High School Boys Treated Like Women in Congress | Field Tripped

- Men make up 80% of congress, which means they have the majority vote on issues that directly affect women. This EPIC high school teacher is on a mission to show his male students what it feels like for the women in congress who don't have an equal say on policies that specifically affect females. In a vote about school policies, the tables have turned... 80% female students and 20% male students vote on policies such as reduced dance ticket prices for women and location of men's lockers. How do the male students feel when they are outnumbered and outvoted? #congress #genderequality #feminism

The ways the boys in this class are reacting during a situation that is genuinely unfair and biased is exactly how 90% of my male peers act when they don’t get what they want.
@_jeff _ two cents
Same for me but the opposite lmao. When females don't get what they want, they'll reside in feminism and inequality. It's also quite evident in this video that females will usually just agree with anything good for them and look the other way otherwise.
One guy looked like he was gonna cry like bro calm down, we just wanna stop being sexually harassed
Just imagine how the white girls would react.
I wish that more schools could make awareness of this, imagine how brighter the future would be if schools showed students the inequality.
I go to school for an education. A NEUTRAL education, mind you. Not to have some persons ideologies and agenda shoved down my throat.
@@LZBong Exactly.
@@LZBong equality is a political agenda? You're telling on yourself buddy.
I wish more men could have this experience!
We already do in the modern school system...
They should have also voted on some boy bias policies too. Seeing how the guys feel about not having a big enough majority to get through policies that matter and effect them.
Tessa Claire it was exactly that that happened!!
Girls get 21% discount on school items.
"Because girls spend so much on prom"
Lmao
WE NEED MORE TEACHERS LIKE THIS!!! THANK YOU FOR ACTUALLY TEACHING !!!
we need more teachers that hot
,,Teaching,, lol
Tell that to the Islamic schools and demand the end of Shariah law. That is ironic considering the inseparable nature of religion and state with regards to that ideology.
@Did you just objectify a male ?
@@peterjamesleeching829 not really, It was a compliment
This was just an experiment guys..... you can all relax. There's no need to get so triggered by this.
You aré awsome that i subscribed and my school is watching it know
Evolved Blob Saying "This is BS" is not disagreeing it is getting butthurt
Evolved Blob Because.... reasons
an experiment to spread a message...and noone's getting triggered by this they're just pointing out how the experiment isn't the same situation
yup true +srsgames
Great experiment. ALTHOUGH I'm actually a bit concerned that the vast majority of girls didn't hesitate a second to vote in favor or gender-segregation. Am I the only one who thinks there might be a problem there?
it seemed the girls were looped in on this experiment but not the boys? they applauded for the boys before the teacher explained the situation
Goes to show that women can be equally as sexist as men. Well, DOH
even if they are in on it it does not correlate to real life. Male politicians in Congress do not vote against women's issues on purpose because they are "in one it". It's their own political stance on issues. Their is no behind the scenes scheme to vote against women's issues
The girls were in on it, they were told beforehand to do it.
But it was only to show the boys what it was like
"Round of applause for the boys"??? WHY, WHY, WHY??? What did they do that deserved it??? Do women in Congress get a round of applause from Congress after they vote???? WTF.
Whenever any UA-cam channel posts a video that speaks about how women are, in some cases, treated unfairly, there are more dislikes than average, the comment section is a horror show of misogynistic statements, and everyone in the comments !suddenly! becomes an expert on economics and politics and why inequality doesn't actually exist. I think that just proves exactly the point that these videos are attempting to make.
So since you believe we live in an objectively fair "meritocracy" and men are consistently chosen over women by a four-to-one margin, it sounds like you just believe that women aren't as good as men -- taking that to its logical conclusion.
I reject that line of reasoning, so I think we need to look at external factors that are holding women back.
Evolved Blob Ah yes, the one woman who actually has a fair shot at becoming President for the first time in 227 years just proves how much of a not-boys-club our higher-up governmental positions are. Oh please. The fact that it's taken this long for a woman to seriously be considered as a Presidential candidate is proof of inequality, not proof of equality. I think anyone can see that much.
