Bhapa Dim - Eggs steamed in Mustard Gravy
Ingredients:
- Eggs - 6pc
- Salt
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard seeds
- 1 tsp black mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp posto/ poppy seeds
- 3 tbsp + 1 tsp mustard oil
- 5-6 green chillis as per preference
- Curd/Dahi/ Tok Doi -85gms
Preparation:
- Boil eggs for 8 minutes and peel the shell in cold water. Make a Slit till the center of each egg
- Soak mustard seeds (yellow and black) and poppy seeds for 30 minutes (Use 1/6th cup water for soaking) . Then make a paste along with 1 tbsp mustard oil. (2-3 Green chilli is optional)
Adding mustard oil in this step makes a smooth gravy
Cooking:
- In a steel container/tiffin box, mix the paste with dahi, mustard oil, green chilli and salt as per taste
- Add eggs and mix again
- Steam for 10 minutes over medium flame.
Garnish with 1tsp mustard oil

Hey made this. Turned out excellent. However it was slightly bitter so where did I go wrong ?

Add a small quantity of mustard oil for the smoothest paste!
