As you mentioned, they each have rather distinct timbres, but I love that they are all able to blend so well when not singing the lead. It's a mark of both their talent and the talent of their audio engineer.
Their 1st tenor left VoicePlay about a year ago, so they have been featuring guest tenors as they're auditioning to find a new one. I'm hoping that the fact that Deejay has been in so many of their songs this year means that he might join as their new tenor 1. To my knowledge, they have not started auditions for a new baritone after J None yet, though. As he leaves, they're currently two members short. This means that they're only three regular members at the moment: Geoff Castellucci (bass), Layne Stein (vocal percussion) and Eli Jacobsen (tenor 2).
I would not consider J a true baritone. I would think someone like Chance from home free would be. But they have a lot of work to do to fill his shoes. They still haven’t replaced earl.
Awesome job by VoicePlay!! 🥰🥰🥰 Many of us have been pushing for VP to make Deejay a regular member. In a Q&A a few days ago, they said he is not a VP member, only a collaborator. But in the past they said they get along with him real well, and they'd love to have him join. I believe Deejay was in Hamilton, as a backup. Maybe he wants to go back to Hamilton? The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind!
I'm only speculating but because of Disney World's proximity, VoicePlay would know and be able to get many great vocalists to work with them locally. Most big cities have an active music scene, but Orlando would have more specialists in "show tune" kinds of music because Disney hires so many to work in their shows. Here in Ottawa, we have a folk fusion tradition where most of the musicians cut their teeth on folk music, but branch out into other styles as they get experience. This also leads to what my wife calls 'passing your bass player one band to the left." Her fiddle teacher was also the bassist for a number of short-lived bands who couldn't agree on what styles to play. As you know, there is always a shortage of really good rhythm section musicians.
Seems like a call to action with the timing of its release. Fighting & lives being lost is always devastating. The message to examine yourself first is convicting, but needed for true change.

I agree that Deejay would be a great addition and it looks like that given he was in both of the last two videos.
Good thing Eli can sing baritone as well.

I thought I was the only one thinking about the lack of resolution on the end, it made me think about the end of their Tennessee whiskey cover
