I don't know why because I watch this stuff all the time but I'm always amazed at how many watches are out there. You can't buy a Rolex at an authorized dealer but there are a million of them in the hands of the grey market dealers. It's absolutely crazy!
Facts.
They just buy and sell amongst themselves and claim that there are loads of transactions, the grey market prices have stabilized, and drive up the prices. Watches don’t end up on the wrist of the end users.

Fedex offers that with anything shipped with the first overnight or international first priority labels

Miami Beach Antique & Jewelry/Watch Show was rocking hard this weekend. Lots of retail customers and a fair bit of b2b happening. Was amazing. Enjoyed spending some time talking to Roman about Daniel Roth and the brands that are starting to get the recognition and love they deserve. Convinced me to finally pull the trigger to get my LLC and make this a real side hustle. No slinging subs for me, unique pieces.

The watch market is one of the only markets I have observed where every buyer negotiates baked in profit. After a watch goes through 5 or 6 sets of hands, all that baked in surplus artificially raises the prices of the watches. Folks get priced out and the final owner stands there holding the bag, claiming the market is down. SMH. Wow
That may be true but that's why it's important to know your retail price.

2024 market prediction is negative according to them. I’d tend to agree. We are trending downwards and I don’t see an end in sight. We’ll all know when the floor is hit. Right now this isn’t rock bottom yet

why are there so many straps mounted backwards ? the buckle strap should be at 12. My OCD is getting triggered.
Some brands including GS and Patek do this, it is not common but also not unheard of. The purpose is to have a cleaner look from the outside of the wrist, so that you don’t see the tail end of the strap (which is facing you, instead of outwards)

I've also been hearing the hole in the ozone, acid rain and global warming are going to wipe us out but here we all are...watches are just a small segment of the overall jewelry/luxury goods market and aren't going anywhere
