We’ve all seen the inside it’s grocery store cake.
Obviously she wouldn’t sell this to anyone she was just giving people ideas on what they could do if maybe they couldn’t afford a $500 cake & putting out great content. Furthermore cakes do cost $500 or more for the people saying cakes don’t cost that much!

And the $500 cake tastes just like the $5 grocery store cake. If you want a cake that tastes good, have a friend bake it. Just a white box cake with canned filling and homemade 7 minute frosting is delicious.
That's because they've never been married... Everyone knows how much wedding cakes can cost.
MRS. HUDSON it’s not even about being married, most custom cakes, just one tuer are well upwards of a hundred dollars. It’s just people commenting those things exclusively get cakes from the grocery story for $20-$30, totally NOT the same, and an insult to people who put their heat and soul into those creations just to be compared to mass production/factories
@@sady1139 A homemade cake with a recipe from a church cookbook, now that is a cake. I only take a piece of the cheap grocery store cakes to be polite and nibble it. Most expensive wedding cakes are only made to look at and for pictures. I'm sure there are exceptions, but most of them taste awful and pretentious.

The most mind blowing part is that a bakery cake that size would cost $500.
It wouldn't... it could be around $100-$150 at the most. But that's not for a store bought cake.

Beautiful and clever on a budget. I order my cake from Sam's club for about 50 buck. I must say one helluva MOIST CAKE!!!! If your nice with the bakery section and tell them your getting married they put a personal touch to the cake. That cake traveled from NY to Kingston Jamaica. The reason why so is because I just couldn't pay their price for a small WEDDING cake at their local price. Justice of the Peace and dinner for 22 per plate and a 50 buck cake my nestled wedding was simple and beautiful
I'm not sure why you couldn't afford a small cake in Jamaica. They are plenty reasonable there and quite lovely tasting, too.

One thought that I have here is that for wedding cakes, more than anything else, you are paying for the time and skill of the people who make them. Perhaps I'm too simple here, but wedding cakes are mostly just cake and frosting, and cakes from a grocery store bakery are also just cake and frosting, so if you have the skills and inclination like Chyna, you could totally make one into the other.

Thank you. I use American buttercream: 1 lb of unsalted butter, 8 cups of powdered sugar, 2 Tbs heavy cream, vanilla & a pinch of salt

thats amazing ... to just be funky ...on the top layer i thought embossed thick gold OR black stripes going up to coordinate with the gold and those beautiful flowers

If you are on a tight wedding budget and u got a bit of skills or maybe a family member, this is a quick cheap way of doing your wedding cake. Save u loads of time and money. 1 thing though. We always wrap real flower stems with plastic wrap. The reason being is that the fluids from the flower stems can leach into the frosting and cake layers. Even if a flower is edible, the fluids from the stem can have a bitter and unpleasant taste.😝😉
Thank you for watching. Even though this was a challenge cake & not a client cake, I still trimmed the stems, disinfected the flowers, and attach them with buttercream instead of sticking them directly into the cake.

When I need a cake for an event I order cake with plain white icing from the grocery store. Then I decorate from there.

Eh, I think a wedding cake is essentially the same thing as a sheet cake. Cake + frosting. The wedding cake just has more inedible bits to it.
It’s cheaper to make the cakes yourself so anyone doing this is losing profit

Just to let you know, you need to wrap flower stems in protective film or use flower tubes. Unfortunately,it is very dangerous to stick fresh flowers in cake like you show on the video. Not food safe.
Only if it’s poisonous, roses are edible so the stems are fine.
It’s not food safe because growers use pesticides on their flowers.

Great great job!! To all Illinoisans, Mariano's has the worst fake tasting cakes and Jewel Foods has the best!! Walmarts cakes are fake tasting as well. If you can't get the vanilla right and it tastes medicinal, it's a Fail for me!

Wow!!!! Cake recycling I wouldn't eat it but a nice concept, some of those vibrant colors that they use at some of the supermarket stores stain your hands/fingers, I can only imagine what it may do to your insides once you eat a cupcake or slice of cake.