Did I even say anything there about why I think Hillary Clinton is unpopular? I didn't say she was unpopular because she was a woman anywhere so I don't know where you pulled that counterpoint out from.
I am well aware that there have been female presidential candidates in the past. That's why I specifically stated that it's the first time a woman has been "seriously considered." Never in the past has it been a remote possibility that one of those women would have actually become POTUS. I don't have to wriggle out of anywhere because you're arguing points that I haven't even mentioned in my comments at all to make yourself seem like you're right. Learn how to argue before being smug about it.
By the way, the 1970s were less than 50 years ago and this country has had a President for over 200 years, so that's less than 1/4 of U.S. history that women have been Presidential candidates (and not until this year have any of them had a distinct chance of winning). So I think that helps my argument, not yours.
Evolved Blob Hillary is the first serious female presidential candidate.. she's the first female to have the nomination for either of the major political parties in U.S. history.. what about that is so hard for you to understand? That is not an argument fail just because you say it is.
Just because one woman or one person of color is able to achieve a position of power doesn't mean that racist and sexist ideologies no longer persist throughout this country. Does it show that there's been progress? Yes. Does it mean that racism and sexism have ended? No.
Do you undertand the difference between actually winning a nomination in the primaries and "being a nominee?" Literally anyone can run to be a nominee in the primaries, there are no elections you need to win for that. But no woman has ever made it past the primary stage in the Democrat or Republican Party UNTIL now, which means no woman has ever seriously had a shot at becoming President.
And no, my logic does not follow to that conclusion about Communists because the election process in the United States is not comparable to what happened during the Russian Revolution and the subsequent Civil War that ultimately led to Lenin coming into power. Your use of logical fallacies in your arguments is the clearest proof that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, but you want to seem intelligent anyway. Which you're failing at, by the way.
And if you really think that sexism and racism "of the past" "are over" then I'm done having this argument because you're so off base that it's not even worth my time. Sexism and racism have evolved and taken many new and different forms over the years, so yes, things such as state sanctioned segregation, lynching, and lack of women's voting rights are "over" and racism and sexism no longer display themselves through those means, but that in no way, shape, or form, means that they are over. They have evolved to take new forms and exist in society in different ways than they used to, but they are very much alive and well.
Did that dude say "I was astoundished" at 2:54 because if so, I'm dead💀😂
Ah, the sea of millions of fragile men.
Yes. Every man who doesn't agree with something is fragile. I'm gonna use that from now on every single time a woman feels uncomfortable about being generalized for her gender: "Stop being such a fragile girl".
Ah, the sea of SJW feminazi man haters. Idiotic bunch of sows. They aren't real women.
lo@@DwynTwo
I honestly love this teacher!
It's a experiment
Fabulous lesson! 👏🏼
More schools should demonstrate issues this way so kids to experience and discuss the parallels.
no such thing as a wage gap
This is how me and my group of friends are treated in our class, with the majority being inconsiderate about the minority's opinions in any situation.
I think the answer to this is that there should be a mandate that makes it so there can only be a 20% disparity between genders when it comes to Congress, The Senate, and whatever it applies.
THis is so great...This is my life Women get less money, less health benefits less of everything because we are not represented...WOMEN STOP VOTING AND GIVING MONEY TO MEN
Well for one you have the equal pay act, so stop complaining.
Women are more than half the population. If you want more women in congress then vote for them and if there isn't a woman you can vote for become her. Or you know, you could vote for the person that shares your world view and not care about their sex.
As a kid in Middle school i am both sacred and eager to go to high school
I love that guys are like this is not fair. And I love this experiment
that teacher gave such a great lesson to his students i like this video i am gonna try this with my students
That's awesome! Let us know how it goes!
In congress they're divided by political views, not gender.
yall are saying this is illegitimate. teenagers are a pretty bad analogy, but remember when the white house wanted to make a women's healthcare bill without a single woman in the room? lol i don't feel like debating
Women have unfair advantages with regards to health care and other areas. Don't act all damaged.
this experiment was genius... with this could be conducted with adults. :)
LOL 'experiment' with no control group etc.
