Thank you so much for this video! My husband and I just did this hike and snorkel-it was epic! Your video helped me prepare for the trek. Also, this was one of my dad’s favorite places, I paid honor to him here and felt his presence. He just passed at 93. Mahalo. I wish everyone a wonderful time at this special place.

Hi, thank you. What a great tribute to your dad, it’s a wonderful place. I’m glad my video was useful and hopefully helped make the hike a bite more pleasant. It’s a very special place.

You have one of the best videos on this hike.
Also the camera footage, pretty boss.
I’ll check this place out. I’ll be there in late aug through first part of September.

Nice video! Thx for sharing. I didn’t get to go to two step but I did snorkel three times at dog beach. Super cool spot!!

Hi, thank you. We are going back to the big island next spring and two step is definitely on the list. Hopefully I will post a video about it next year. Take care.

The Captain Cook Monument is a great place to snorkel and see lots of fish and different types of coral. We have been there twice, and we recommend going by boat, the hike back up in the sun is brutal. Another great place to snorkel on the Big Island is Two Step Beach.

Hi, yes the hike up can be tough for those not prepared. I hope people got that message in my video. I haven't been to Two-Step, but it's on my list for our trip next month. Hopefully I will have a video out about it in April. Thanks.

Be sure your snacks are in mongoose-safe containers. Groceries are expensive in Hawaii and the little buggers at the monument are ruthless about taking snacks!

Good point. I haven’t seen any at the monument, but you’re right they are around and I’ve probably just been lucky.

FYI-,the ropped off area,at the monument is actualy " England" it belongs to them gifted by US, and Hawaii. So if you go inside you are in "England".

Hi, yes it is. I made my quickest trip from England to the US by stepping over the line once.
