@Weezy Breezy Thank you for your thoughts! I've learned the hard way, but I'm so thankful Dr Dray & others like her work hard to educate people about this.
@@kimberlyd4082 I am Aussie too. Very fair skinned and burnt like a lobster in childhood. Our sun is fierce. I avoided sun from my teens and I still got skin cancer in the corner of my eye. I am lucky, I do look youthful due to sun avoidance
I am on my Spf soap box today!!! Because of you,Dr Dray, I have tubs and tubes of cvs spf 50 zinc all over my house and car. Cheap and good. My makeup bag has elta md spf41 tint moisturizer instead of base. My concealer from Nuetragena has spf 25. I even found a cream blush that has spf 25. I reaply 3 times a day. 2 years ago I showed my doctor a spot on my chest that I though looked funny. You had just talked about skin cancer a pre-cancer spots. She removed it. It was pre cancer and I am so grateful for you and my doc. Skin cancer runs on both sides of my family. I don't have a day that I'm without spf 50 on all exposed areas. My malasma has faded and I look younger. People, listen to what she tells us. It works and my skin is the best its been in 20 years. It also may just save your life. 🥰
Hi Melissa, I just bought the cvs spf 50 clear zinc in a tube. It has 4% octocrylene 5%zinc oxide. Is that the same one you use? Do you know if the octocrylene ingredient is approved by Dr. Drae? Thanks!
I appreciate your videos. You reminded me why sunscreen is so important. I am fair skinned and my father has had skin cancer multiple times in his life. I take so much better care of my skin because of you.
I remember seeing some comments previously about how frequently you apply sunscreen and people thinking it’s excessive...I’m like um the directions in the bottle literally say that soo...it’s clear the rest of us aren’t applying enough.
can you seriously be excessive with sunscreen? I for one don't think so, and I know for fact I wish I remembered to apply it more often! it is important protection!!
I've found as time passes that i care less and less about the white cast from my mineral sunscreen. I never realized how freeing not giving a f*ck could feel.
Our UV Index in Brisbane today is 12.1!!! I am now sourcing driving gloves, a great hat and UV umbrella! Thanks Dr Dray for really making me serious about sunscreen. Already have had several bccs cut out so no excuses! Hopefully everyone will get the message x
If you get your windows fitted with UV-film, that blocks over 99% of UVA, and stock windshields (laminated glass) already block ~98% of UVA. UPF clothing is still awesome to have though.
I really want to start reapplyng sunscreen throuhout the day but my only problem is that I love to wear makeup and reapplying my morning sunsreen means kind of redoing my whole makeup and that´s where I get desmotivated
If you are working inside and not sweating and ur makeup is intact so is your sunscreen. Sunscreen degraded as it’s protecting u. So if your not in the sun the sunscreen is not degrading. If you are wearing a good layer in the am and are not outside u don’t need to reapply as diligently. Reapplying every 2 hours is more like when u are outside in the sun for prolonged periods. I work in an office with no windows. I use zinc too bc avabenzone isn’t stable and since I wear makeup the cast doesn’t bother me. Sometimes in the summer I will reapply for the car ride home from work. So that’s my advice and it works for me and I am pale w freckles and I’ve been able to get rid of ALL of my freckles so I know I’m not getting sun bc if I was I’d have freckles I get them very easily.
I had that same thought and what I did was buy a powder spf for retouches. The one I got is from the brand colorescience and they have different shades too. But the info in this other comments is so helpful too. Thanks everyone!
We always hear that sun screens need to be reapplied every 2 hours. I have looked and can never find that research or how they conduct that research. Do they put sunscreen on and then use the special UV lights to see how long it lasts? Can it be different if one is outside sweating or inside sitting at a desk job? I would love to see or read how they come up with the standards and wonder if chemical or mineral is exactly the same. If you have any links or know where I can find that it would be appreciated. Maybe even a video on that content?
