I’m honored that LifeTime and Leadville thought so highly of me to include me in this film. To be a part of the Leadville family is not what I signed up for. I signed up to go suffer with the rest of the athletes up there and to see what I could do. The more videos I watched and the more people I talked to, the more I started hearing about the Leadville “family”. I now understand. What a great feeling it is to be a part of it! Now I HAVE to come back! Leadville Family Reunion 2024!

I almost finished in 2011, and then did finish in 2014. I've crewed and paced several times. Leadville has a special place in my heart.

As a 2022 Leadman, this gave me chills. There is a feeling you can’t describe being up there, will take that to my grave personally. Here’s to the next 40, dig deep!

Very good video. I finished this past year (youngest ever, funny enough) but the course kicked my butt and I can't wait to come back next year with a better idea of what to do.

A special shout out to Junko, who is featured in this film. She's absolutely a fabulous person, and an amazing athlete.

Great movie. I DNF’d in 2022 and that still haunts me. I’m hoping to me things right in 2024. We’ll that’s if I don’t get into States and I get picked in the lottery.

Great video. I love leadville. The back ground music is too loud it makes it hard or impossible to hear the people talk.

Twelve years ago, for the very first edition of Trails In Motion, we screened this film by Salomon featuring Ryan Sandes tackling his first Leadville 100 > ua-cam.com/video/yWRActOyvek/v-deo.html and then 6 years later, in 2018, the film "Changing Course" featuring Clare Gallagher and her prep for Leadville > ua-cam.com/video/IdeaKaG92MY/v-deo.html (spoiler alert, she won!!) To say we're looking forward to seeing "Running Through History" would be an understatement!

This was really good but the telling of the race's origin is incomplete. Jim Butera originally had the idea of a 100 mile race in Colorado and was looking for a location when he found support from Ken to host it in Leadville. While Ken's vision was key to bringing it to Leadville it was Jim who had the original idea of a race, designed the course, and was race director in its first two years. There's no doubt that Ken and Merilee have been instrumental in the race's success; it's just unfortunate that Jim's role as co-founder has been ignored since his passing.