Nope seems a bit idiotic, they achieved nothing because it wasn't an actual representation of congress other than the sex ratio being correct.
I don't think you understand what the word genius actually means.
so unreliable though
school is sexist
This is amazing
Omg I would be like "What is happening" lol
this is so important
What's cool is it almost evened out UNLIKE CONGRESS
This teacher is awesome!
It's an interesting experiment to be sure, and a good illustration of why gender disparity can have such an effect on politics, but I think it's important to point out that most of the male students in this class appear to be black, so they aren't represented fairly in congress either. I feel like this would be an even better experiment to run in a classroom with a lot of white males.
It's not really an 'experiment'. An actual experiment would have, you know, pretty experiment-y things, like a 50/50 control group, as well as a 80% boy / 20% girl, and then compare the results etc. But yeah, that doesn't fit the 'congress votes for policies favouring men only because they are 80% male' narrative, amirite?
You do know that none of their experiments are really experiments, right?
Are you going to push the false narrative of the "privileged white male"?
Well honest people who want what's best for the world as a whole and not just their party are only 1% of the Congress but nobody's making any videos to help them.
are there two cameras always chillin in that classroom?
"I was... astoundished"
Why do all these girls just approve of separating the genders
I don't know, but maybe women taking up only 20% of congress has to do with most women not wanting to run for that position.
Sushiyoda it’s because the parties “elect” a man to be the representative person. The parties consist mainly of MEN. Until THAT changes - Congress WONT!!!
The problem with this is that congress do not discuss gender related issues that often. You should have asked more general questions.
Yes because abortion rights funding planned parenthood or family leave has nothing to do with being a woman!
Little Miss Never said that they shouldn't discuss gender related issues, but that's irrelevant, because those topics aren't gender-orientated issues. Abortion and planned parenthood are about men as well :/.
"i was outstoundished"
NO! People in congress don't vote on issues like these. This experiment makes absolutely no sense.
"oh, yeah, let's ask girls if they want to be more entitled." of course thy do, but that's not even in the vincinity of real life scenarios.
Ugh, I can't believe I agree with people calling this a libtard propaganda.
Agreed
So stupid... our congressman are elected officials, in a country where women can run for office & vote & are 50% of the population.
While a bunch of entitled kids are happy to vote for whatever benefits them the most (regardless of how it hurts others), elected ADULT officials go to their job with the understanding that they are representatives of ALL their constituents and should vote fairly. Otherwise, our 80% male congress wouldn't stand for men to get shafted divorce court, shafted in men's healthcare funding, shafted with a huge gap in sentencing between men & women for crimes, and more.
Women do not make less than men. That has been illegal in the us for over 50 years
I watched this kid at school
I LOVE SOUL PANCAKES
Could it be that women deliberately choose not to enter congress because they don't enjoy being politicians and actually prefer other careers like Fashion Designing, Journalism, Law, Academia, Nursing or Medicine, fields in which both genders are represented more equally ?
Chandrakant Mahapatra it’s because the parties “elect” a man to be the representative person. The parties consist mainly of MEN. Until THAT changes - Congress WONT!!!
This can also be because of the “leaky pipeline” where women are often discouraged from more male dominated jobs like STEM, politics, etc. I know this comment is like 4 years old though LOL so I’m a bit late I guess
Trying being a male in a female dominated profession such as nursing or teaching. It will definitely teach you what females go through in male dominated professions.
Two wrongs don't make a right
accurate.
I’m more concerned about the sexual harassment at the school
What sexual harassment?
@@peterjamesleeching829 Not supposed to be slapping each other's butts, etc.
THE WAGE GAP IS A MYTH OMG its an earnings gap, women choose jobs that make less, and don't ask for promotions as much, and on average work less hours, NOT A BAD THING IT'S THEIR CHOICE TO HAVE A HEALTHY BALANCED LIFE INSTEAD OF A WORKAHOLIC LIFE
My school is about 80% women.
Isn't the congress democratically chosen? Isn't half of America women? What is the problem?
