You’re a legend !! Pretty sure this is what’s wrong with mine, since the bad rain we have had my van came up with electrical issue light on dash (now makes sense that it would be an old earth damaged from the rain) then got starting issues and noticed if I flick key on and off the electrical fault goes away and let’s me select automatic again (also makes sense not selecting auto if it’s an earth on gearbox) going to check tomorrow but I’m pretty sure you’ve just saved me a huge headache
I know this video is a couple of years old now but thanks pal, i just watched and found I had the exact same issue. Van was cranking but not turning over intermittently but would bump then drive for the day. I'd changed fuel pressure sensor and was about to get after crank and cam shaft sensors.... No need this fix has sorted the issue 👌👌👌👌
Did you ever get to the bottom of it. I've got the same year and engine vivaro. Crank no start. Keeps comming up with cam sensor fualt but replaced with a new one twice and still getting the same fualt. At my wit's end now.
Jesus! You were not very lucky with that one. Since you started at the END! ALWAYS start your electric diagnostics by the simple things. Not by disassembling half the van, with the resulting "spaghetti explosion" you show on the video. Fuses first, for obvious reasons, then terminals and connections... ONLY then move to the harness itself. Usually a systematic approach can save a lot of time! I tend to find myself well into older cars/vans probably way more then I should... But anyway. One of the first things on my usual routine is to charge battery and clean terminals and connections. I can tell you that at least 90% of older vehicles electric problems are solved right there and then! And get me clear of any other electric issues for a few YEARS! Cheers
Hey..going to check this ..coz my obd scanner wont read ecu....van (renault master) wont start either……dont suppose yr dash was also reading "braking fault"? ..anyway, any feedback appreciated
yeh i discovered mine had issues, after i had a new gearbox fitted, the mechanic put the old one back on, it was rubbing against the inner arch and snapped, so i put, like you did, 2 new ones on at 30mm longer. few £`s each..
Did all the ignition lights come on as normal, mate, mine do but engine does not turn over. Nufin,, went work fine end of the day went to start and it whud turn over
Me to have issues .no imbolizer light .won't start .but will bump start.in 2nd n run fine .any ideas .starter motor maybe 🤔 headaches only had few week
All your headaches has save me a massive head ache .I looked at mine today and all the problems mentioned ,I think I'm going to change . Cheers pal

Same here, fucking shit van 😡
I’ll second that, or third, but sounds exactly the same as my 2010 vivaro

Literally had this the day after buying the van. 2012 vivaro 2l did you ever get to the bottom of it?
Exactly the same thing on my 97 Primaster van. Turns over won't fire up.
