Legit the state of all my 9 orchids atm as their blooms fell off this month after 3/4 months of being in bloom 😂 It’s like you know exactly when I need this video 😂
My boyfriends mom got me a desk orchid and I watched all your videos multiple times so I know when to repot, how to care, and what do do when the blooms fell off. It looks healthy and with the orchid mix I bought and a pot that has lots of breathy holes it look happy and green. 😊
Thanks for the great info. I'm a grandma, so I hope it's okay if I say you are just adorable😀 I never get tired of watching your excellent presentations. You're making me into an orchid junky 😂
For the first time ever I have new blooms usually they just die after the blooms are gone after you get them home from the store, I literally thought that was just how orchids were supposed to be but I saw your video about 6 months ago and clipped mine back and I'm so excited to see what they look like!!
ORCHIDS i love them would always get them & never failed ...my tall lanky child would knock my orchid blooms off EVERYTIME.. he just would be flailing his arms (so hyper this guy ) around somehow lol..omgosh that brings back funny memories he broke so many things .lol this kid I love him..
i have some beautiful leaves. The previous caretaker allowed the spikes to die. I love your energy so I'll just watch yours bloom until mine comes back.
just bought a half off orchid that literally has not only beautiful blooms, but greeeeen roots. i have NO clue why it was so cheap, it was a little water deprived with sagged leaves, but they already perked up (only been a week now). you're videos are great and its reignited my spark for my planties. wish i could show you my beefies (got lots of aloes and fat cactii).
This is some seriously quirky, planting awesomeness. I just watched like five times and subscribed. I hope that all the videos have just as much plant info and super extra personality.
Ive always been so put off from buying orchids due to everyone around me saying how difficult they are to grow. I watched some of your earlier orchid videos about 6 months back, and it convinced me to finally try them out. I went to my local box store, and they happened to have two plants that had already bloomed for 60% off, so of course I grabbed them. They’ve been thriving since I got them, and they’re both growing new leaves. I kept my stem, because it seemed healthy, but haven’t got anymore blooms yet. They’ll most likely come next year. Anyways, long way of saying _thank you_ for what you do on here :)
One of my friends has an orchid that wasn’t too well. She ended up putting it in water due to your videos and it’s now growing a new leaf. No new spike for blooms yet maybe next year but new leaves are awesome also.
Every year my flower spikes have died on every orchid I own. Except last year! For the first time, 2 of my orchids, one a very small orchid and one a bigger boi, kept their flower spikes! They then all shed their oldest underside leafs and grew a new one up top. I think that means they’re in better health than before so I’m excited so see them bloom again this year and hopefully all 5 will keep their spikes if I’m lucky ☺️
I started following your page several months ago and thanks to you I was able to save an orchid then my neighbor was about to throw out and it's about to bloom
If you want a potentially bigger spray/higher number of blooms chop the spike down all the way so energy can be put 100% into new shit. However, if you're iffy about your green thumb prospects or just want to see flowers faster, follow her rec bc part of the work is done for you and often secondary blooms will indeed appear off the old spike (just not as many as on a fresh new flower spike). They'll also often appear more quickly on an old spike for the same reason.
I didn't trim my spikes after my blooms fell. On one spike, the blooming end withered and dropped off on its own, but on the other spike, it stayed healthy, and a new branch grew out of the end. It also started a new offshoot, so when it finishes growing and blooms next time, I'll have 3 groups of flowers instead of two.
This is really good advise! I once succeeded in getting an orchid to rebloom without cutting anything. I have not been able to recreate that though. (I was also younger and newer to plant parenting)
You saved my orchid I was just about to throw it out cuz it hadn’t bloomed in a year and then the spike turned yellow recently I’m so happy you posted this cuz when I got it the flowers were such a beautiful white and I wanted to see them again
I was given a mini orchid plant last Christmas and they all fell off (there was only one stem), and some months ago I cut it below the bottom nub and now a new stem is finally growing 😄🥳🤗
