Nope. He did play rythm guitar for some reason, and drums of course. Sting sang lead and backing vocals and played bass. Henry Padovani played the solo (which I prefer to Andy's).
Cmon! December 2021 and only 33 likes? This vintage footage from over 40 years ago shows just how raw and awesome the Police were. bands today don't hold a candle to these guys. Andy Summers and that telecasters, AWESOME!

The boys are brilliant! It was their debut single and had promise of much better things to come.

Compared to the CLASSIC POLICE "Fall out" is a "nice punch in the stomach"...it has a crazy PUNK twist that looking back on their works you would never expect from STING & CO. The POLICE debuted with this first single included in the beautiful PUNK COLLECTION collection released for the RCA VICTOR label in 1977: the glorious RAMONES also belonged to this "angry condominium" together with other very good groups who, however, did not have the same fortunes.. .!!! ❤ 👍✌
