queen of Valentina be escorts for some Archanean merchant.
I'm fairly sure it's non canon that Alm and the crew actually went to Thabes. The lore inside Thabes is canon clearly, but Alm being there is non canonical as it doesn't make sense for the boss of the dungeon to have interacted with Alm and shit.
Actually the game doesn't acknowledge that you defeated Duma in terms of the story which shows because you can go back and defeat him again if you want and then it rolls the credits again just like what happens in Awakening with Grima, but at the end of the day Alm and Co. going to Thabes isn't canon.
If it were canon, the best explanation could possibly relate to rebuild Rigel and Zofia. They needed to first re-establish their economy to help their people, rebuild whatever may have been damaged during the war, paying workers, etc. Alm caught wind of the riches Thabes held, so he brought Celica and 8 of their best soldiers with them. Then they accidentally saved the world for 1000 years, whoops.
My thoughts during chap 6. Seas: okay pretty tough First levels of labyrinth: it eased up a bit... Next few levels: Lots and lots spectres Farther in: Whet the hell are these? Near the end : Nonoonononono NO! I don't wanna die here *sob* Completion: How the hell did I pull that off first try...?
drakelord56 I went in once, realized there were multiple floors, ran out, grinded, came back, got to floor 6 before losing Alm, so I had to restart it, then on floor 8 I had to go to sleep because of Finals, and forgot about the bookmark feature. Then on my third attempt, I just ran past every battle until the end right
Knowing that my units are nowhere near the Gods that Ghasts' are I still feel salty that Ghast was able to get through on the first try. Took me forever to learn that the flyers don't attack if you move your army towards the dragons.
At first I didn't realize you were the same guy that did that big Celica retrospective video. I appreciated that. Even though I've only played the original Gaiden (plus Path of Radiance), Celica was wicked fun to play as. Would've been great if she'd been among the 8-bit babes from my youth like Peach and Samus, but at least now Celica's getting recognition.
While I loved that we get to see grown-up Alm and Celica on the title screen once we beat the game, I kind of miss having the kids there. Also, the music on the title screen gets me so much that I have to get into game quickly or I might cry...
Tfw Ghast is incredibly overleveled and has his ubergrinded Mycen that can basically solo the game when your best unit was level 15 Alm and the rest couldn't survive more than 1-2 rounds of combat Also you missed some stuff at the entrance to Furia Harbor, and plz watch those Memory Prisms
PunkDisciple23 i overgrinded everyone and well....the pain is there but is a lot less then before...(how much did i grind? i have like 6 fucking star jacinth and my characters crit like crazy)
Yeah, I'm saying for people who haven't intentionally grinded out levels for their characters and have progressed through the game normally. Of course the dragons won't be a problem if you have spent hours doing DLC runs for experience and shards.
The stupid thing is that many of my characters that i dlc trained for a bit started suffering in the 7-8 floor so even with the power of dlc this can be painful
I feel like chapter 6 was kind of a missed opportunity. They could have easily added some dialogue talking about the dragons attacking you and about how you must stop Grima.
Ghast is really trying die here, that place is no joke (well, the first time, at least.) Go pass Level 5 of Thabes fresh from Duma, and you'll probably be forced to play Echoes like it's Metal Gear (No problem since you have Liquid Cobra!) Good luck, but you're Ghast...
Ah the post-game dungeon, also known to some as Hell. For what it is, it's a fine post-game but what brings it down is the lack of a proper reward and the reward you do get isn't all that worth it after completing this.
Has anyone tried leveling up their characters to max before promoting them to get as many stats as possible. And if so has it helped in regards to beating Thabes or making it any less painful?
I have in my second and third playthrough, Act 4 and 1. It makes the villagers very OP at the start, with 80-100 total rating. I'd think it'd help with Thabes, but I'm not sure, since I'm not at that point.
i have. i make every1 lvl 20 before promoting. i beat it without extra grinding. my faye was lvl 13 when i beat it (didnt get anew). just make sure you bring in the right classes.
i missed all of the damn rusted weapons and only got the rusted ring cause I was so scared of dying most of my units couldn't handle a dragon so I just rushed most of it
yeah act 6 pulls off the baboo gloves, hope you are ready to grind a bit cos you will get fucked up >:) (also place ur bets guys, will ghast find astra luna or sol in thabes first try)
Nuibaba ヌイババ It wouldn't be far fetched tho. I mean canonically this happens but it doesn't happen at the same time. We already got the character ending and the 3 Pegasus sisters shouldn't be with Alm any longer, they have no reason to be with him.
:O nOOOOO not those three! Go to the Dragon Shrine, which is on the top-right of Zofia. There is a spring of revival there that will revive dead characters. There's another one somewhere else, but I don't remember where.
typically a dead character still shows up in the roster just available. thats what happened to faye at least but not with those 3. can they still be revived?
Echoes gives the best reward for beating the main story of any game I've ever played.
More boat maps
Honestly, the first five floors of Thabes weren't too bad. The minute you drop into Floor 6 is when the hell begins.
GoldenCyclone4 Who knew a Rusted Sword could be so deadly?
Tetanus, man.
AT THE END OF THABES DON'T FORGET TO PICK UP THE MEMORY PRISM. I fOrGoT and haD To do the WholE dongeOn agAIN
Exactly what I thought when I found out.
WhY aRe YoU tAlKiNg LiKe GoOrOn?
Welp, time to redo it, though it wasn't hard in the first place.
0:17 one of the best moments in all of FE tbh, just finishing up the game, going through everything the game had to offer, and just seeing that is glorious

