This super detailed HP2 (PC) Custom Map makes us rediscover the castle like a CHILD again!

- It is finally time for the second release coming from Cake and I can happily announce that he kept the quality of his amazing first map! A giant open world Hogwarts filled with cozyness and good vibes awaits us once again and I felt like taken back to my childhood losing myself in the open world of this beautiful game! This features sooo many amazing ideas for room and challenge design (LOVED that HP2 PC Glitchless Easter Egg) and it's just the complete package of discovery, wonder and adventure! More details than I have really ever seen in any custom map and such well thought out card and secret design, I loved every second of it!
A true masterpiece like it's predecessor once again, 10/10 map without question! I really can't wait for the next one he publishes and considering how big and detailed his maps are he builds them super quickly as well!
I hope that you will enjoy this completely new discovery of Hogwarts as much as I did and that it sends you back straight to childhood nostalgia as well, have fun watching!

Especially when it's about giant open world maps like this one! That's what I love most about them as well, it's always in a way a throwback to playing and discovering the original levels as a child which makes it a super nostalgic experience 💛

Wow this map is AMAZING, Cake did an incredible job! It feels like the Hogwarts I dreamed of when I was a child, it made me nostalgic and kind of emotional 🥹 excellent video, Nixxo!
I couldn't agree more with everything you said there, cake has managed to build such a big and vibrant open world castle that really throws us back to discovering the OG castle for the first time. Imagine going back in time and showing our kid versions this custom map, it would have been surreal!

Wow! Excellent map. One of these days I have to try my hand at making a custom map.
Definitely in the Top 5 of best HP2 PC custom maps of all time! Also that's something really cool to read there, there have been a lot of new mappers around recently who all do amazing work and it's definitely the more the merrier so I can't wait to see what you are going to build!
I almost forgot to comment which would have been a shame! Absolutely love the effort put into this map, the inclusion of ideas and artwork from the community and also little easter eggs is just brilliant. The scale of the map is mindblowing, thats solid two hours of playtime and well, thats about a quarter of the actual game (not talking about speedruns obviously :D). Would absolutely love to see creations like this somehow to be connected to the original game, to enrich the whole experience and immersion.
Lets talk about flaws! Are there any? Its really well designed, programmed and tested. Maybe the one things which could have been improved a little is the "I need to find this book" story with some more voicelines, but thats the thing: on this level the only thing I really could wish for is: more! I really hope the saga continues and we get to see some exiting new Hogwarts areas and revisit untold parts of the story.

At this point I'm waiting for a rebuild of the full Hogwarts Legacy map in this style :D
I have to say that people are getting really close to a full castle rebuild in the scale of Legacy with maps like this 😄 Super awesome to see and play those amazingly detailed maps!

Now that you mention it I wonder if the map creator played it and might have gotten inspiration from that... It's another classic game series after all!

I had that longing to live in the video game version of HP2 sooo much as a child and now discovering the "new castle" with all of those custom maps kind of brings it back for me as well so I know what you are talking about! What an amazing and cozy world it is, it would be super amazing ❤️

You can really lose youself in this map trying to discover the entire open world, the same happened to me pretty much. Really happy that you enjoyed it as well though!
Ok, chat wrote gargoyle button indeed, but I've to admit with gargoyle I also thought on the lumos statures. For me, that on the stone table was more of a small ugly devil like in the moral angel und devil picture. xD
I'm very happy to hear that I am not alone in thinking that then 😂 It's definitely not a classic Gargoyle depiction like we have on buildings and with the Lumos statues in this game which is what I was mostly looking for. I like "ugly devil" as a dedcription for that one though, will use that one from now on 😂

Yeaah this part is really impossible to solve for casual players and I think more of a joke reference for everyone who has followed the madness of that frog manipulation strat from the HP2 PC Glitchless runs.
37:27 I had no idea HP3 content, such as those banners, could be imported into HP2 (& feasibly HP1)!
A LOT is possible with the new editor/engine nowadays if you just have the patience for it. They have done an amazing job with it and it's super cool to see stuff like that ported to the other games!

I've downloaded the game and the mod, but when I try to load the map it just does nothing. Is it any other configuration needed apart from loading the mod ad draggin the extracted files into the game folder? It's my first time trying a moded map on this game.

I've downloaded another maps before, and all of them are working great. But I've downloaded this map, and when I try to load it, i get an error "Bad import index"😢 what should i do?
This map requires the new Engine mod that the community made. So I would assume the error comes from trying to play this map with the base game. Ohh that makes a lot of sense, sorry for not thinking about that myself. Some of the maps are really picky when it comes to the editor version but the newest one should always work for all of them, happy to hear that you figured it out and enjoy playing!
