A new station for me. Leyland is 4 miles to the south of Preston on the West Coast Mainline. A nice little station with some good variety of traction as well as a good mix of stopping & passing services.
INCLUDES: DRS 66423, Freightliner 66511, Transpennine Express 350's & 185's plus DRS liveried 68027 + 68022 on driver training duties for TPX.
Virgin Pendolino's & Voyagers and Northern 150's, 156's, 319's and pacers.
Yes the top n' tail 68 set was a good catch. The old pretendolino set with a Greater Anglia buffet was out on Driver Training Duties between Crewe & Preston readying for the 68's to begin passenger service between Scarborough & Liverpool later this year.
Thanks for watching

Any remember when the Pretendolinos were about. Also great video btw
don't know why but I love the noise!

It's ok. I like that too :D
Awesome
Leyland represent! :D
We saw that train at 1:51
The 390 132 at Penrith.
Nice bro
Awesome Power lol hi
I love WCML
Awesome video what do you use to edit
Minor comment: this one is actually transmitted at 1080p (not 2160p). Some of your other ones are 4k/2160p - e.g. the recent 'Stafford' one. Best regards.
Is it regular for this train at 0:25 to only have 4 carriages?
That was a Transpennine test train. Of course, TPE now have their own 68s in their own livery (which looks fantastic) and their own shiny new mk5s.
0:24
Whats that blue loco pulling those carriages at 9.01?
Ian Whelan This is a Class 68 diesel engine.
Ian Whelan Class 68 locomotive with pretendalino stock doing driver raining runs for Trans Pennine new class 68 and Nova fleets.
What camera are you using?
0:44 Pacer!!!!!!
I just wish Northern would ask for a bulk order of Vivarail trains to replace those god-awful Pacers and Sprinters.
Peerless Breton an amazing use for class 230s
Papers are awful but I'm still yet to ride a bad refurb8 class 156 or 150
1:32 surely not held up by a pacer
The Pacer was on a different line - Most likely heading towards Blackburn and Leeds/York
Martin Hooper the pacer would've gone to Manchester, this means turning over the the lines onto the Manchester line, why the signal is flashing.
Ah True but they also branch off right to go through Bamber Bridge, Lostock Hall, Blackburn and onto Colne - The one your saying goes left further up through Buckshaw Village Chorley and all stations to Manchester. Local lines you see ;)
Just looking over, if you look at 0:39 you can see on the departure screen that it is going to Manchester Victoria.
Doh just noticed :) He might be holding up the 390 then... As he has to get to the very left track to turn off to the Manchester Branch
British train horns sound weird and all sound the same. For example a romanian train hornmis more powerful depending on the train. Of course british infrastructure is better but the horns i think let them down.
