Twenty years later, and this show is still compelling.
Almost thirty years later and it still is. I wish they would come out with a where are they now.
@Hellcat Bass The show ran from 1995 to about 2006. So about 15 years ago at this point in time.
@@IcyWisdom fucking show is amazing
@@Doritsboobshadow It absolutely is! I loooooove it! Yet, it's so hard to find online. The best site I've used for years, that has everything you can think of, doesn't have this. I've seen others say the same. It's a rare show to find, but the BEST!
True
Can you imagine being alive one moment and then having to say goodbye instantly? Stuff is crazy..
The cop isnt lying, i work NYCTA on the tracks. that shit happens and they make a point that it doesnt get out into the news most of the time. It happens
I'd imagine the public would be totally freaked out if they got news of something like that happening. They'd freak to the point of many not taking the subway again. I'd say death to anybody pushing anyone else off of a platform. That's evil.
When suicide is in the news it makes it happen more
I’m a cop and he showed up to one of my jobs once working for ESU. I said hey you were the one in taxicab confessions. He rolled his eyes and said “oh that, Jesus”. LOL
That's really funny, Frank. Thanks for sharing that. All the best.
lol that’s cool , was he embarrassed or regretted it?
🤣🤣🤣🤣 That is hilarious! Of course he did that
the first story with the cop was sum real shit...
This show is the best reality show I've seen, to date, because it's so original and so fascinating and so amazingly voyeuristic.
I remember watching this one back then . The subway story stuck with me
Me too. I was a senior in college. I'll never forget it. And a lot of other ones. This show is up there with the greatest ever.
I remember my first trip to NYC and thought about this cop’s story, and every time I took the subway, I made it a point to not stand at the edge of the platform and watch everyone else around me.
Yes, NEVER stand at the edge. Too many tweekers looking for shits & giggles will do the heinous deed.
It happens a lot normal people that wouldn’t normally kill someone just decide they want to kill a random person and push them
Always be aware of your surroundings and never let a stranger get close. Keep a conceal and carry if you can. I do. Stay safe my fellow taxicab lovers :)!
@@frostedlambs They ain't normal Jack.
Whenever I ride the subway in NY or Boston or wherever I always nestle into an I-beam on the platform so no one can get behind me.
Uncle Frank was always a cheerful storyteller at the family BBQ's.
I always think of how hard it is for a doctor to have to tell someone they're going to die, but this takes it a whole step forward because they have to tell them "as soon as the train comes up, you're dead." It's just how absolute the situation is and how quick it is. I can't imagine being in this cop's shoes when he has to explain that to someone who doesn't want to die. Very sad.
This was the first "Taxicab Confessions" and the first one I ever watched..."TC" is the best and most novel hidden camera/reality show concept I've ever seen, to date, even moreso, than, the reality show that started it all, "Real World".
That woman, the lesbian, is stunning...She looks like a model and/or a movie star.
We all knew we were up late when this was on TV.
New York city and Smooth Jazz... perfect mixture
My dad was a taxi cab driver, ohh the stories they would tell him.
I remember this show in the early 90s I was getting high on blunts now its 2021 and I have kids and I'm still smoking blunts thinking about how great this show was🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🌲🔥🎄💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨4life my momma didn't raise no quiter💯%
I’m sure she’s proud of her drug addict child. ❤
People knew how to talk to strangers back then
That woman cab driver and girl seemed like they were flirting with each other 😂
The story about getting hit by the train has stuck with me to this day.

An award-winning episode of Homicide: Life on the Street which guest-starred Vincent Dinofrio was inspired by this scene, according to that episode's writer.
This show I think, was the inspiration for an L.A. cop show called "The Street." It used actors (Michael Beach being one) instead of real cops. Well that one spawned another show which featured real cops from all California law enforcement agencies called, "Bad Boys."
Anyone else feel a little dead inside after the train story?
Damn the first guy’s story was impressive. I feel sorry for him. He’s brave though.