If you just sit inside for most of the time, it's enough when you put the sunscreen on in the morning. If you are spending quite some time outdoors, then reapply! Hope that helps.
Justyna Wisniewska But Dr Dray says no matter what you are doing, research says you need to reapply every few hours. I want to read the research, I can’t find it.
@@l9878 She says she reapplies to make it a habit, you really don't have to if you only go outside to get to work and from work, spending the rest of the time indoors. You don't need to go extreme with it, but whatever floats your boat.
@@justynawisniewska1213 I get that, I listen to her too and what she says. But even the manufacturer says to reapply every (specific time for each one). I just want to know the research, if there is any. Do they say it just "in-case" you need it, or is there any research out there that has people apply it, stay inside, go out and swim, sweat, whatever and then use the special UV lights to see how long it lasts. No offense but I am not asking for opinion or suggestions or whatever. I want to know if there is any medical research behind the instructions as to how often to apply.
i think the active ingredients (e.g avobenzone, oxybenzone, zinc oxide etx) start to degrade. plus, it’s inevitable that some of the sunscreen will get wiped off as you go about your day
Always great info! I have Polymorphic Light Eruption (your video is the best information out there. Honestly. My Derm Doc cant spend as much time explaining so the videos are perfect). Anyway...He recommended having my car windows & windshield tinted safely & professionally to help protect me. I've not had any recurring breakouts on my hands or face since. I do need to be better at sunscreen application though. 😬
Mr Tybee is so precious. He was adamant there was something in your bag he wanted...sassy boy! I love these 'shop w me' vlogs. So helpful! Thanks Dr Dray!!
I've been battling acne since i was a teen but from watching your videos I've found good products that actually work for my sensitive skin. Thank you ❤ now to try tackle my dyshidrotic eczema
I am 69 years of age, white, no wrinkles. My mother and father were farmers constantly out in the sun no wrinkles and both passed mid seventies , my dad cancer and mom, heart condition. I used sun screen on occasion and I do moisturize nightly. Nothing fancy just whatever is at hand. Believe genetics a huge factor and taking due diligence as she suggests maybe no wrinkles ten years from now.
A little tip for your candle, Dr. Dray! You should try lighting it for about 30mins or so, until the wax pools out quite a bit. Then blow it out and dip a cotton ball (or 2) in the wax to absorb some of it. It’s helpful to use a pair of pliers or tongs since the wax is hot. Then you can relight it and hopefully the wick will burn better for you. Sometimes candle wicks are just duds and I’ve had the same thing happen to some of my candles too.
You’re actually the reason I reapply sunscreen in the car, haha! When I’m driving long distances, I like to reapply after stopping for a bathroom break. Recently, I applied my first layer of sunscreen in a public restroom which is not ideal lol. Thank you for promoting sun protection habits (:
next video: 'why i put sunscreen on at night while i sleep' hahahahthanks for your time, this is what youtube should be. educational videos from people who actually know what the f they are talking about, not these self proclaimed 'influencers'. Watching you from Malta!

Hi dr Dray. Thanks to you I have no inhibitions applying sunscreen in public, outdoors etc. Not perfect but still. Have a great weekend! Thanks for the vlog!
I work 9 hours a day outside, all year long. Luckily I found out about the side effects of the uv rays pretty early, but you'd be HORRIFIED how few people use sun protection in my line of work. Everyone I work with have severe issues with their skin. I pass around my mineral sunscreen to newbies, basicly scaring them into using it 😂
❤️ Great vlog again. SPF filters work before they leave the bottle though. The 20 min. thing is a myth. Chemists like LapBeutymuffin and kindofSteven adress that in detail.
