- Draft-and-stash has been put in play for NBA teams for awhile now. Trying to find the next great international talent that could turn into an Antetokoumnpo caliber player. However, in recent years, using a draft-and-stash for a first round pick has not been the move. Today I'm going to show you 8 players who were busts in the NBA after playing overseas the season they were drafted.

How was my pronunciation, pretty good right?
It wasn't bad at all. Great video. I subscribed.
@@chadgilkinsonsportsI appreciate that
Have you established that "draft-and-stash" doesn't work, or that late first round draft picks don't usually have great careers?
@@Samson-h6l I think what I was establishing was that the first round draft-and-stashes haven't work, in the timeframe I used. Because draft-and-stash has definitely worked with certain 2nd rounders. Just no first rounders really in 2010's & 2020's
There's only so many prospects a team can fit onto the roster. Part of the decision to draft and stash Yabu and Zizic was the 2016-2017 Celtics wanted to give one last year to RJ Hunter, Jordan Mickey, and James Young; none of them became rotation players. When they did bring Yabu over, the team had more vets and higher expectations so he couldn't earn the minutes he needed to improve.
This vid deserves more views. Great job

Bro, the guy you mentioned in the first 2 minutes, Nikola Mirotic, was a draft and stash
Wow, I am stupid. I even tapped on his name on basketball reference
Motiejunas was a beast for me in 2k16
Yeah for sure, also don’t consider him a “bust” at all