They made the cop's story in the beginning into an episode of "Homicide: Life on the Street" (S:6-E:7) "Subway". I saw that one episode (starring Vincent D'Onofrio) when it was first broadcast and it's stayed with me all these years. That was like nothing I had seen before on television. I finally did the research and IMDB had a link to this video for the true back-story to that episode. All these years later, the rest of the story.
That cop was one scary man. I love this show, I could watch it forever... And I do not give a shit if it's real or not, because regardless, to me it captures the essense of reality, and the magic of ordinary folks like you or me...
The cop isn't scary, he just doesn't live a sheltered life
Meaning?
Can you explain why you say the cop is scary? (The one working 2 jobs to buy a house)
@@julieann4616 He talks about how he thinks some cops become cops so they can have the authority to shoot people or whatever, I haven`t watched it in a long time
@@julieann4616 i was confused on what they meant but then literally as soon as i finished reading this comment the cop in the video says "i'll shoot you in a minute, because i dont give a fuc... thats the best part about being a cop"
count your blessings, dude has seen it all.
i used to love this show :)
Oh Man! The memories! I used to love this show.
Enlightening but upsetting. Some of the things people we take for granted have to deal with...
That girl wrote american psycho by the way. Legend
Guinevere Turner, absolute icon
@@horvat1633 Was the 2nd clip fake?
She didn't write "American Psycho". She's a screenwriter who was one of the co-writers who adapted the book ,which was written by Brett Easton Ellis, to script for the film.
@tommyls4357 No, the segment with Guinivere is not fake. She talked about it in a magazine interview a little after it aired.
Even though the movie "Go Fish" had been released at the time, I do not see a reason why it would have been fake because she never talked about it or the fact that she had written and acted in a movie and by that time, maybe two movies, "Go Fish" and "The Watermelon Woman". Both being very independent/small budget movies.
Also, while I was watching the episode when it aired I had to keep wondering if it was her and only confirmed it through the interview in a UK magazine article when the interviewer asked about it. Her statement was basically that she had just left a bar was very drunk with a compromised memory.
I haven't looked at the article in years which I did buy a copy of that magazine (DIVA) issue, but I am not sure if I still have it.
90's. Taxicab confessions was big back then. Along with Real Sex.
Yup lol
I used to watch these but remember very little. However the girl who hits on the cab driver was the one I recall the most for some reason. I did not actually think I would find it and specially on youtube of all places.
HBO Max could bring this back for Uber drivers lmfao
"Then we have to tell them that your balls are facing the wrong direction" hahahah
frank8040 lol i was like did he just say that smh!!!!
Taxi cab drivers are so easy to talk to.
Take an interest in people, you'd be amazed who wants to tell their story.
That girl's accent
I was told to not watch taxi cab confessions or look it up.
But that cop one was crazy, and I saw someone get hit by a train today, its no joke
This channel is very great, truly fun to look.
Damn I remember seeing that type of injury on the comedy movie 'Scary Movie'. There they dont really show the seriousness in this type of injury because they're cracking jokes. But the way this guy explained it hit me a bit differently. I couldn't be in that situation I would freak the fuck out. 😖
Taxi cab driver trying to take her home. lol
One of my favorite reality shows
was this even real?
That is now being reported about people being pushed off the subway platforms. As soon as I started hearing about that, I thought about this episode.
Oh, I remember seeing this on a cable station. Very upsetting story‼️

I fell in love instantly with the last girl. She screams sensuality but she's also drunk lol
she is a famous screenwriter and actress who wrote the screenplay for American Psycho among other things
@@user-ez3vq8ph2h Ah, so this was fake. That's disappointing.
@@steven1479 it still may have been real, but who knows
@@steven1479 I listened to an interview with her on this podcast called “Hot Takes And Deep Dives” and she was talking about this experience which led me here to watch this. This was most definitely real! She is sort of famous so suspicions are natural but she said in the interview that night they made her sign a media release form but she was so drunk she didn’t even remember it. She actually didn’t even realize it was a show😭
Thanks for this.
