Who’s switching over to Zidoo now that Zappiti is dead?
Me, but I need to know the differences between the z2000 Pro and z2600. Also, if either of these devices support rack mounting. My Zappiti NEO is rack mounted as I received rack mount ears free of charge from Zappiti.
@paulmardis1512 Better Power supply and additional hdmi out(Audio) on the Z2600. None of the Zidoo players are rack mountable. Hopefully Zidoo comes out with some rack mount options in the future.

Great video I heard the news by shane yesterday about zappiti. I'm glad I picked up the zidoo z9x pro and the dune hd real vision 4k plus media players. Both options are solid and affordable alternatives now that zappiti closed shop.

After messing around with the Zidoo Z2600 the last couple of days everything is work fine as previously stated. I found out this morning that the unit will not play movies with WMA audio codec. I tried playing some movies in my collection that were old dvd rips and when the movie starts I get an "unsupported audio error" with the video plays but I hear no audio. The same movie plays fine on Plex. I thought I read that this player supports wma but could be wrong. If this is the case those movies will only be played back from Plex unfortunately.

Already on Z20 PRO too, for the moment, almost all is good, we only really miss the share from windows to the ziddo ! we hope it will be solved soon !

You’re welcome! It should be the same over the network. Just make sure you share all your drives over the network. But I dont have experience with NAS’ so I’m not entirely sure

Thank you! Yes the drive needs to be connected, doesnt have to be the internal bay though. I had a drive connected externally with my Z9X and was able to transfer files over the network.
However I just ran into an issue the last week or so where I can not see or access the internal drive in the HDD bay. I’m wondering if mine is an isolated problem or if anyone else has this issue on the Z20 Pro or any of the newer models.

I have Z9 Pro and i have a 2.5 hdd connected to it by USB. I turned on SMB but I only see the root drive Storage of the Z9 pro, not the attached USB drive....any ideas why? does the drive have to be fomatted a certain way?
Yea that’s the same issue I’m having on my Z20 Pro. But mine is an 8TB HDD. I can hook the same drive up to my Z9X and access the files over the network so not sure what’s going on.
Yeah it sucks my Zappiti will no longer work as intended by the end of the year. I bought a Z9X Pro to experiment with in the meantime to see if I like and will get tomorrow. Interface looks good. I have 90TB NAS and another 86TB connected via USB currently. I hope the Zidoo can handle. Your video gives me hope. Question I will have my answer to once I get my unit but may be helpful to your viewers considering. Does the Movies and TV Shows need to be in separate folders for the identification mapping to work properly? On the unidentified titles can you enter the TMDB number of the title? I found this helpful with foreign titles or movies that had an original title but were released on Blu-ray something different. As an example the Jodie Foster Film Backtrack released by Kino Lorber is TMDB labeled as Catchfire. When you were browsing your folder movie titles and it popping up movie poster looks real encouraging for misidentified titles. It looked WAY SIMPLER than what Zappiti offered. The larger the library the more difficult it was to find misidentified movies and a huge pain in the rear. Lastly US resources to buy. I know of a UK vendor to order and will ship to the US but personally I feel and your viewers may feel more comfortable with US vendors. Amazon currently has two models available but from what I can tell there is five options.
I dont think movies and tv shows need to be in separate folders. You can also create your own category but Zidoo categories your content by movies, tv shows, etc. I dont think you can enter imdb meta data like you can with PLEX & Emby.
@@hatoraidcowboy I ask because with Zappiti you HAVE to keep shows and movies in separate folders for it to categorize correctly. Not IMDB but TMDB (The Movie Database) that I see Zidoo using. Same as Zappiti. When you look up the movie on TMDB in the url is a number. On the Zappiti even with the correct title it didn't always find it in the search options but was allowed to enter that number from the url and then it always found it. That is what I was curious about. I will find out once my Z9X Pro arrives and I try. My Zapppit collection statistics says I have 3483 movies and 14,975 episodes. I am sure the Zidoo will not or mis-identify a few of those. Just thought it might be helpful for viewers with troublesome titles.

I have all my media on a NAS . I had the Zappiti Neo because the was the only way to get Dolby Vision. The question is do I get the Z9X Pro or Z20 Pro? I don't need the drive.
If you dont need the drive just go with the Z9X Pro. All Zidoo players supports Dolby Vision 😎
I have mapped the drive on my PC but I cannot see any files in the drive. I have 4TB external HDD connected to my Zidoo Z9X PRO. Windows laptop show the drive (and also the capacity that 1TB free of 4TB). Also, it shows 2 folders when I open the drive, a long name folder (which I asusme is HDD) and the other folder named Storage which has all other Android default folders. But I am not able to find any of the movies which are already stored on my HDD.
You might want to reach out to Zidoo. I had to get a firmware update that fixed my issue.
I was wondering if the Ziddo media player will work with the Great Dane Movie Poster app like Plex does?
I would like to get a Ziddo but I’m not sure if I want to loose the feature of showing the movie that I am currently watching on my Movie screen outside of my Home Theater..
It does not. I reached out to the developer earlier this year to see if it was possible. He said he’d need to do testing with Zidoo player
Thanks, you really helped me so much in setting up my Plex/Movie poster which is an awesome feature to be able to see the start and end time of the movie you are watching outside of your HT!
But overall it looks like the Ziddo may be a better option than Plex/Nvidia Shield…

@@hatoraidcowboy I believe Plex uses a secure VPN connection that goes over a specific tcp port number to allow inbound access to the customers plex server.