@@ambergerhelper7852 all sunscreen ingredients chemical or phisical or more correctly organic or inorganic work mostly the same way. They form a film that absorbs UV light and turn it into heat. Ingredients like Zinc oxide and Titanium oxide will also reflect and scatter small amount of UV but most sunscreens ingredients will convert it to heat and all of the ingredients will work before you apply them on your skin, they do not need to react with the skin. It's easy to prove this by applying them on paper and then use a UVA devise that shows that they are already working. You should be of course applying them 20 min before sun exposure as the product needs to spread out and dry out before it forms an even layer.
My problem is that my face get slightly greasy after a while. Face wipes or micellar water is not a perfect cleansing method for me. Applying stuff on not quaite clean face = clogged pores = breakouts.
Same, I only like applying things to a clean canvas. If I have a layer of moisturizer, spf, sebum, oil, and dirt, I don't want to seal it in with more spf
I got 3 coolibar hoodies on sale for like 70% off on clearance all for $26 each vs the $69-$99 they typically retail at today. And I got stupid excited about it. Hahaha. I am great about reapplying on my face/neck/ears/décolletage area. Even the backs of my hands but applying all over my arms is SO cumbersome. I’m really excited about having UPF 50+ sleeves in my arsenal.
Definitely recommend trying to make your own almond butter. Total game changer and I never went back to getting store bought ones. It tastes so much better too.
Question! 🖐 Do filters only degrade whilst being exposed to UV rays or does the clock start ticking on degradation the moment they are first exposed and then degrade regardless of any continued UV exposure? For instance, if I apply, go outside for about 10 minutes, then stay in a windowless basement for the rest of the day, has the sunscreen only degraded by about 10 minutes or will it continue to degrade until it becomes ineffective?
You are the Queen of Sunscreen 🧴 I love that you are always showing us how to apply it and reminding us that it needs worn at home and out and about. (Reapply Reapply Reapply)
1. I loooooove the mushroom coffee. Thank you for the recommendation! 2. Are you using some kind of lash serum because your eyelashes look amazing! 3. Is it okay to use sunscreen on damp skin?! I usually wash my face in the AM and put it on immediately after.
She mentions in a previous video that you can apply sunscreen to damp skin, but this serves MOISTURIZATION purposes only. Once the skin is dry, you must apply a 2nd layer for the real protection.
I’ve been reading varying advice re sunscreen & vitamin D. How do we balance complete sun protection with adequate D intake(without oral supplement)? love your videos - so helpful!
Debrucey I went to a lecture given by an MD in recent years. The lecture was on supplements and he commented on low vitamin D due to indoor living and heavy SPF use. He failed to mention increasing incidences of skin cancer and continued to criticize sunscreen. It was strange....
I am a beach bum and when I was a teenager I would do tan beds in the spring. And hardly ever wore sunscreen to the beach. Also spend abound 8 hours on a boat. I have not been to a dermatologist in 10 years. I'm almost 26 and now starting to realize that I really do need sunscreen. I've been applying it now, but I'm a little nervous because I am going to go to a dermatologist to get checked out. I do have enlarged pores and I'm starting to feel that it is not overly active sebaceous glands but sun damage. Your channel has made me realize the importance of sunscreen, thank you Dr. Dray. I was doing red light therapy beds 5 days a week to hopefully help my skin somewhat repair any possible damage, but felt like it wasnt helping?
I apply once a day. I do believe chemical sunscreens degrade but the mineral ones dont I can attest to that because at the end of the day when I remove mine in a double cleanse I can see it on the cloth I use to take off my first cleanse which is avocado oil.
Happy Saturday! I wanted protection for my hands when I drive! I bought some gloves that cyclists wear and I like them. Here in Quebec, at this time of year, the days are longer. In winter at 4:00 PM the sun sets but in February we have daylight until 5:30 PM. Very good for the morale! So we need to be more alert and extend our sunscreen application. I am looking forward to seeing what's new in the spring. I hope there will be new skin products and that they will be more effective. Tybee has a lot to say for what I can see. Always happy to see your mother. With my sunscreen, my foundation with spf and I have to buy powder with sunscreen...I think I'm going to feel more protected. I saw a review of Cerave tinted sunscreen that was very positive. I think with my skin tone it should be a winner. I can't wait to try it because I can refresh my complexion during the day!
