You don't spend much time around scientists or historians, do you? He states clearly when he is stating a fact (eg. The walls at X mosque constructed in year Y, faces directly between Petra and Mecca) and when he is stating a hypothesis (eg. He believes this direction was chosen because of a split in Islamic beliefs due to civil wars).
This documentary is silly to the point of being debunked with a couple quick observations: There's no city adjacent to Petra nowhere near it called Taif, only a couple of villages near it, and as we know, Makka has a neighbor sister city called Taif. About Mecca being greener during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, a quick research on Google and you'll find that during the time of Muhammad, Arabia passed through a period called "Late Antique Little Ice Age" where the climate was colder and the Arabic peninsula was much more fertile than today. Wonder why he omitted this little crucial detail from his research? Also, if Makka is actually Petra, where is the ZamZam well?

No, they do not "worship" the stone, meteor or not... It's just an icon/symbol for them... My curiosity is, why do Muslim people believe in their Muslim god without making comparison with the God of the Bible and then ask these questions: Does the god of the Muslims make any claim that he is the god that had created the Heaven and the Earth and all things in these worlds? Why is there (no) mention of salvation by any means from their god for his believers? Has the god of the Muslims ever promised to all his believers that he will create a brand-new heaven and a new earth for his worshipers and will bring them to this new earth in due time? Will there be a resurrection of the dead Muslims, and the rapture, by the Muslim god in the future?
