SUhh dudes! I almost didn't make this video because I think the go pro has a smudge mark and I was getting discouraged but after editing it I decided to upload it hopefully it's not that distracting! WE HAVE NOW GROWN TO 3000 subs this is crazy! our Fam is getting bigger !! For the whole month of Feb I've been trying to make videos but every time I tired ill give up. my motivation was gone and I wanted a really good video now that we are 3k subs now. So a lot of pressure cause me to over think and not even post but for now, I'm going to keep on going I'm sure you'll guys like a little bit of the video hopefully it helps you guys and talks to me in the comments below !!!

About headlights, if they've got crosses inside the high-beams and they're euro smileys then you just MIGHT have your hands on original Hella dark headlights. For everyone else who lives outside Cali and knows how much these e34 rust, check the sideskirts. If you've got a sunroof then double check the sideskirts again, because the jack points will be the first thing to go. Windshield wiper mechanism wear - likes to bang against the hood when there's a big play on the passenger side. That's just the few things you should watch out for. Proud owner of a 525i (2.8 stroker) for nearly 3 years now despite being in a huge battle against rust last year.
yes Replacement Wiper Requires the whole Unit New Inc Motor. £400 UK. Good used wiper rods are hard to find. I managed to find some good used Wiper rod / arms, ( the ones under the plastic scuttle cover. ) .
Rust is an issue in the UK, Sills Jacking points & door bottoms.
@@A1DJPaul I haven't done my wipers yet but I remember that there was just a bushing that needs replacing.
I live on the Oregon coast, checking & clean all water drain holes to be functional is a must, and maintain the channels under the bonnet & tailgate to be clear of derby

540's use the Aluminium / Alloy V8 engine. Very poor design. Most were Replaced under warranty when Fairly new. They were wearing the bores out at very low mileages.
The Better engine is the M50 525 24v Variable valve timing 2500cc.
Also The old 535, 3.4 unit.
Most V8's in the Uk were automatics, We don't like Auto's here.
They are Useless on tight bendy country lanes in the UK.
540 V8's are rare in the UK, & fetch a very high price.
I was advised Not to buy the V8. If it goes wrong it will end the car, or cost Many thousands to repair.

Look after it correctly & it will be the very best car you will ever own at this price level. it will cost 10's of thousands to buy a better car & then you may not like it.
Rust proof it in all the usual places .
As you Use it, Save up some spare cash each month for one day eventually to restore it to Mint Original by an Expert.
Save whatever you would pay in Finance payments on a small new car.

E46 was totaled last week, had it for 18 months, now I’m looking at e34s I love the styling and look of the car
JaKicks dam that sucks but it’s start of a new chapter I reccomend a manual e34 a 540 is almost as good as a m5 but cost less. 535 is torquey. 525 with m50 is best bang for buck !

Great video as always, E34's are very reliable, engine wise the 2.4TD is less reliable than the others. My parents bought a 92 525i brand new, I learnt to drive on that car, really missed it, when my parents decided to replace it, it had 187K miles on the clock, without any issues other than basic maintenance.
isn't 525tds the least reliable?
The 2.5 tds is far more reliable than the 2.4td so many of them had issues. BMW had that engine on the first e39.
Rear strut towers on e34-s can be bent/warped if the car has been through a lot of abuse.You can check that by watching the car strait from the back side and if one side is lower then other while both springs are fine then one tower is probably bent. You can prevent that in your e34 if you are tracking or drifting it by putting rear strut brace or even better welding reinforcement to the towers with cross bars.
Worst thing I ever replaced on my e34 was the rear subframe bushes. A Major job, so worth checking out. But not overly apparent they`re on the way out till you really start to feel a handling difference!
What's the lifespan on those? Trying to convince my partner to get an E34 after she sells her Ford Territory, but subframe bushing cost and lifespan was a big reason we're selling that car to begin with lol.
@@Zonda1996 I'd say just check them out, if they don't look bad then they've been changed. They'll only need done once. Don't cost a lot to change yourself just budget a whole day's work

Question, there's a e34 525i 5sp near me that's in great condition. Interior and exterior are in great shape. Car is about 8/10. Lady is asking $6,500 for it. KBB is $2,300. What a reasonable offer in this inflated market. Car has 150 miles on it. Any input would be appreciated

@@StacheCam An e34 with like a m54b28 or even b25, a turbo , all black and with the dark brown leather interior is my dream car. Throw some bbs's and put it on air whit a big sub in the trunck. I sware to God, if I ever can do that on the level i dream of (with plenty of attention to the small details) i don't think I would ever sell that car. Hell, if the future fucks petrol up, i may consider even swapping an electric drive-train in there, if i can keep the manual transmission, of course :))
Hey New subscriber!! My uncle gave me his 1993 525i it was just collecting dust but I drove it from LA to Sacramento! 2 issues were the Shaking at the 55mph and rough idle at a stop light. Can you go more into detail about the Shaking? Is it the thrust arm?