I'm having a hell of a time setting this thing up. eARC has gone totally over the edge, nothing controls anything, it takes forever for the zidoo to actually display on my tv, my Shield no longer puts out a signal, and my AVR (MR1) is not getting a signal sent to my L/R speakers or subs. I'm seriously considering trashing my entire setup and becoming a Franciscan monk!
Are you going straight to your tv or using a receiver?

I just bout a Z2000 pro, and the internal HDD bay will not recognize a Seagate 3.5 internal drive, but it will recognize it if I use it in a Sabrent usb docking station, externally. I have formatted it several times NTFS and GPT and it will not recognize it at all! Any suggestions?

Where does the Zidoo stores the movie covers? On the internal memory or on a cloud like Zappiti?
I believe it stores them locally but you can add a hard drive or thumb drive and store them there for a little faster load time.

What firmware are you using as I’ve just received my z20 pro and the interface doesn’t look like yours I’m running 1.052
I need to check the firmware. The GUI is different because you can upload a different one. I have a video on it. Its not currently working on it right now though
What Hard Drive do you recommend using in the Zidoo Z2000 Pro. NAS or Standard SATA Hard Drive?
I would try to use NAS drives. I use an 8TB WD RED 7200 RPM
Nope no Nas and no 7200 8tb Seagate and 5200 for long life and no loud hdd
I have a Mac running Ventura 13.6. What drive should I get to rip blu-rays. The drive I have (LG WH16NS40) won't rip. Apparently the firmware needs to be rolled back, which doesn't seem possible in my case. Thanks in advance.
When I bought my drive nearly 7-8 years ago, I didnt have to flash mine. It just worked. Now I think its different. Seems like most drives will have to be flashed. But here is an makemkv recommended UHD drive list and there may be some drives in the list that work right out of the box.

Thank you! Are you adding media via hard drive or over the network. The Zidoo will automatically start cataloging and adding meta data when you map to your content.
I do it over the network, but I would like to create collection to associate certain movies and make the display more clean
@J-L_Pilot Oh like group movies together like all Marvel movies in a single collection? I believe you have to long press on a movie and then you should see an option to create a collection. Once you create a collection just go to the other movies you want to add to the collection and do the same process by adding them to the collection you created

I also have short movies I do on mountain bike and they all appear with strange name and picture from nowhere. Is there a way to insert a photo and title of my choice? Again thank-you for your help.

My internal window's pc HDD is not showing up on the zidoo using SMB. Only the HDD connected to my Zidoo share folder is showing up . I have set up smb and shared my Pc HDD however after smb scan on the zidoo does not show up. What am I doing wrong?

I just set up my Zidoo UHD2000 with WiFi setup.
I also set up my synology NAS with all my movie files.
When I tried to link my NAS to my zidoo player by running SMB scan under Source, It couldn’t find my NAS at all.
Can you help me? What did I do wrong?Do i need to use Ethernet connected to zidoo player to find my NAS network?

It shouldnt matter if you’re using wifi or ethernet, however ethernet will give you a more reliable connection.
As far as the Zidoo not finding the NAS, is your NAS/HD’s shared on your local network? It could be settings on your network or the NAS

@LoganDec01 You’re welcome. I dont know which NAS you have but there should be a section in your settings that allow you to configure your network.
Of course you can always consult the product manual as well as look up on youtube

@@hatoraidcowboy not if the drive is in the Zidoo sata bay on the machine. I my ripped UHD Blueray on a external USB drive which I can connect to the Zidoo over USB. But in order to copy the 6 terabytes of data to the SATA drive on the Zidoo I need to format it first in NTSF and make an 17.4 partition
I am having issues with my Zidoo Z2600 similar to what I was on my previous zidoo. It still looks like it plays subtitles on all movies from default. Here is what is going on.
I noticed I am unable to turn off subtitles on MKV BDMV folder movies. Even though I have it turned off in default language settings in playback. I tested this with the following movies (Moonfall, 65 and Avatar way of water). The Avatar, way of water does not shows subtitles but 65 and Moonfall does. All 3 movies were ripped to BDMV folders using Makemkv. None of these movies shows subtitles when played from my Zappitti Neo.
Any Ideas?

@paulmardis1512 Latest version is 1.058. I had the same issue mine wouldnt update. I had to update manually with the file. I wasnt having that issue though.

Zidoo Pro's are buggy and we haven't had any firmware updates to fix issues in over 2 months. For example, 3D MVC/ISO's don't play in 3D. I ordered a Dune Real Vision 4K and may switch over.
I did have an issue with a 3D ISO with Ant Man. Thought it was just me.

We don’t. But Zidoo is still standing whereas Zappiti is not.

Not really….They’ve been pretty solid for me.
I’ll take Zidoo over Plex. Only thing Plex has over Zidoo is chapter and preview thumbnails and versatility to access PLEX server from anywhere.

Yes they do. All the new Zidoo players support HDMI 2.1, and faster chipsets

I’ve done it over 500 times with my Blurays.
Fake. This device is useless for playing from the internal hard drive. If you try to copy a file onto it, it fails after 4gb. Returned mine.
I’m not sure how that makes it fake? You prob got a bad unit. That happens with ANY product when you mass produce. Mine works just fine.