You helped me stop wearing makeup. I like sometimes powdering over a thick layer of sunscreen but it’s not needed for me. I Always reapply too! Do you happen to have a more affordable alternative to the color science eye cream you apply ? 💜from Florida
I live in Germany and was driving around with a face shield and sun glasses for the last days. The looks I got were so funny haha literally everyone was staring at me but I didn’t care 🤣🤣
I think when people see individuals wearing masks they automatically think that you are contagious or that your immune system is very low so you're protecting yourself from them. This coronavirus stuff certainly doesn't help at this time. I wonder if I could just use a sun visor hat as I have big curly hair and hats don't always fit that well. I have one with the sun protection that has velcro at the back so my hair is exposed in the center top and I can sort of adjust the fit, however, I wish they had used buttons with loops to attach it because the velcro gets caught in my hair.
Just to let you know, you can get a fine(60€, I believe) if you drive with you face covered, either partially or full, while driving in DE. I just did my Theorieprüfung at the Fahrschule and this was pointed out in the course.
Is the Coola SPF 30 makeup setting spray effective? I apply sunscreen, then my makeup and follow with the Coola spray. Then I reapply the Coola spray throughout the day. Is this going to work for me? The active ingredients are Avobenzone, Homosalate, and Octisalate.
Michelle Simones Moenkhaus it’s better than nothing but I’m sure she would caution that with sprays it would be harder to get even application and you would probably inadvertently miss areas. However , people like us who buy Coola SPF setting spray tend not to be those who can easily reapply- I have oily skin and do a full face of makeup every day. No exceptions. I wear sunscreen under my makeup and my foundation and powder both contain SPF. I am usually never outdoors for more than a minute but the few times I have, others have gotten burned and I have been A-ok! Not even a hint of redness even in Florida , Bahamas and Cali. They do make dusting spf powders but most are super overpriced and the two I found that were priced okay were too dark for my skin. If you’re medium complexion Physicians formula makes a setting powder w high spf for reapplication and of course pur minerals makes a powder foundation that has good coverage as well.
I choose to wear makeup most days (not for deliberate outdoor activities) I apply a chemical 50+ thickly in the morning and wear pure mineral makeup. It’s not possible for me to reapply over my makeup. Would a re dust of makeup benefit at all??
I’m obsessed with your channel! One question: How do you suggest reapplying sunscreen for oily skin gals? I have an issue, mainly when I’m sitting on the beach where I live, where my skin breaks out for days after I am reapplying every 2 hours. Thanks in advance! 💜
Dr Dray, how do you recommend using sunscreen with your face moisturizer and makeup? Is your face moisturizer first then sun screen and final makeup ? What is the order you recommend ? Thank you
Tybee was so adorably talkative today! :-) you must have touched something, perhaps another puppy dog, and Tybee is picking up some sort of scent from your bag. Maybe he wants to read the book or wants you to read it to him! Hahaha! Or maybe he wants you to get rid of the book so you can play ball with him for the rest of the day. You get up at 4 a.m. even on Saturday morning!? So when I woke up at 5:45 and realize I had fallen asleep without doing my nighttime skincare, I watched your sunglasses video and you had already been up an hour and 45 minutes prior? Exactly what time do you go to bed? Okay I forgot about the time difference so you weren't up that long yet. Hope you and your mom are having a great day and I would love to have some of that mac and cheese!

Sunscreen degrades WHEN? When it's exposed to UV correct? So if you haven't spent any time in the sun, next to a window, or sweating pretty sure you don't need to reapply.
Hi Dr dray, what do you think about layring two sun screens; like putting a chemical one then the physical one? Does it give more protection? I have hyperpigmention so I want the maximum protection. Thanks for all your advices.
