Samsons a good man, you can tell
I never get emotional really but when they called Samsons name as Mr O and he dropped to his knees man I got teary. Felt like I was part of it such a worthy champ
“I’d tear this world apart to prove my point” - Samson Dauda when asked about the abuse his wife received from media leading up to the Olympia. That gave me goosebumps. That line just personifies dedication to the point of desperation. Fucking beautiful. Passion is beautiful

I met Samson back in 2020 before is rise to fame in the bodybuilding world. Even back then when he wasn’t winning shows he was still as humble as he is now. Took the time to talk to me after his training session despite being 1 week out from the Europa Pro. It’s been a pleasure to see himself journey to success, if there’s anyone who deserves it, it’s him.
I like how he says ”when we won” never leaves her out

I respect Samson because he doesn't talk down about other competitors, he doesn't talk down about the sport, he doesn't talk about gifts, he doesn't talk down about judges, he just talks about believing in himself and he always has. All he has ever done was talk about the day he was gonna win. He's never put down Hadi, Derek, Andrew, Brandon. He's literally just said he's gonna win. When he didn't he didn't rant, he never blamed anyone, he just accepted it wasn't his time. And when he won he didn't act like like he was leagues ahead of anyone. He was thankful. And he's showing it. Unlike the last 20 years when the Mr O just disappeared.
We’ve seen many successful athletes mess it up, but honestly this guy is humble, down to earth champion. Him and Derick will dominate the Olimpia for being so humble and spot on. Take it ‘African Rhino’

Met Samson for the first time in 2019 at the UK Pro show. Nathan won and James was third. He seemed really humble. A year or so later the pleasure of working alongside Samson, his training partner Antonny and AJ doing lockdown commentary for the lockdown Olympia. The set up was in Pumped Media studios in Wigan and we did it for MD. We sat through hours of bodybuilding till 5.00am. Then we found a Macdonalds next to our hotel. Then it's back a few hours later to do the next day. Had a lot of laughs doing that. AJ and I always belived in him and we often conversed saying what could happen to him.
Then the Arnold UK - 2nd to Nathan again. His coach John Meadows died 8 weeks earlier and Samson's routine was one of the best tributes I've ever seen. Art and respect.Then the following year's Arnold UK we were in the company of Samson and Mel most of the show just behind the judges. Later that night we chatted till around 3.00am in the hotel foyer. That's when I discovered how much his wife Mel knew. At the time, Andrew Jacked was being hyped a lot. She really rated him, but was able to spot things in his physique that Samson could exploit. Stuff that most people don't see. She was also able to give my pal AJ some great advice that has stood him in good stead. Met them other times since then and they were always gold. Even after winning the Olympia, they both gave me time. I respect them for that. To see Samson emotional about the abuse she got is real. They are the real thing.
Then on to the 2024 Arnold UK. He was getting closer to Hadi. A couple of judges had him ahead. Me and my pal of many decades Gav shouted ourselves hoarse. Samson and Mel were moving closer to being best in the world. Then it's Olympia time. The finals ended around 7am for us in Europe and AJ and I continually conversed throughout the show. Then he won! He was Norway - I in UK, but we were both jumping for joy - both emotional for the win that Samson and Mel so richly deserved. Now they have hit the sweet spot. Now you will see what one of the world'ds greatest physiques will look like come the Arnold Classic.

I also have good genetics for bodybuilding, and in my life people have told be I should be a bodybuilder. Similar background as Samson too as far as sports, but mine was wrestling, and soccer. I'm 48 now and I regret not ever trying it. But just like Samson, I could not see myself doing that. Guess my point is that if you are gifted in something, go for it. Don't grow old and regret.

The matter of fact is that without Milos, Samson would not be where he is today!!!!
I think the story is becoming diluted. It doesn’t change, and he’s told it across various podcasts. It’s a beautiful story. However, the next person was able to get an interview with him is going to have to figure out other things to pull from him. What happened with Milos? What are some stories he can tell us about his dealings with fellow IFBB pros? Which are the guys who have helped him? What kind of a role did the Manions play in all of this? What’s been the advice he’s gotten from Steve Weinberger specifically? I can go on and on with a lot more interesting directions. The next interviewer can go in.

One of the realest people I’ve ever met. Crazy to think I met him the day before he won the Olympia. He’s become one of my biggest inspirations knowing how our journeys are so similar. One day, the world will know me as well.
