    This looks like a fun game but also looks a bit confusing to follow 😂. These videos are a great way to get better at understanding the rules for a game like this.

    Hey I enjoyed watching your solo playthrough. My wife and I just played this game for the first time and we really enjoyed weaving our character stories together. We did have to keep consulting the rules, but after our playthrough and watching this I have a much better grasp on the rules.

      @@DaletheCasualGamer Hey Dale, I was setting up for a solo game and noticed my rules are different. Apparently a second edition was released in 2021 that change how it works.
      Now instead of an adversary trying to reach an xp threshold, they start the game with 5xp per player and the players have to reduce the pool to zero. It seems hard because it looks like you each only get one shot against the adversary at the end, unless I am reading it wrong.
      Do you know anything about this? I haven't had any luck with Google.

    I just got this base game for Christmas. I've read the entire rule book thru three times. And I'm not fully clear on a few things and not seeing them out here on BGG. I've played the solo mode once so far.
    1) Page 10 doesn't make it clear about the Adversary that you pick. Does it just stay out by your player board until the end of the game and then you fight it? Or should it be added to the Act Deck the adversary is from and when it's revealed then it's available?
    It says the Adversary's card ongoing abilities apply until the end of the game. So it makes it sound like it is not added to that Act's cards but is already always out. The reason why this is confusing is that on page 9 under Adversaries section, it says Adversary cards are shuffled into the Act 2 and 3 decks.
    2) When you win a Challenge, some of the cards have the hero/anti-hero symbol on the top or bottom of the card. If you chose that path do you immediately draw one of those cards? Or do you only get to draw one, if going forward you use that cards symbol in your next challenge?
    3) Defeating the Adversary step on page 11 in the Solo/Co-op Section. I'm not fully clear. I read it as you only get one chance to attack the adversary and you either defeat him or you don't. It says at the end if the adversary has 0 experience they are defeated. But what about adding up your scoring? Do you still add your final score? If you get a certain amount of points do you still win? Or the only way to win is by defeating the adversary and the score is just a tracking mechanism to see how you did?
    Then played 2 player. We fought The Warlord and feel like we may have played wrong. We failed several challenges, so he kept getting experience points. My wife had a Hero card that let her do a challenge that another player failed. She failed 3 or 4 times. We added more experience points on the warlord when that happened, but not sure if we should since it wasn’t technically her turn?
    I posted this on BGG on 12/28 but so far no response.
    We actually ran out of experience tokens. So that is why we’re questioning

    In solo play the rule book says you should set aside the card unlikely alliance instead of being able to play it on your own hero.

    I hope I'm not to late. But I was hoping you could help me. I bought the game a few years ago, but I just opened it today. And the first thing I noticed is my game doesn't have the adversary card you are playing. I only have 5 adversary cards: the warlord, the tyrant, the demon, the sorceress and the high priest. Am I missing cards or what happened?

    • @DaletheCasualGamer

      I no longer have this game, although it is a fun game and I'd definitely play if offered. As for a card list, cards should be from 001-192, and there are some kickstarter exclusive cards going up to 198. If you don't have the 192 cards you can try contacting the publisher for replacements. Hope that helps. :)

      Thanks for subscribing! Aeons End is a great suggestion for solo and co-op play!! I've gotten about half way through the Legacy Edition with my group ... but we've got too many games, and not enough game time - the story of most of us board gamer's, lol.

    16:55 You never accounted for the impact of the moon dark rune on your corruption track. (Of course, after 19:34 it wouldn't matter.)

    • @DaletheCasualGamer
      @DaletheCasualGamer  5 років тому +1

      You are correct ... on both. I'd like to claim that "I knew I couldn't be corrupted for long", but I'm not that good ... and when it comes to roleplaying, you never know the power of the dark side, even if you are Bound by Honor to be the Heir of the Throne. ;)

    Better than Pathfinder 2 Ed ?

    • @DaletheCasualGamer
      @DaletheCasualGamer  4 роки тому +1

      @Michal Przez M I'd have a hard time comparing the two games together. Call to Adventure is a one-shot game that is best played with "roleplaying" in mind. I've played the game with "non-roleplayers" and they didn't seem to enjoy it as much as those of us trying to roleplay the character we were creating. Pathfinder is a campaign driven story with scenarios, so you will get to see you character slowly level up, and since it's a campaign driven game will probably lend itself to getting in more plays. So with that said, I'd rank Pathfinder higher on my scale. Hope that helps, and happy adventuring with either game! :)

      I don't own it, but it's not noted as being a stand alone expansion and doesn't list a solo variant ... so I assume you will need the base game to play. Happy gaming!