Shin Mi na She doesn’t recommend mixing them, like taking two and mixing them together and applying in one layer. She does recommend layering them, like applying a chemical one, then a physical one, or just doing two layers of one type. ☺️
Good Saturday Doc and Mrs. Suarez, I look so forward to your videos, you have taught me so much. Watching from a very cold Camden NJ,17. degrees this morning. I will warm up soon with a pot of vegetarian chili. Enjoy the rest of your day, I may just binge watch your videos as I often do.
I usually apply a primer after I apply the urban skin RX and I have never had it ball up. I also always try to wait the whole 15-20 min before putting anything else over the sunscreen and that helps a lot.
I put on sunscreen after my shower. And reapply three times a day. I also wear this thing called a 'buff,' which is an SPF stretchy cylindrical cloth that you wear around your neck. It can be used to cover your face. So, I deploy it while running or hiking, usually with a baseball cap and sunglasses. It totally makes me look like a freak. But whatever. I also wear it while driving freeway miles. I live in LA and you drive easily for an hour or so. I wish I'd had it around when I used to do more cross-country driving! Regardless of the fact that the buff gives me almost complete sun protection, I still put on my sunscreen. I don't wear the buff when I'm driving in the city or walking on streets or having normal interactions...so I need to be protected when I pull it off.
I notice you and your mom spend a good deal of time together and go to various places, indoors and outdoors. Does she apply sunscreen as much as often as you? Just curious...as I dont recall her applying sunscreen with you. Thank you for your sharing your vast knowledge and recommendations...you provide excellent content.
I can't really see what her mom is doing and is quite possible that her mom does not get up at 4 a.m. and I know the stores don't open at that time unless it is a 24-hour joint so I bet her mom applied her sunscreen before leaving or possibly again even in the car but she is usually the driver while Dr.Dre is applying her sunscreen and recording.
Use a makeup that spf 30 or more. There are a lot. find one for your skin type so you don't need to use powder all over. Phsysians formula has a new cream blush that has spf 25 in it. Nuetragena has a concealer with spf 25. The whole IT Cosmetic line has spf 30 or above. For all skin types. Since using spf 40 or more I no longer need so much makeup. My skin has evened out , malasma faded, less wrinkles.
If you’re not exposed to the sun, as most people aren’t when working in an office, your SPF is not degrading. The “20 minute” rule is also a myth, proven to be absolutely irrelevant and false.
I find that the 2nd and 3rd application go on better - for some unknown reason. The first one takes a while to set; however, the 2nd and third applications set more quickly and more evenly. I still prefer Altruist for my arms and neck and forehead and ears, whereas I like Elta MD SPF 41 (tinted) for the rest of my face and some Cotz to go over that.
Loving your videos so much, Dr. Dray. Thanks for sharing all this info with us. I would love to see a video focusing on milia. I would really appreciate it :)
I am 52 ( no wrinkles or skin problems) and I do not wear sunscreen at all. When the trees and grass wither...I will consider. Besides, I don’t think you can really hide from the sun if it really wants you. Just my 2 cent thought. Shea butter ( natural sunscreen) and a large straw hat 👒 if I’m desperate or prolonged time.
I worked at an outdoor water park and had to tell my groundskeepers to reapply their sunscreen, but 8th graders never believe me. Meanwhile I’m reapplying every 2 hours and wearing my ridiculous wide-brimmed safari hat because I don’t want to look like a wrinkled paper bag at age 30.
I have sensitive skin Irish and any lotion or sunscreen under my eyes goes right in to my eyes. It’s so irritating and painful for several days after. Any advice????
Merci Beaucoup I use “Kids” sunscreen 🧴, for that reason. Ingredient-wise, children’s and adult sunscreen isn’t any different, per se. It is **marketing**. I wear Children’s sunscreen because it often has a higher percentage of Titanium Dioxide, depending on the brand. I haven’t had any trouble with Children’s sunscreen on my face from the Avéne, LaRoche Possay, or the Ombrélle brands.