My mini orchid is getting so big and growing a new stem now after following one of your orchid vids. I got it fit like $7 after last V-day, it was so sad looking. I can’t believe it made it and triple it’s size now.
Thank you for your giggle inducing vids. The tips too! I have a spike with a full toddler growing off her mid section. 4 leaves with no signs of air roots. Any suggestions? Do they require finishing school?
My orchid stem is currently growing and it’s doing it really fast. Using hydroponics without any medium. Used medium before but the roots started to rot.
❤😂. You’re so cute. Lol. I have my first orchid and one of two stems already had rot on it when I got it. So after the blooms fell I cut it to the root. But how do you regrow another stem?
Hey Krystal I got a project for you, I want to to buy keki paste and put it on the buds stem to produce a Keki or baby orcid on the stem and see if it works
I needs some help with my bean succulent it’s the same as u yours btw. Mine stopped growing and the beans around the top started shriveling and falling but all the ones around the base of the plant are fine. Idk what could have happened.
I have been wanting to ask you... One of my orchids had a tiny plastic basket thing under the stem with roots in it so I cut that off trying not to hurt the roots but I am wondering if its OK to leave the blooming ones until the blooms fall before removing their little baskets?
All my aerial roots seem crispy and dead and that’s how I got it, the blooms falling off slowly 1 by 1 but the leaves and stem look healthy. Not sure what I should do about the aerial roots though :/
I should have repoted one of my orchids about an year ago, but it bloomed so I didn't want to disturb it. Now I wanted to do it, but it is blooming again. Can I repot it now or should I wait until all of the flowers are dead?
The little bloom drop 😂 I remember a guy gave me an orchid and my mom took care of it with ice cubes and I thought it was so dead when the blooms died so I put the roots in water and when I saw nothing again I threw it away then I came across your tik tok and I was just like 👁👄👁
OK, so my orchid started producing 3 more flower spikes before the original 2 finished blooming. The medium is iffy at best, but I don't know if I should just repot it now b/c of the medium or wait since it's obviously well enough to throw up 3 new spikes. It has no blooms currently, but like I said, it's trying to grow 3 more. Help?
I have an orchid at work that lost its flowers weeks ago. I didn’t cut the stem because it was green. Well there are ‘bud’ looking things growing on it now. What is up with that?
You don’t cut the spike all the way down, you cut down to the last second node Repotting is best when you first get the orchid. You never know when or how long the orchid has been sitting in bark when purchased Never use ice Always water when roots are silver in color or every 10-15 days
Can I have you advice about my elephant ear. She’s slowly dying😢 I was gifted a clipping, I put her in water with some fertilizer. I have a north facing windows and live in 4a zone so I set up a tower with a grow light. What am I doing wrong please guys help
Heyy i came across this video now because i have a orchid from my grandma and it had a bloom on one of the stems when i got it but i took it off when it was like done and i didn't know it had to be cut so it became yellow before i cut it in the middle where it was green above like that node? But it still is dying from that cut point down so i don't know what to do. And also the other stem is healthy and green and the roots are okay. I don't know if you'll see this but please help
Mine always bloom and then they fall off. Then a new stem starts growing and it produces buds. I get so excited! Then one by on, horribly and painfully, all the buds shrivel and DIE. Then, the stem dies, then the plant will linger in agony before finally going to orchid heaven. It’s so sad. I’ve given up on orchids.
I'm so glad you did this video! I saw those buds like that and didn't know what it meant when they were open...it's been used already (closed are good)!!! Maybe just maybe I can get one, and it will live! I always pull them out of their pots at the store to look at the root system thru the clear plastic pot and make sure it is healthy and green! I did learn that! Thanks, Krystal so much! BTW...Can I call you the plant whisperer????
That's a new baby plant. Spray mist water on the roots occasionally & once the roots & leaves on it are abundant, you can snip off the spike just under the roots & pot your new baby 👶🏼 😍💗
Legit the state of all my 9 orchids atm as their blooms fell off this month after 3/4 months of being in bloom 😂
It’s like you know exactly when I need this video 😂
Girl you sooooo funny 🤣 lol love the info thanks to you I just saved another orchid flower 🌷

