If you're not eating or using your hands for some delicate work where your hands stay clean, you ought to be using some kind of gloves- even $1 gloves! You can always wash them in a bucket & re-use them, and you can get them with the grippy/water-resistant coating. I use them for working in the shrubs, pulling weeds, clearing ;leaves; you never know what's hiding under there- like bees or spiders!
Agreed!

Got a 4 inch scar just above my left knee from a chainsaw. No major damage. I will NEVER use one without chaps ever again.
Wow, lucky day for you. Its just not worth the risk no matter how tough you are. We all bleed the same, ha ha. Glad you were OK.

Same. I'm an arborist and went out and paid $1,000 for two pairs of protective pants the day after.
Gotta admit I'm a little afraid of my chainsaw and i've been handling hand tools and powered tools for over 40 years
I guess you call that respect.Thew older I get the more I respect a lot of things I had no fear of just a few short years ago. Be safe!!

I can joke with you. The nurse said that I calist fingers/hands.
It pays to have gloves. Gotta keep those hands soft and supple, lol!!