I feel like reapplying disagrees with my skin. I work indoors but there are many windows. There is a hall and another room across the hall that has the window. But there are glass walls in the hall so I get light that way. I try to keep the blinds drawn. What are your thoughts. My skin seems to get more acne and irritation. Dray do you skip moisturizer in the day because of all the sunscreen?
Do you have tips on how to reapply sunscreen over makeup. Is that even possible? Is it over caking on products? Which sunscreens do you recommend to reapply over makeup? Thanks so much💜
I don’t like reapplying sunscreen because i put blusher over it and loose powder to lessen the greasiness... should I wash my face first and then reapply?
Omg, my baby does that same rolling fussy howl bark! He's about the same size as Tybee. Don't even know a word to describe it. But it makes me laugh everytime 😅. It's usually just him fussing for 1 of 3 reasons 1) I haven't greeted him fast enough 2) I'm taking too long to bring the leash 3) Or he's yapping at ppl outside the window & is getting annoyed w/ me mocking his bark. All 3 are the pretty much the same though- I'm getting on his f@#$%&! nerves 😂 Love dogs. They are a forever smile on my face and heart. ❤💚🧡🐶
I reapply when I’m outdoors but always wondering about all the germs on my hands (when I don’t have access to soap and water. Can you recommend a hand wipe that can clean hands without giving allergies the face when applying sunscreen to the face? Always...thank you soooooo much for all your advice!
Can you use Purell? I leave that in my car specifically to use after pumping gas or before eating a snack in the car. If I couldn't use that then maybe I would use some kind of wet wipe, or a baby wipe, or a cosmetic wipe or micellar water.
Sable 711 I just don’t want those chemicals from hand sanitizer on my face. I also have PD and hand sanitizer would deff mess with the pH of my face and maybe make it worse. If I can’t wash my hands I will use hand sanitizer but I try and let it dry. But that’s not taking the actual dirt and debris off your hands 😞 lol no win
I’m very fair and have always worn sunscreen. My biggest issue with sunscreen on my face is that it breaks me out in huge cysts! I’ve tried dozens of brands and strengths but they always break me out so badly!
Hey dr. Dray, the only trouble I have with reapplying sunscreen throughout the day is this: I don’t wear foundation/face makeup, but I do enjoy wearing blush and highlighter and reapplying sunscreen would totally ruin that. Is it basically just something I have to choose between, like what’s more important to me?
As most everyone else who has had the fortune of discovering you, I have a Dr. Dray obsession. Would you ever consider a vlog of how you actually put these videos together? Camera used, tripod or other items of attachment, lighting, music, editing software? They are SO good!! And when do you sleep? 😆I hope you are blessed. You are such a blessing to so many. ❤️
I try to wear it as much as possible. My biggest hang up is the 15 minute wait. Sometimes, I simply do not have time to wait or even do it in that moment. I’m working on how to improve this. 😔
I need to apply sunscreen to my face everyday, I’m so lazy with doing it. How do you feel about artificial nail enhancements? Are they extremely harmful to the skin and nails? Gel manicures using uv lamps to cure them?
Lily B I’ve wanted to see what she says too. I did research on what dermatologists said online, and I wear UV protectant gloves with the tips of the fingers cut out.
I am a licensed nail technician and I like to use an LED light instead of UV because it is possible to get melanoma on the nail beds! I don’t want to take any risks!
