- We've never seen so much snow in our lives! Our dogs are incredibly happy to play in the pure soft snow. And of course, snow is a wonderful building material. But we only had enough to build a snow cave for dogs. our huskies like to play hide and seek with each other. And of course dogs like quiet nooks. so we spent a whole week building a snow igloo for dogs.
If our next winter is going to be as snowy, what do you think we should make for our huskies?

where I live, snow plows usually come in the winter, and they make huge piles of snow. I have a tradition there, to make at least one snow cave where the whole of me can fit.
It's such a fun tradition. It is good if the snow plow rakes only snow, without earth and dirt

It is so wonderful to see huskies in their natural environment where they are supposed to be. I live in Australia, one of the hottest places on the planet. I have been dog groomer and vet nurse for nearly 3 decades and we have so many breeds including huskies that are just not suited for this climate. To watch your babies playing in the snow, warms my heart ❤
Thanks! I feel sorry for huskies who have to live in a hot climate. Now we have 0 Celsius and my pup feel uncomfortable already.

Building an igloo for the huskies! What a wonderful thing to do! And they clearly appreciate it! Amazing how cozy it looks when lit up! Loved watching the huskies playing in the snow around the igloo while it was being built & then enjoying sitting in it after it was completed!

Pooff and there is your Christmas card 😀. As usual Olive cracked me up, digging a small hole on top and then putting her whole face in it 😂 she’s such a dominant little rascal. This really give me my daily Husky fix since I don’t have one right now. She does remind me of my Husky Kola with her shenanigans. Thank yo7 for doing this for us all. Yuki and Monty are just so relaxed and gentle ❤

it'd be great to see an igloo with a short tunnel entrance. the igloo large enough to hold 3 sleeping dogs and one or two sleeping adults. so, you'd want to have enough space for dog baskets and two sleeping bags ✨

Hope you got your CO from the building department too. Olive was digging a chimmy hole then a fire pit after the house was completed. Love the three of them playing King of the Mountain too. Looks like everyone had fun with the building.
ha ha! So far, no construction company has sent us a request. I think they just haven't seen this video
It proves they are young at heart. Calves, lambs, colts, goat kids, fawns and people kids enjoy playing king of the hill. And often you see cows, ewes, deer and grownups joining in. It’s universal. Loved the snow cave and the effort you made for them. I have had to shovel snow that has melted and refrozen. It is hard work.

An easier way to do this would probably be to get a big cardboard box, cut slits up the sides (along the edges), and place it upside-down in a cleared area. Then pack snow on top of and around it on three sides. Then remove the box by collapsing it along the slits. A lot less snow you'll have to shovel, and it leads to a nice box-shape inside!
