Nah, it wasn’t a 10 because that was a solid landing but not a stick. But it’s a triple back. Lord have mercy. And a double layout to end. Amazing.

    I'm pretty sure it's not a deduction.

@DuhustBus000 I agree, he did not land with feet together after the triple.

ive always wanted to know, is it a deduction for him being all over the place during those flares? Or is that considered a technique?

Next thing you know a woman is going to do the Triple back skill! Or any skill that a man does.

LOL, I have NO DOUBT that he did a great job and deserved gold. I just don't think he deserves the 10 at all for those 2 reasons I stated. Just because someone does a damn good triple back doesn't mean that there aren't deductions in the routine. I love this floor, but it is not a 10. Keep in mind that I am not saying this judging by today's standards, but by 1992's, for if they were today's standards, form would also be an issue.

This really didnt deserve the 10, even for 1992 standards, for two reasons really:
    1. He landed crooked on the triple back
    2. He seemed like he was going to fall at the end of his flairs on the spinning handstands (the last one)

Plus that spin and forward lunge thing to his stomach after the first pass was probably needed to avoid falling, it was basically a cover for a fall. He was badly off balance on the landing of the first pass. I was fine with his score and him winning but no way did he deserve a 10.

tyler bam He was definitely off balance on the landing (which to some degree you’d expect in landing something that insane), but I don’t think he was at risk of falling. He could have stood that up but he was trying to avoid taking a step on the landing and incurring a way more obvious deduction. I don’t think he would have fell. He performed this same routine at worlds earlier that year and he overrotated the triple so much that he definitely had no control and had to quickly spin and go to the push up. That was definitely going to be a fall had he not done that. Nevertheless , the triple was incredible and done well enough to warrant the score he got, but there was a flaw in execution so you can’t give that a 10.