She's right. Men are simple... But I like both.
i can see alot of myself in that cop. You can tell he holds so much weight on his shoulders and any possible chance he gets to vent he takes it. you can really tell the emotion behind his words and how open he is to talk about it because it most likely eats him up inside
ive been in a few accidents dude and i def know for a fact that the seatbelt helped save my life...ur collarbone may hurt for a lil while afterward but at least u didnt fly headfirst through the windshield into the tree u careened into
I wish they’d bring out a complete box set I’d love to own this show, and Autopsy to also by hbo
The contrast between the two interviews would be hard to make more different.
The deal is both riders were so relaxed telling their stories
I miss this show!!
@3:00 -
That’s incredible information about the subway!
I remember this show! Omg N O S T A L G I A
Can't wait for a spinoff The Uber Driver Confessions
Man I'm scared of subways now.
Yo what is the name of that smooth ass Jazz piece
Eat my bussy bushy
oh the 90's so much cocaine
cocaine was the 80s, 90s was ecstasy
I remember this one when i was a kid, sad stuff
The girl was definitely still rolling after the club
Guinevere Turner!
Hbo need to put these back
The cop with the train story. Jesus. I wonder if today there is the tech to save someone in that situation?
no, the seat belt will spread the force across the front of your body, whereas if you didnt have it, the force would be concentrated on a single point of your head as you crash through the windscreen. you may break your neck, or at least get whiplash during high speed collisions, but the chance is relatively small to the chance of breaking your skull and/or neck as you go through the windscreen
Hey! I'm confessin' here!!
I feel so bad that some people have to experience things like this...
The lady at 5:54 is DONE!! She's so graceful high
TYREE ALEXANDER fucking hot though
Female driver was CREAM-ing for sure
this is crazy to think about
wow this brings back memries,,, like the ilegal black box cabkle i had to watch this hbo series
lady doesn't want her to get hurt, no one wearing a seatbelt
the black women has such a beautiful soothing personality.. thats the kind of person id like to sit down and just talk with
At least they get to say goodbye.
It's real. But they probably sign a release before they get out of the taxi.
Oh the handle bar mustaches lol
Stand in the back. Got it.
yeah it came on HBO but now that i dont have it, im not sure if it still comes on.
This was back in 1994
+Ronnie Clay lol it looked 90s
I want to buy every season available.... do they even still do this
Darksides of NY
@Mritsalie Were you born yesterday? Most cabs at the time didn't have seatbelts in the back, and many still don't.
Does anyone know where I can find this show online? The best site I use that has legit EVERY show, doesn't have this amazing show. I'd appreciate any info. Much love.
Buen show!
What is that amazing interior lighting at night though?
I would love to see your stats and source on this one.
There's no way you can detach emotions completely to deal with that kinda shit unless you are a clear cut sociopath
Maybe not detach completely. Who can say? But I've known some lovely stable people who've been through crazy stuff. Built right, deal right, maybe.
Ha has seen all these horrible things, but he still doesn't wear his seatbelt.
That guys story sounds a lot like what happen in the MOVIE SIGNS with Mel Gibson by M Night Shayamalad
This is Basically Entrapment
Anyone, who knows what the jazz song is called, or the artist?
This is what the HLOTS story was based on. Interesting.
thats what im saying, its a tv show so obviously they are going to make it perfectly lit. its not supposed to be some sort of weird coincidence, they did it on purpose.
Anyone know the artist or song of the jazz song in this video?
Omg the train thing is a real mind fuck, damn.
Actual reality..
Wow.
@ImNotYourFriend212 how many years ago was this aired?
Aaaand time to put on happy music
How often would you say that happens??
the second one i thought it was a setup, lol
yea, I felt that way too. Hope it wasn't fake.
@ethan1336 yeah they put the show at 1 am and its kind of scary to watch it
do the people who push them usually get caught?
Damn reddit
Back when shows like this were REAL , they're not faking and don't really know about secretly filmed tv shows or care about any real world Implications of their actions.
This kind of dark sleazy raw voyueristic Interaction and no bs authenticity couldn't exist anymore.