I put a chemical 50 spf sunscreen from the UK with Mexoryl and other chemical filters. Let that dry. Then put an spf 50 physical sunscreen over it. And I always reapply but usually with just the physical sunscreen. Plus have my spf broad brim hat and spf gloves for my hands
Well I’m only 24 so I don’t need foundation, my skin is really good at the moment since I’m adamant about caring for it. I’m more so thinking about prevention so my skin stays healthy and looks it’s best in my 30s, 40s and beyond

Thanks as always 🙏🏻❤️🌟
I have super dry skin. So in the afternoon when I reapply it feels like I'm tugging on my skin. So do I have to do the whole face wash, moisturize and then apply sunscreen routine 3 times a day? What's your suggestion my fellow dry skin type people?
Good Afternoon Dr.Dray, I would like to know what your opinion is on skincare that has probiotics in them. Tula skincare and Korres; these are a few that I’m curious about.💕
Dr. DRAY!!! I hope I can get your attention because I only trust you to answer this question. Can Tretinoin help with telangiectasias? I know Tretinoin increases capillary function, so I've always avoided parts of my face where I have telangiectasias, but I've heard other people have actually seen an improvement in telangiectasias with Tretinoin (from skin thickening, I'm guessing?) Thanks so much ☺️❤️ much love from Detroit
Hi Andrea, is octocrylene 4% with zinc oxide 5% In a SPF50 broad spectrum a good enough sunscreen?? I bought a CVS brand and wondering if you would approve. Thank you!! 🙂

So that’s my advice and it works for me and I am pale w freckles and I’ve been able to get rid of ALL of my freckles so I know I’m not getting sun bc if I was I’d have freckles I get them very easily.
that’s what I struggle with as well. I wear make up as well, so I only put on sunscreen in the morning
I had that same thought and what I did was buy a powder spf for retouches. The one I got is from the brand colorescience and they have different shades too. But the info in this other comments is so helpful too. Thanks everyone!
Lis_Lis That is a great suggestion! Was thinking how to do it! 👍❤️🌟👏
You can apply sunscreen using your cushion pad as well. Works for many sunscreen
I want to know if there is any medical research behind the instructions as to how often to apply.
i think the active ingredients (e.g avobenzone, oxybenzone, zinc oxide etx) start to degrade. plus, it’s inevitable that some of the sunscreen will get wiped off as you go about your day
I read the title as “why i apply sunscreen on the outside of my car” and had a 5 minute laughing fit, happy Saturday Doc!
Don't want the paint peeling now do we? 🤣
Now I read it this way!!! Hahaha!
I mean, you don't sunscreen your car? 😂🤣😂
Aiden Ryan 🤣🤣
Always great info! I have Polymorphic Light Eruption (your video is the best information out there. Honestly. My Derm Doc cant spend as much time explaining so the videos are perfect). Anyway...He recommended having my car windows & windshield tinted safely & professionally to help protect me. I've not had any recurring breakouts on my hands or face since. I do need to be better at sunscreen application though. 😬
LOL! I clean my car so infrequently on the outside I probably should apply sunscreen to it, might protect it from dirt! :-)
6:01 “Sunscreen has to be reapplied. PERIODT.” 🙌😂

Ekaterina Kozlovskaia Happy Saturday
The bottle says to re-apply. Watching you actually do it is a great reminder. You are helping many, thank you ❤❤
I work 9 hours a day outside, all year long.
Tina Nikolova No it isn’t a myth. Dr. Dray has addressed this.
Dian Mayasari I got breakouts from reapplies too
Have you tried blotting papers? I just make sure my hands are clean. I reapply over makeup so I press the sunscreen on instead of rubbing it in.
Same, I only like applying things to a clean canvas. If I have a layer of moisturizer, spf, sebum, oil, and dirt, I don't want to seal it in with more spf
I apply my sunscreen midday in the car also, you do what you have to do!!!
Happy to see your Mom and Tybee !!
Happy Valentine's Weekend 🙂🍁
Shari Schmidt happy Saturday
I got 3 coolibar hoodies on sale for like 70% off on clearance all for $26 each vs the $69-$99 they typically retail at today. And I got stupid excited about it. Hahaha. I am great about reapplying on my face/neck/ears/décolletage area. Even the backs of my hands but applying all over my arms is SO cumbersome. I’m really excited about having UPF 50+ sleeves in my arsenal.