thabes tower is where marth fights gharnef in fe1
All the way to Archanea
and still no sign of Anna
She's busy making a killing in fates......don't hurt me
Ghast is in for a... rude Awakening
Level 6 is no joke, that's For(neus) sure.
And on this day, Ghast received a Grim(a) reminder.
Act 6 aka Hell.
esco Tanner that is true
So god damn true
esco Tanner Hell doesn't begin to describe it.
how about abyess of pain
Towards the end of Thabes was anyone freaked out about the new types of enemies. I mean it's dark, ruined, and then those things with their creepy voices, it was the first legit time in my enjoyment of Fire emblem over the years that I was scared.
tru! they did a really good job with this game i think :))
The music added onto the terror. I didn't think much of it in Fear Mountain Shrine, but damn I was on edge the entire time floors 6-10
soullordT8 first time I did it, I entered floor 7 and a female villager jumped me from behind and scared the fuck out of me. The voice clips for the female ones are spooky af compared to the male ones for w/e reason
I wish Act 6 was explained at all in terms of story. But no let's just have the new king and queen of Valentina be escorts for some Archanean merchant.
Understandably they didn't want to risk fucking it up.
I'm fairly sure it's non canon that Alm and the crew actually went to Thabes. The lore inside Thabes is canon clearly, but Alm being there is non canonical as it doesn't make sense for the boss of the dungeon to have interacted with Alm and shit.

wait you can kill duma again? cool! cant wait to grind the shit out of that lol
Next few levels: Lots and lots spectres
Farther in: Whet the hell are these?
Near the end : Nonoonononono NO! I don't wanna die here *sob*
Completion: How the hell did I pull that off first try...?
drakelord56 took me exactly 17 tries
drakelord56 I went in once, realized there were multiple floors, ran out, grinded, came back, got to floor 6 before losing Alm, so I had to restart it, then on floor 8 I had to go to sleep because of Finals, and forgot about the bookmark feature. Then on my third attempt, I just ran past every battle until the end right
I grind each floor then evacuate and start over so I don't lose progress.
Act 6, AKA "we've run out of our voice acting budget"
Don't say that, Alm got two lines!
AND Celica, too!
And he still hasn't watched the memory prisms... >_
Knowing that my units are nowhere near the Gods that Ghasts' are I still feel salty that Ghast was able to get through on the first try. Took me forever to learn that the flyers don't attack if you move your army towards the dragons.
The map song is so much nostalgia for me.
* watches part 63 *
the new opening sequence is going to kill him.
* watches part 64 *
called it.
your 10 floors of hell begins wait for the dragons shadow weapons vine weapons and more
At first I didn't realize you were the same guy that did that big Celica retrospective video. I appreciated that. Alm: what's waiting or us down here?
Ghast: Cash money, that's what!
Me: and a pretty good and surprising tie-in.
Ghast after you beat all the boat maps you are going to face one of the hardest and longest dungeon in the game.
Will you show Celica's ultimate art? It's from the beloved Zofia
24:40 you can see a few frames of what ghast has on his desktop shortly after
Stan The Great Man BIGLES
It would be even more awesome if you could visit Archanea like it was Kanto.
Cyrus K I wouldn't mind visiting Marth.
While I loved that we get to see grown-up Alm and Celica on the title screen once we beat the game, I kind of miss having the kids there. Also, the music on the title screen gets me so much that I have to get into game quickly or I might cry...
The kids sometimes show up.
I have a life, trust me

