I recommend a round bale feeder. A LOT less hay will be wasted. I had to learn it the hard way. My horses would pick the hay apart, stomp a lot of it into the ground, piss on it etc... now very little is wasted. I got mine at Tractor Supply and it was around $500 a couple years ago. This one: CountyLine 1 Round bale 8 ft. x 50 in. Equine Pro Galvanized Sheeted Bale Feeder for Horses with Hay Saver. BTW, only good for horses or cattle without horns.
Not a good idea to use a bale ring while feeding sheep and cattle together. He's not wasting any hay, Marvin is building his soil health With all that carbon and manure.

@@dkeith45 thanks for watching. I’m worried my sheep would get injured if I have a round bale feeder with my cattle.

Marvin, your cattle look really good!
@ thanks! I try make my animals work for me instead of the other way around. The got the cattle from Greg Judy so that helps a lot.
@@marvinbaier3627 what is your plan for your bull calves?
Fat healthy looking cows. Look great!
@@jasonmobley9988 thanks for watching!
Next time ..unroll it completely...let them eat the entire bale ..also the seeds will germinate a larger area to regrow grass
@@jamesgalbreath6331 thanks for watching! I do both ways because I want to see the difference later. Also, I don’t have a bale unroller yet.