You crack me up! Great content accompanied with a chuckle! 🥰
This is the best explanation for if a bud will grow another flower back or not. Thanks!
Your energy is so magnetic friend!!
i have some beautiful leaves. The previous caretaker allowed the spikes to die. I love your energy so I'll just watch yours bloom until mine comes back.
Thanks to you, I am getting new blooms!!!🎉🎉🎉

I dont even like plants but this was oddly satisfying
I've been really appreciating these Orchid videos. This was very helpful ❤
Best demo I saw! Quick & easy! Thanks!
I love your excitement. It keeps me going.
I love your smile. It makes me smile.
You're my favorite!! So simple yet informative and I love your personality!! Totally how I am too. I love being silly 🤪

Your videos are THE most helpful source of info on house plants and plant care in general! Love all the hard work ❤❤❤
Excellent video 📹 👏. See you on the next one 😀.
Thank you for this!
I adore your content. I have learned so much and laughed along the way. Thank you!

❤😂🎉... I'm sharing these videos with my friends. I watch & take notes. Now my friends call me to be their plant doctor.😂

You might just be the coolest person.. in the world. 🤘🏻
Can you do a video with more detail as to when to repot an orchid?? I'm still super unsure.
I repot mine every 1 to 2 years, I have about 100 or so orchids
Thank you so much Krystal. 🥰
I think you’re great always very good advice put so well and very entertaining x

Thank you for these plants tips. My mom passed and left a whole bunch of orchids so I'm trying to figure out how to take care of them
You are lucky. Some of us were left cats. 😂
You saved my orchid I was just about to throw it out cuz it hadn’t bloomed in a year and then the spike turned yellow recently I’m so happy you posted this cuz when I got it the flowers were such a beautiful white and I wanted to see them again
What an ace person

perfect timing! the blooms on my double decker orchid have just gone over. I was going to cut the Kiki off and pot it up but I might keep it.
Lately i'm finding some really great plants at the grocerystore and cheap! I'm happy😁
I keep my orchids in water and glass vases. I have 5 and all love it!
She has such a cute personality. Question though- what do I do with it until it blooms? Put it in the sun? Water it or not? How long should that take?
No direct sunlight, inside indirect light or growlight.
Water once a week, or more often if you live in a dry climate 👍🏼
Krystal Put a update on your propagated snake plant please and the snake And the snake plant that you rescued from Walmart 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
Thank you for this video
I love your channel
Thank you!
Thanks! 😊
My spikes are coming in! Gotta wait a bit
This is so helpful
I should have researched before cutting the whole stem off! I'm so mad at myself.
I actually might buy an orchid after watching your videos.
Careful though these things are just as addictive as carnivorous plants
Krystal! ....Please teach how to care for our Bird of Paradise.
im glad i found u!!! what lighting does it like during this phase?
Thank you for your giggle inducing vids. The tips too! I have a spike with a full toddler growing off her mid section. 4 leaves with no signs of air roots. Any suggestions? Do they require finishing school?

I have an orchid that has had blooms for 1 year now.... absolutely insane 😂
I'm in love w chu ❤️
I did this a month ago to a little orchid from Kroger that started losing its blooms, and I already have six buds 🥳
Hey Krystal I got a project for you, I want to to buy keki paste and put it on the buds stem to produce a Keki or baby orcid on the stem and see if it works
Are you cutting below or above the one with the sheath?
Heat lamps....can you do a video on heat lamps please🐥🐤🐣
You are so cute 😊
I accidentally cut the whole stalk from a dormant orchid. I thought the whole thing was just going to die off. Will it come back?
Yes, just takes longer to re-bloom 🌷
Can you advise how to raise new spikes when they all fell of?
I needs some help with my bean succulent it’s the same as u yours btw. Mine stopped growing and the beans around the top started shriveling and falling but all the ones around the base of the plant are fine. Idk what could have happened.
Please tell us what to do with old soil?? Do you reuse somehow or compost or what??
I have been wanting to ask you... One of my orchids had a tiny plastic basket thing under the stem with roots in it so I cut that off trying not to hurt the roots but I am wondering if its OK to leave the blooming ones until the blooms fall before removing their little baskets?

I need more

I got a keiki on my last expired spike!
Have you ever put orchids in lecca?
Do watering bulbs work?
My orchid in water was doing great had some new leafs and started to bloom and it just died and i dont know why
OK, so my orchid started producing 3 more flower spikes before the original 2 finished blooming. I have an orchid at work that lost its flowers weeks ago. I didn’t cut the stem because it was green. Well there are ‘bud’ looking things growing on it now. What is up with that?
How often do they bloom?
I didn't know that, no one wonder there's no blooms
What if I have leaves starting at the top of the stalk? I think it’s called a keikei? It’s been there for a year now. No roots are growing on it yet.
How would you do thatw ith lily's? Mine havent even bloomed yet
Mwah 😢 I cut my spikes off and now my orchid only ever grows leaves.
Mine got left in the cold when I went on holiday how can I save them? I came back to buds too I’m so disappointed!! I don’t think they will bloom now.
You don’t cut the spike all the way down, you cut down to the last second node
Repotting is best when you first get the orchid. You never know when or how long the orchid has been sitting in bark when purchased
Never use ice
Always water when roots are silver in color or every 10-15 days
I cut mine similar to that , It caused a third stem to grow
Can I have you advice about my elephant ear. She’s slowly dying😢 I was gifted a clipping, I put her in water with some fertilizer. I have a north facing windows and live in 4a zone so I set up a tower with a grow light. What am I doing wrong please guys help
I never get blooms back. No matter what they die. Its sad.
Heyy i came across this video now because i have a orchid from my grandma and it had a bloom on one of the stems when i got it but i took it off when it was like done and i didn't know it had to be cut so it became yellow before i cut it in the middle where it was green above like that node? Question i have a yellow stem with leaves what do i do 😢??
Will You rate my little urban garden?

So I followed all your tips and my orchid grew 3 keiki's
My orchid is shooting out roots from near the top of the spikes, what do I do with that???? LOL
That's a new baby plant. Spray mist water on the roots occasionally & once the roots & leaves on it are abundant, you can snip off the spike just under the roots & pot your new baby 👶🏼 😍💗