***** What exactly are you talking about? What legislation specifically regarding women are they implimenting that you think is unreasonable.
***** So there should be no laws about abortion at all?
***** Every law is completely authoritative. We have a authoritative system.
***** The system is made this way, we the people vote for who we think should make decisions for us, they make the decision. You can't just go "Oh but now the decisions affect me so now they can't say what I can and can't do."
Everyone feels this way about something. I for example feel this way about paying taxes on gambling winnings. I think it's retarded and I think that they are stealing money. Also why is weed illegal?
Other people think that their welfare checks are too small. It's not like the people deciding how much people on welfare should get live on welfare right?
The system is kinda fucked but it's not because the majority of congress is male. Not everything is the evil mens fault.
***** You are saying "Men shouldn't decide what women can do with their bodies" and I tried to explain why I think it's fair because everyone has their vote and these are the people we chose. You were still like "But derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" so I tried to explain that it's not only you who feel this way. Everyone feels like "Should really these people decide what I can do with that thing that has nothing to do with them?" And once again you went "But Bleeeerrrrrr" So what the fuck can I do? Your argument is literally "Men decide what women can do and that's wrong!" and I'm trying my best over here laying out why it's not men. It's the CHOSEN PEOPLE who happen to be 80% male who decide EVERYTHING and some of the things they decide is going to affect other people than themselves. Is that clear enough?
Sorry for caps but those parts are important to focus on.
So many false claims being made in this. It's disgusting.
wait, i know those people
Why did the girls raise their hands? If I were a girl in that class, I would object to the proposed rules because I care about fairness. Don't be so selfish!
All students should be treated the same
Really cool demonstration!
Did that guy just try to justify slapping girl's butts?
it Is interesting to see that the women did not consider how it would effect the men. same goes for the men.
This is so much different than congress. It's not so bias in Congress like it is on this video. The differences from this "representation" if you want to even call it that is so much different than in Congress.
I don't get why everything needs to be forced. Like no one is stopping the women from running for congress. You don't need to take people out that qualify just so you can have an equal amount of men and women. It's stupid. If they want to have equal amounts of each gender then run it's that simple. No one is stopping you
His arms are too big and these kids are too big.
What does this prove. That the majority of teenage girls will vote for anything that privileges them. Nothing to be learned here.
the majority of HUMANS will vote for things that work to their advantage. besides, the girls were in on it. they aren't really going to implement any of these policies. it was just an experiment to show the boys how women in Congress are treated.
You seriously wan't to compare Congresswomen - adults who were voted in by men and women to represent ALL their voices with teenage girls led by strawmen issues. Since adult women are the majority voters, and they often elect men to represent them, in spite of a female candidate, they obviously are comfortable with the representatives policies and caliber of the representative and not the genitals between their legs.
Chill, dude. Like I said it's an experiment. I didn't conduct it lmao.
This proves we should not vote for women in congress because they are selfish.
Zing!!!!!!! Damn haha
I'd put this on the list of top 10 a bit too convenient examples vids
Never mind, i finished the vid and now I know that these kids all new what was going on an that this is the next BuzzFeed
yeah I don't see that changing considering how America is now unless people are willing to change
well, what makes the girls pro these decisions in the first place unless they are uncomfortable?
This was very clever.
Why doesn't this teacher ask the classroom to vote on a REAL gender-discriminatory law which exists right now? It's called the Selective Service Act. Only males are required to sign up on their 18th birthday or else be denied college loans, etc. Even though women are now allowed in all combat positions. This discrimination against males needs to end!
Sure, and even though we haven’t had a draft since Vietnam we should still get rid of it. But while we’re discussing REAL issues that ACTUALLY effect 1 sex on a routine basis, abortion laws. The well-being and use of MY organs are not up to you or any other man in government.
@@thesunontwohearts6504 there isn't
i feel they shouldn’t be separated the boys should be punished for harrassong women because the guys that don’t harrass us shouldn’t have to be separated just enforce not harassing women
God that guy was a jerk
Democracy at it's finest!
