"Under promise, over deliver."
I love that! That is pure motivation. 🔥
Travis - what I absolutely love is you have a shelf...empty...but waiting for that gold UA-cam plaque. That is some epic goal setting. I love your stuff and keep it up.
The one thing I love about being a musician is how other musicians in the community isn't afraid to share knowledge amongst each other to succeed, this is soooo cool!
So I’m a bass player. I officially became a full time musician last year. Being musical director at a church, and now playing in an agency band as well as hitting with some local groups when I get the call. The issue I’ve found now is finding out how to expand. When you’re learning music, and preparing stuff for church where do you find the time to work on the craft itself?
This is exactly what I needed to hear. Thanks for uploading 👌🏾
really great stuff man! Thankyou for constantly sharing your knowledge and experience with us, it really helps!
Well done, Travis. Great info, presentation and organization!
You truly are a treasure Travis. Thank you for your videos
Awesome video Travis! Keep up the good work!
This is so helpful man, thank you for sharing this info 🙏🏽
Brother! You are definitely giving the game away and sharing the tools! I greatly appreciate your sharing this!
Travis - Thanks for sharing this information! This is very helpful and very much appreciated.
Thank you so much for all the information. I appreciate it.

As a touring LD, this is all relatable! Sharing!
Thanks. It’s very helpful.
Great video!
I’m still using my 2012 MacBook Pro, things a freakin champ!! It’s starting to slow down though. Lots of great info, thank you!
Great tips! I would sum them up as being an Entrepreneur. You have to really know your brand, and how it can help fill needs from people who are willing to pay you for your talents. Cheers!
Very good!
Bro playing with cici winans is crazy!!!!
Extremely helpful! Any advice on becoming a wedding or corporate singer?
You also play the perfect instrument to get gig's consistently once the word gets out your reliable. Bass players are always in demand. 🤘👊👊
Thanks bro I'm just learning how to teach and be a people person😅. This video was much needed.
i love tht moog in the backgroud
The best advice I ever got from a buddy of mine that made it big in Nashville (plays for Justin Moore and Luke Combs and previously played with Billy Ray Cyrus) was “BE A GOOD HANG”. If you’re not cool to hang out, you might as well move out of Nashville.
Thank u
Hey Trav. Can we please get a copy of ur Playlist? I mean the one with different bass genres. It would help starters like us build ours too. Thanks.
Hey Travis, which MacBook did you upgrade to?
I like this video but if you see this I would like to see more shorts of you playing
❤❤❤❤❤
i like the new hair travis big fan, maybe one day we can collab at a gig together??
Miss watching your vlogs brooooo😢
I get paid in bread and grape juice as a musician; albeit, I am not a professional musician.
😂😂 I got paid in BBQ at the beginning of my career!
lol
This is dope. Lol it’s like I never find a video on UA-cam that shows the exact steps on what you do once you get paid. Is it by creating an LLC? If so, how does that work? Do you pay tax? Do you get paid cash under the table or is it in checks? Cashapp? Venmo? Zelle? PayPal? I think this area is where I’m always stuck at when it’s about making money in music full time. If Anyone tcan lead me in any useful direction
Full time gig
Hey Travis, You wanna be my friend? 😂
Honestly I can't wait to leave Colorado. Colorado might be great for marijuana and mental health and outdoor activities but it sucks when it comes to musicians. A couple years ago I tried to collaborate with a musician because he was looking for somebody to sing jazz standards with. He was going to play piano and I would've been the vocalist. Worst experience of my life, he was the biggest jerk ever and he pushed me down the steps because he didn't like how I did the music or what suggestions I wanted to make. I have a real problem with egotistical people. I don't know what's in the water here in Colorado but I don't like the people here.
Anyone that refers to performing live as a "gig" is not someone anyone should take advice from.
I've made my living in this business as a performer for the last 25+ yrs and anytime someone comes in with that mindset, I always let them go within weeks.
Small time thinking breeds small time results.
I understood early on to learn every aspect of this business and not need to ever be "hired".
That information is there for everyone.
If you put yourself in a place of being a "hired gun"..that is the most you will ever be.
Just charge your worship leaders or else you leave
Like send them a bill for your playing time? Am I correctly understanding your suggestion?
I thought this was gonna be a vid about what it's like to work at McDonalds... 😅