ITS REALLY YOU
Shadow Striker hoi
this is officially the heart gold/soul silver of FE
Tfw Ghast is incredibly overleveled and has his ubergrinded Mycen that can basically solo the game when your best unit was level 15 Alm and the rest couldn't survive more than 1-2 rounds of combat
Also you missed some stuff at the entrance to Furia Harbor, and plz watch those Memory Prisms
how much you want to bet that ghast is going to be pissed by the end of act 6?
Yeah so much happened already yay! Ghast is back!
you're so good at fire emblem ghast
Ghast you should do the Alm and Celica amiibo dungeons. They got great music, setting, and background history on Mila and Duma
This is the time Ghast to get the overclass DLC and beef up your units or you will be getting people killed down the line.........
ACT 6 aka Prepare to Get Rekted Edition
hes actually gonna do it! gl, bowknights would be useful tho...
Dagons and Fire Dragons are pretty gnarly if you don't overgrind your characters
PunkDisciple23 Well, I don't have the DLC per say, but just a lot of Dread Looping, and grinding Weapon Skills.
I just had a kliff at dread fighter for the second time and he bodied the entire dungeon until celica died lel
The stupid thing is that many of my characters that i dlc trained for a bit started suffering in the 7-8 floor so even with the power of dlc this can be painful
Is that the sun rising in the background?
YAAAY it's ghast's favorite western protagonist
i think now would be a good time for overclass ghast
God I love the attention to detail.
Ghast is about to get rocked
Going to Archanea at the end of Echoes is like going to Kanto at the end of Pokemon Gold/Silver
It begins
Get ready for suffering because that's what the labyrinth is
weren't water dragons an unused enemy type in fe 1?
also, celica has little monologue for when she enters the thabes as well
He went into Thabes. rip Ghast
I feel like chapter 6 was kind of a missed opportunity. They could have easily added some dialogue talking about the dragons attacking you and about how you must stop Grima.

Good luck, but you're Ghast...
It's time.
yo gassed remember this comment
there is going to be a remake of Fire Emblem 6 for 3DS of course
Ah the post-game dungeon, also known to some as Hell. For what it is, it's a fine post-game but what brings it down is the lack of a proper reward and the reward you do get isn't all that worth it after completing this.
When Ghast turned Mycean on a Myrmidion?
Has anyone tried leveling up their characters to max before promoting them to get as many stats as possible. And if so has it helped in regards to beating Thabes or making it any less painful?

Floors 1-5 aren't that bad, but HOLY HELL does shit start to hit the fan from 6 onwards.
did he not realize that the kid version of Alm and Celica in the intro screen turn into adult Alm and Celica after u beat the game
Get ready for shockers
Wait WHAT? How the fuck did you get the Fire Emblem achievement? Tatiana fucking DIED!
Brought her back to life lel
And that still counts as nobody dying? That's fucking stupid
the gradisis'
ghast you look like that dude from cabin in the woods
i missed all of the damn rusted weapons and only got the rusted ring cause I was so scared of dying most of my units couldn't handle a dragon so I just rushed most of it
Is this Fire Emblem Awakening or am I in the wrong place
Flowey The Flower Fire Emblem Echoes is here. Not Awakening.
Flowey The Flower You're a 1000 years too early, buddy
Richet Manoya *2000

I've been waiting for this lol
22:10 Totally not social commentary or anything.
Fire Emblem Awakening spoilers ahead!
DLC overclass cobra into the anaconda (yasha)
Marth should be an special Act 6 unit, what a lost chance...
No. Marth is busy with his own things and he's busy rebuilding the continent by this time. That would be stupid.
He's kinda rebuilding archanea
Nuibaba ヌイババ It wouldn't be far fetched tho. I mean canonically this happens but it doesn't happen at the same time. We already got the character ending and the 3 Pegasus sisters shouldn't be with Alm any longer, they have no reason to be with him.
Palla, Catria and Est are optional units remember? It would fuck up the story drastically for Marth to even be there at all.
Nuibaba ヌイババ To be fair it would fuck up the story for the newly crowned Alm and Celica to go to Archanea at all.
boats
i would have done the dungeon...but tobin, grey, and kliff died on my final battle with duma so how about i not even try
hhheeeccckkk526 just use a revival shrine
:O nOOOOO not those three! Go to the Dragon Shrine, which is on the top-right of Zofia. There is a spring of revival there that will revive dead characters. There's another one somewhere else, but I don't remember where.
typically a dead character still shows up in the roster just available. thats what happened to faye at least but not with those 3. can they still be revived?