But Congress doesn't vote for things like that. All of these would be illegal on a federal level.
No but some of these are decisions that actually effect women in schools because of school boards being made up of men. See: dress code rules
arent dresscodes supposed to forbid innapropriate clothing for both sides, what is the issue with dress codes?@@thesunontwohearts6504

Awesome!!!!🙌👏
I'm a guy and I thought this was pretty good. I see so many triggered guys in the comment section saying this was BS. They just need to relax it was just an experiment.
Don't get triggered
PURE GENIUS!!!! JOB WELL DONE!!!!
THIS NEEDS TO BE SEEN!! BY ALL!!!
This needs to be burned with fire and doused in holy water before and after.
the questions weren't a good equivalent what so ever
and we end the video having everyone applaud the men who were made to be uncomfortable only temporarily...
Over simplified to the point where it is misleading
Naw, you can be honest and say to a point where it is stupid.
Well I found three:
Only the men were discussing the topics, the women just blindly voted without anything to say.
All male students were african americans. If they were swedes for example all the votes would've been 100% "yes".
All topics were overwhelmingly pro-female and at the same time anti-male. Why not vote for "everyone gets a day off on Friday" or "everyone will have to pay tuition for high school now"? There should be some interesting answers. Or even political stuff: "should we invade Iraq again?"
didn't even watch the video
Hebiyoujo The whole thing
The idiocy on display could only be of american design. Nothing short of it, being the absolute muck of society, the filth that manages to bubble up to the surface of a waste disposal plant. This is disgusting.
Lol what a massive load of crap.
:v Here's a novel idea. Maybe Women should run for office? Who knows might work!
"It's mostly women" it's almost like they get it
alot of time and money for what?
The questions here were loaded. I guess because the Teacher was trying to infer that all men in Congress would vote against health protection for Women which is not true. If Men outnumber women in Congress how did any legislation get enacted to protect women's rights.
3:00-3:05 Can someone explain what he means by that?
KingChickenwing Mostly it’s about how men in government will have an all male meeting to determine the health care of women. This has happend on a few different cases and women then do not get a say on abortion, birth control, and other things that should be a womens decision about her own body
the differences is that Congress and the Senate or democratically elected officials in half the population of America or females which means that those females voting to elect those representatives if it wanted different representation they should have elected different representatives
the social fencekey it’s because the parties “elect” a man to be the representative person. The parties consist mainly of MEN. Until THAT changes - Congress WONT!!!
I don't think congress has propositions like this, it is too exhagerated, I mean it is not that severe. I really doubt congress having this kind of discussions, why would you make this an experiment?
Daaaaym. Can he be my teacher ;)
also why do you need to be a woman to have a say on murder😂
The reason there are less women is congress is because there are less women who are enrolling in government related majors or even have the interest in becoming senators, congresswomen, presidents etc. It's just a male dominated field and especially gender related issues can feel biased. There are also several female dominated professions like educational administering, nursing, counseling, and psychology. Where men are outnumbered, if you think having more women in congress would help then encourage more women to get into that field
Liam Klingberg it’s because the parties “elect” a man to be the representative person. The parties consist mainly of MEN. Until THAT changes - Congress WONT!!!
Toxic masculinity ~
Typical sexist feminazi
why dont more women run for congress lol
Mina Mansour it’s mainly because of how each gender is treated. In childhood boys are told to be leaders and women followers, not explicitly most of the time but by subtle actions and the media/tv shows. Also seeing how women politicians are treated (being called a b*tch or c***) for simply doing their job dissuades many women from running for electionz
Asia Beale Actually that's not true. Ever since I was a kid female leaders have always been glorified. And the idea that there's a magic patriarchal hand that dissuades women is false simply because there is not quantifiable evidence that it exists to begin with. We can speculate that as a society we see politicians as male but there is no hindrance that makes it harder to be a female politician, in fact Hillary Clinton's call to fame was that she was a woman and little to nothing else. And I don't know where you got that female politicians are called b**** and c***
Why should be gender a problem in the first place? 😞
not related but do you know how often women have to propose?