Definitely recommend trying to make your own almond butter. Total game changer and I never went back to getting store bought ones. It tastes so much better too.
Question! 🖐
Do filters only degrade whilst being exposed to UV rays or does the clock start ticking on degradation the moment they are first exposed and then degrade regardless of any continued UV exposure? For instance, if I apply, go outside for about 10 minutes, then stay in a windowless basement for the rest of the day, has the sunscreen only degraded by about 10 minutes or will it continue to degrade until it becomes ineffective?
It’s ok, you can say ass! 😂😂....I noticed you really tried to catch yourself when you said “ not just talking out of my ....butt”
Did you ever wonder where that saying came from? I mean who talks through their ass?

Ali Avner sunscreen doesn’t affect vitamin d production
Hi Dr Dray. Thanks for the video. Always nice to see your Mom. Tybee is a character. Take care.

Oh and with my luck if I wore the mask, I would get immediately quarantined somewhere.
Just to let you know, you can get a fine(60€, I believe) if you drive with you face covered, either partially or full, while driving in DE. I just did my Theorieprüfung at the Fahrschule and this was pointed out in the course.
Carolyn Hance Oh wow I didn’t know that. Thanks for pointing it out! Guess I have to rely on sunscreen only then.
@@Puglover130 Thanks for your thoughtful post. I will also check out the Bare Minerals powder just in case. I do have fair, oily skin, too.
Most of the time I’m using physical barriers long sleeves etc it’s so much more convenient than wearing sunscreen on larger areas
Thank you

I will warm up soon with a pot of
vegetarian chili.
I just looove your mom! She’s great!
Tybee’s to do list: Just be cute 🥰
Its difficult to reapply sunscreen if wearing foundation, make up. Lots of foundation has a SPF in it that helps.
My question is, what if you're out all day and can't wash your hands near re-application time- wouldn't it be very unsanitary? (:
@Diana Moore Silly question but do you know which kind? thank you btw!
Her mom is sunscreen, that's how dray was born
I can't really see what her mom is doing and is quite possible that her mom does not get up at 4 a.m. and I know the stores don't open at that time unless it is a 24-hour joint so I bet her mom applied her sunscreen before leaving or possibly again even in the car but she is usually the driver while Dr.Dre is applying her sunscreen and recording.
I wear makeup so applying it 3 times a day wont work for me
I would just seek shade after the two hours. So glasses, hats, umbrella etc... There are powder and sprays that have spf but it would not be enough
There are ways around that. Sunscreen comes first in terms of priority.
Candle Kane There’s powder sunscreens

Hey dr. Happy Saturday Dr Dray, mom and Tybee Bo❤️ boy Tybee really had something to say today lol so cute when he talks, and sorta shocked he didn’t go for the ball which is a first in all your vlogs! Did you wind up letting him put his face in the bag ? Lol quick question, I’m wanting electric kettle and wondering do you find it any faster than stovetop? I have sketchy elec burners tired of em.
Tula skincare and Korres; these are a few that I’m curious about.💕
see my video on probiotics and prebiotics in skincare
Dr. DRAY!!! I hope I can get your attention because I only trust you to answer this question.
Can Tretinoin help with telangiectasias? I know Tretinoin increases capillary function, so I've always avoided parts of my face where I have telangiectasias, but I've heard other people have actually seen an improvement in telangiectasias with Tretinoin (from skin thickening, I'm guessing?)
Thanks so much ☺️❤️ much love from Detroit
Hi Andrea, is octocrylene 4% with zinc oxide 5% In a SPF50 broad spectrum a good enough sunscreen?? I bought a CVS brand and wondering if you would approve. Thank you!! 🙂
I love your videos 🤗 enjoy seeing your mom on them 🤗😘
