Cause putting money on developing a game means no money for marketing.
That, also love and dedication to something is rare nowadays. I've actually saw the documentary on how Kenshi was made, and I gotta say, mad props to the Developer for sacrificing his entire life for this game. Wish All developers were like that, especially back then, when they'd actually playtest, put some effort, and not make a hot garbage mess.

They are working on a kenshi 2 now. Regularly sending updates about development.

The Starsector video is a must watch. Brilliant game that's dirt cheap AND the devs don't mind you testing it for free. 10/10 would shill again - IGN
I actually couldn't buy it at first because their site was still down from the sheer number of people trying to buy the game, so I pirated it and just bought a legal copy later.
Not just a great game, but a review needing reactions, since they have the worst marketing strategy on the planet: word of mouth. I'm lucky I discovered it through a different reaction channel. 10/10
@@MundaneDave Well, to be fair: if you're in it for the long haul, you don't really care as much about getting all of your sales in the first fiscal quarter or whatever.
It could use an ad or two somewhere though, ngl.

@@MundaneDave evidently, it isn’t an issue. I imagine the single dev now has enough capital to work on it for several more years, and he seems like he wants to finish it before it goes up on storefronts. After that, he’s a millionaire with just a few ads and youtube reviews.
kenshi 2 is underdevelopement on unreal 4 engine. look forward to it.

Kenshi is one of the greatest games I have ever played. It was so good I actually had to force myself to stop playing it as my actual life actually started suffering from it.
10/10 great game, would not recommend to anybody that has responsebilities to take care of

If you're intending to get the game, Kit, you'll need a computer with really good processor and graphic card. Well, the more important one to run this game is the processor tho because the game runs bazillions of shits all at the same time...

The biggest fun i had was piecing together the history of the world
from a space colony to the apocalypse to rebirth of civilization
each zone has its secrets and more breadcrumbs to follow
Is it really the rebirth of civilization though?
The UC are nothing more than slaver towns ruled by half-mad egomaniacs.
Holy Nation is a dogmatic theocracy, ruled by a deluded Fanatic and his army of Zealots.
Shek Kingdom is a Police State that values strength over any other attribute, even to the point of the latter's detriment.
And their cities are pretty much townships, not really great cities where thousands live. And as of recent history, all nations are basically on a decline because of their extreme failings in their respective ways. UC not realising that continuing the slaver trend will only cause more and more rebels to appear. HN not taking a step back and re-evaluating how twisted their behavior is to people who simply don't want to be a part of their religion. And Shek with their dumb warrior code of dying in a glorious battle leading to Shek willfully going on suicide attacks just to measure their trouser swords with each other, instead of focusing on securing their people's existence.
Hivers are hivers. They're a completely different type of species, and they're as much of a civilization as an ant colony is, if ant colonies produced cheap knockoff robotics and sell them way overpriced for their quality. It's speculated that they are the original species on Kenshi's planet, before humans came. Can we consider what is essentially humanoid, sentient insects that operate in a Hive structure as a "civilization"? Especially if you consider that they live in actual mud and puke huts.
If anything, it's the further decline of civilization. Maybe only the Shek were headed into the right path at the current point in the timeline after Esata took over.
@@stankobarabata2406 I mean, those kinds of societies existed in real life, and now we have moved forward. If those societies didn't exist in the game, there wouldn't be anything to improve on.
@@SantaClaus-kk8zr I'm not saying they can't get out of that situation. I'm saying, are they? Difference between being able to and doing so is quite big.

Someone should react to HLVRAI (Half-Life VR but the AI is Self-Aware). It's bunch of friends role-playing in Half-Life 1 and giving it their spin on the story. It's quite long but it's really funny and well made even though it's all improvised!

I’m not a fan of reaction channels, but there’s something about me wanting to see how people enjoy stuff I enjoy.
Kenshi is not for everyone. This game will not hold your hand. I wouldn't say it has a steep learning curve, but failure is usually fatal. It's also fun and maybe a bit addictive. If you don't like the game out of the box, the mod community is insane with over 4000 mods for the game from purely cosmetic changes to complete game overhauls. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sandbox game where playing is more important than "winning," although for me, winning is as simple as surviving another day in game.
I recommend MandaloreGaming's review of a game called Stronghold HD.
