- Bad News were a spoof rock band, created for the Channel 4 television series The Comic Strip Presents. This was recorded from Channel 4's The Tube.
The band members were:
Vim Fuego (aka Alan Metcalfe),
Vocals and lead guitar (played by Adrian Edmondson),
Den Dennis, rhythm guitar (Nigel Planer),
Colin Grigson, bass (Rik Mayall), and
Spider Webb, drums (Peter Richardson)

A sad day for all of us today. we have lost a man who made ourselves piss with laughter during one of the most depressing decades of the last century. Thank you for the laughs Rik and Rest in Peace sir.

They must have had a blast making this. The audience watching them knowing its literally the Young Ones (minus Mike obviously) performing a live sketch right in front of them.
Technically, this is the 'proper' young ones. Peter Richardson was initially supposed to play Mike. The part was written with him in mind.

This was the decade of my teens and Bad News were bloody brilliant. Then The Young Ones came along the same time. Rick, Adrian and Nigel were magic together on the show. RIP Rick Mayall. Bring back the Eighties, hoorah

Better than Spinal Tap and I love Spinal Tap. Saw it in the theater in 1984.
I don't know about anybody else but when i see Ade as Vim i think he is very good looking he has an attractive face.
One of the best bands of all time and proper honest.

yeah i loved him. i had the dvd of all six films that he did. i think claire de lune was one of my favourites. & dancing queen. but i loved him in bottom & the young ones more.
