    Sermon Notes:
    Matthew 22:33
And when the multitudes heard this, they were astonished at His teaching.
    Matthew 22:34
But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together.
    Matthew 22:35-36
Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
    Matthew 22:37-38
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.
    Matthew 22:39-40
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
    Romans 13:8-9
Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” …
    Romans 13:8-9
…and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
    Romans 13:10
Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
    Acts 21:13
For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
    Psalm 34:1
    I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Notes: 1. we want to please the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind. 2. u love someone with all your heart, be loyal to them. 3. Be anxious to love and extoll the LORD and tell others about Him, 4. Make the Lord and His WORD the central focus of their LOVE.

Dr. Lon thank you for this excellent presentation. Your ending prayer was very inspirational, because it alluded to our fallen nature as we attempt to love God with all our might. Because we have inherited original sin we will not be perfect in our attempt to honor God. However, believing, trusting and accepting that Jesus as our savior opens the door for the Holy Spirit to show us how to love God with all our might. Maybe you could elaborate more on this aspect of loving God in a future presentation. Happy New Year! 🎉

People these days are so critical of everyone else in their own pride and selfishness it’s hard to love people for me so I need the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to display God’s love to them for the sake of Jesus who was crucified for that person and I have to repeat to myself Jesus loves this person and not try to look at what I think about this (sinner)person and extend it because Jesus forgave me.
