  • An unsponsored and honest review of the hospitality experience at AFC Bournemouth in the "Cherry Orchard". What do you get for your money? How much does it cost? Is it worth the money? What did we think of the experience?
    We go behind the scenes for a matchday “on the inside”, including footage from player interviews, Tom Jordan at his quizzing best, and a special presentation for one of our own - Jeff Hayward's 60th birthday.
    Plus, of course, a little bit of the action as Cherries drew 2-2 with Tony Harrington’s Manchester United.

    I really enjoyed seeing that side of things, so thanks. We've come a long way from the days when I stood behind the goal as a nipper singing about Archers pies and pasties. Also, I used to chant "Cox Out". I was 10...I didn't even know that it could stand for anything else!

    Fairplay to Supa, saying it as it is on stage with Christie.
    That decision was a disgrace and there are so many parallels you can draw with other teams.
    VAR isn't fit for purpose, it's ruining the game and needs to go!
    Then it's down to ref at the time
    Yes, refs got it wrong a lot before VAR, but VAR that was supposed to erase all doubt and make things fair, is actually ruining the game because the computer isn't making the decision due to it's programming and rules, it's just showing retired refs different angles and they make the call!
    So what is the difference between an actual human ref and VAR? There isn't one! The final decision lies with a human, based on their interpretation of what the playback shows them!
    It's a farce and I would rather an actual ref than a computer that records footage for the same refs to misinterperate and get the decision. Wrong anyway!
    Yes I'm a Bournemouth fan and sound bitter, but that's not the case, I've been saying if for years now, it needs to stop!
    Furthermore....
    If you are going to keep VAR, why not make it nationwide so that all divisions have it?
    That answer is that all the money is in the top flight and there are so many flaws and so much corruption, the lower leagues are not worth the hassle
    Basically there is nothing in it and nothing to be gained for suspect calls outside of the prem.
    It's disgusting and I hate it, just get rid!

    First goal came from overwatering the pitch. I mean, Dom managed to stay up but ignore that.
    Great summary of the hospitality experience. Perfect birthday present.

    Interesting vid, Sam. Undoubtedly, the whole hospitality thing will become increasingly important, particularly when we move into the new stadium. Nothing against it, so long as we remember to retain plenty of moderately priced tickets for those of lesser means, particularly the young. They are the future lifeblood of this club. Hope we don't forget about them in the scramble for the corporate dollar.

    Thanks for that, but it's a no from me - a couple of pints and a bag of chips would do me fine ta, £300 a pop think only companies can afford that kinda bill ( as they can put against their tax ) 🤔

  • @ianthomson6554
    @ianthomson6554 21 день тому

    In terms of Hospitality at AFCB, I have been very lucky enough to do it a few times through work, with someone else footing the bill. Also, I have done it, at a couple of other Premier League clubs
    The experience is on par with other clubs, who are all expensive IMO.
    Would I personally pay for it out of my own pocket, probably no but many people are more wealthy than me.
    It is a choice thing and whilst we are in the Premier League, it largely forms an attractive Sales opportunity for many Companies, for entertaining their clients

    Well done Tom on the Matt Le Tissier stat but they should have clarified as by Premier League they meant 1992 onwards. Matt actually had 443 top division matches but he made his debut in 1986/87.

      @afcbpodcast  21 день тому +1

      I think they did say Premier League at the time but that part may have been cut from the vlog. PS: They did have another tie-breaker before this question by guessing Rio Ferdinand’s PL apps, but both Tom and his opponent were 122 out (either side!). Absolute madness!
