When you reroll a challenge via a card effect you reroll exactly same runes including dark runes you used 1st time ( you do not need to pay again for dark rune ) this was confirmed on BGG FAQ by the designers ... Ric
Mike, thanks for the preview of the game. However, you missed a couple things. The dark rune gives you plus 2 to your successes on the 🌙 side and moves you down the corruption tracker. You passed each challenge you used them in. Also, the foundling card at the beginning had a hero card symbol on it and you should have drawn one when you took the card.
Both good catches! I don't know how I missed the Dark Rune rule in the play through. I played it correctly in previous games. Sometimes just the act of filming causes me to miss things I wouldn't otherwise.
Thank you so much for playing this through. Have you seen this solo-player-only Kickstarter? www.kickstarter.com/projects/1915482944/civitas-nihilium-immersive-pixel-art-cyberpunk-tab
I wonder for solo play if it would be better to cull the useless cards out of the opponents deck or continue to draw until you have an applicable event?
Potentially. What makes it tough is that the Adversary deck for solo and co-op play is specifically explained in the rule book. They tell you exactly which cards to put in the deck.
@@solomodegames Giving it some further thought, I think when you draw a card that is to be played before you do your task, I would place it face up on top of the deck. You would get a pass for the completed task but would have to play the effect of the card on your next challenge. Even though you know ahead what it is, your strategy might need to change because of it....
I believe you start with only 2 experience token. For when you finish an act you cannot grab from previous however if playing with other people and they have not completed act one they may grab cards from act 2 or act 1. Another note is if you fail a challenge and adversary card says must attempt, I believe it would still be a failed challenge. It goes the same for the card that makes you have to attempt a different challenge. If you failed the previous I believe it's a fail and the adversary card doesn't matter.
The instructions say "give each player three Experience tokens" at the start, not 2. The rules are weird about drawing from the prior Act. First it says "You may no longer gain traits or face challenges from that Act" but then claims "All players may gain or face Story cards from any revealed Act". Perhaps that last part should have been "all OTHER players"
Great game...a lot of fun solo.
This looks like a lot of fun! Never heard of it till now. I love the idea of throwing those tunes instead of dice. Def on my wishlist now.
There’s definitely something satisfying about tossing the runes. It’s just a randomizer, but it’s sure a cool one.
Thanks for the playthrough! I've played this game several times lately and have had fun each time. : )
Thanks for watching!

JPFalcononor That's an interesting thought. I could see that working.
Boom shaka laka!