Niccce I recommend fluid changes and check vacuum leaks. You should replace all arms when you are under there. Just cause if you replace lower than a month later they will go back because the upper arms never were changed
These cars were like the middle man/happy medium of classic BMW sedans. One of the first cars that had airbags standard, but still doesn't cost as much to own as a newer gen BMW sedan. I would definitely consider one of these, since these were also one of the last cars that still can take regular 87 octane in the tank.

Yeah I use a facebook page called bimmerfourms e34 group. also check the bimmerfourms website. if you have engine trouble you can also check fourms related to e36M50 and e32M30 or M60 because they share engines with e34 body chassis. i shall make a more inform video when buying a e34 !

About to buy E34 525i, im so excited, do you know did 525i '91 came with LSDs some poeple say they got it stock with the car some say they never came and do you know how can i check if i got LSD is there extra letter on there? The car that i found and going to check is Euro Spec has heated seats, all electric windows, its been restorated aswell by the owner who now has to sell it due to growing family.
Fox1e in another video he said if it has seat warmers it has LSD, from what I’ve read it’s bc it’s the winter package

Dude I have s 535i e34, my buddy has a 525 and a 530 and all of them have this issue with the gas door not wanting to stay shut. They will constantly want to open up slightly. So annoying. Lol. We have fixed the issue with a really small piece of some good velcro that has some kinda sticky shit or tape on the back sides so you can stick it wherever

Hi Stache. Q on a used 525i. I tested one and started the engine (started up just fine and sounds great). But white smoke (not a whole lot) started coming out from underneath the engine block. I had the owner back up the car about a meter or so to check. There were a couple of spots of oil. Worn out gaskets? Or sign of something worse? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!
Brian Tycangco sounds like a typical e34. Next time you go check for coolant in the oil. If the white smoke smells sweet, stay away. The smoke usually goes away after it warms up. It’s usually condensation from the exhaust. The oil leak might be from oil pan or oil filter housing gasket. (Very common). Check the back of valve cover to see and leaks from gasket. Make sure to have the car running for a while to see if it’s going to over heat.
theres a guy selling a 525i near me for $7000; 65,xxx miles, Nice red paint, like new interior and engine bay looks super clean too. looks like the thing rolled off the BMW factory last month. it sucks I got no money though.

IN the UK, Watch for Rust on door bottoms, wear in the STEERING BOX = Mis use or very High miles, Way above 200,000 Miles. Wandering on a level road / Motorway. the car will Waver all over the place.
The Cure :-
Use a Qualified Mechanic due to Safety. Bad steering is Deadly & a UK MOT Fail.
loosen the Locking Nut on the Steering box , & adjust using an allen key to tighten the Steering box. REMEMBER to TIGHTEN THE LOCK NUT .
drive & Try, Then Adjust More As Appropriate, . It will Take a while , Do NOT OVER ADJUST,
YOU Will Not be able to Turn the wheel !!
If it will Not Adjust, Then A New Steering box is needed At HUGE Cost New, Or Buy a Good one 2nd hand. Well Over £1200 +Vat & Fitting . $1500. Half the Price of a good e34.

Hey I’ve had my 95 525i for about a year no issues but now out of nowhere I hear a very low humming grinding noise when I accelerate and also while idling it sounds like it’s pumping gas from under the hood but the car still drives fine and normal any advice
Timing chain
A Rattling / Tinkling noise on a rough road is usually steering Drop links = a very common easy fix. Never Buy a " BOY RACER cAR with Lowered Suspension & Modified Parts , UNLESS YOU are WILLING to REPLACE them ALL to Suit YOUR Needs .
Try to buy ORIGINAL CARS & Keep them ORIGINAL.
IF you wish to MODIFY one , Buy a Rough Example / almost Wrecker & Restore it Your WAY.
