8 years have passed and this video series is among the best quality I’ve seen to date! Space Hulk is, in my humble opinion, the best Hobby themed board game ever. Your intro, close ups on the models and board, coupled with your enthusiastic presentation have rekindled the flames!
@@WatchItPlayed I've been watching lots of your videos from previous years(lots of catching up to do). Sharing "game time" with your kids was brilliant! Guess they've grown up by now!
Here we go with the names and order they should be in: In Point we already have Cpt Dallas Bolter; behind him I say Sgt Ursus (Latin for Bear);in the middle Pvt Doitean (pronounced Doh-Chahn.) It's Irish for big fire for the flamer; next to last Pvt Hernandez Bolter (because in an epic sci-fi you always need a Hernandez and covering the rear no pun intended pvt Mal Reynolds Bolter because I love firefly.
Had another idea for names. I think it's appropriate as this is your 10th series. Kind of like an anniversary. Seargent: Harvy Walters Heavy flamer: Kate Winthrop Painted bolter: Dallas (already named) Bolter: Gloria Goldberg Bolter: Michael McGlen
This would be my suggestion for opening as well as naming =) 1. Brother Lukas - shooting down doors as he advances quickly to the final chamber 2. Mr. Inferno - Early position to be first into positionto fire into the computer room 3. Captain Dallas - well protected since ability to redraw command point is valuable 4. Brother Rodnick - overwatch in second diverting hallway 5. Brother Andreas - overwatch in first diverting hallway
I can't wait for this to start. Suggestions for the playmakers: Positions: 1. Bolter Cpt Dallas 2. Sgt Moon 3. Flamer Specialist Wade 4. Bolter Corpotal Barret 5. Bolter Pvt Tex The reasoning on this is that Tex should open the first door on the right and be kept there on overwatch for any genestealers coming from the rear, that way we still have one marine left covering our VIP with the flamer. Also the sargeant should go second in case Dallas is killed and we get in melee range.
Opening titles for this series are just awesome... seriously. Can you get chills from miniatures?? Love the painted minis, would blow my mind if the whole series had painting of this calibre. Maybe time to partner with some pro painters, Rodney? Surely they'd paint a set of SDE or SH for promotion on the show.
1: Flame 2: Sgt 3, 4, 5: Bolt Why the flamer in front you might ask? Were going to use him to open the doors leaving extra actions for the bolters. Flamer: A1: Open Door, A2: Diagonal Forward(→↓) A3/4: →x2 This leaves him in a position to open both closed door in the room for his squad next round. Sgt: →x4 I'm Thinking he'll fend best in the massive intersection near the console with overwatch or guard. Send 2x Bolt Along with the Sgt., while the last bolter holds the rear.
Line up: battle brother 1, Commander position 2, Heavy flamer position 3, battle brother 4, battle brother 5. Once in the next room send one battle brother to the bottom door and open it leave one there on over watch, move ahead with the same formation leave the last battle brother to cover the back.
I'd go 1. Bolter 2. Bolter 3. Sergeant 4. Flamer 5. Bolter First bolter marine moves to cover the back corridor. The rest move forward with bolter 2 covering on overwatch and the sergeant and flamer moving as a pair. Last bolter covers any holes. Ideally, we want one to cover the south back passage, one to cover from the north bend, sergeant covering the southward passage and the last bolter to cover the back of the sergeant towards the east. Flamer moves towards target.
Here are the names/order I think would work out best. 1 - Bolter - Cpt Dallas 2 - Sgt. Vasel 3 - Bolter - Pvt H Walters 4 - Flamer - Pvt Icarus 5 - Bolter - Pvt Ryan The idea is that hopefully you can have the first three models push on straight up the hall out of the first room. You have Pvt Ryan (who is almost certainly going to be eventually dragged down) set up on overwatch in the room to guard the rear. Sgt Vasel's combat toughness is going to be needed to clear the way up the hall.
Some tips from playing this scenario a lot lol - Shoot the doors off their hinges as soon as you can, or indeed open them. A Genestealer blip is not a friendly Genestealer. This is a Suicide Mission so don't be afraid to leave one of the marines hanging back to cover the first spawning room as its always tempting for aliens to leap out from behind you. The Flamer marine should be situated either one from the front or in the middle so he has access to the rooms but isn't in immediate danger.
The Sargent ability to deal with close combat means he should be in the front. The 3 storm bolters can be used to cover side corridors and the rear. Flamer needs to be protected and should remain in the middle. That being said, we should hold off on using his ammo until luke has had several rounds to spawn minions since we want to kill as many as we can with one shot, we wont need him round 1. So order from front to back: Sgt. then 3 bolters then flamer in the rear.
My vote, having played this scenario a few times and being a loyal Space Marine player in Warhammer 40,000 (and thus wanting them to win!) is for: 1. Storm bolter 2. Sergeant 3. Storm bolter 4. Heavy flamer 5. Storm bolter Tactical reasoning: 1st Storm bolter holds the south corridor, Sergeant covers long corridor then moves north (his close combat abilities compensating for the assault danger), 2nd Storm bolter covers the main long corridor once Sergeant is through, HF follows Sergeant!
Well since the Captain's name has already been decided my suggestions for the other four are: King for the flamer, with Knight, Rook, and Bishop for the storm bolters. No real tactical advice other than cover the flamer on both sides and spread the units out a little bit. Since units block line of sight it would be better to have a space or two between them if possible so WHEN (not IF) the first guard on either side dies the gene stealer has to waste more actions moving to attack the next.
2 stormbotlers, then flamer, then other stormbolter, and finally sgt. my tactic is simple: the group escorts the flamer to the target area. sgt turns around after the second door. he will back up then go on overwatch or guard, or if not necessary, back up another space.the pointman will be on overwatch. it will take some time to reach the objective, but your man will be well protected.
We can keep 1 space marine in the first room, turned to the side corridor and on overwatch for most of the game; he'll get rid of many genestealers and as long as we keep an action point to resolve weapon jams, he'll pretty much stop any genestealers from attacking our back. I think if we can get control of both the main corridor and the one to the side (with the door at the corner) we should win; but Luke can get his guys there fast so we might need the captain or flamer to break through.
Oh, I can't help myself. Given: Cpt. Dallas (Bolter 1) Flamer: Cpl. Simmons Bolter 2: Pvt. Tucker Bolter 3: Pvt. Church Sarge: Sgt. Grif Wonder if they would be mad that we borrowed their names.
Heavy Flamer: Brother Prometheus - Bolter #1: Brother Astramael - Bolter #2: Brother Cirino - Bolter #3: Brother Tiphon - Sgt: Brother Damocles. Some rather typical Blood Angel names there but hope they spark something :). Oh I also don't have any objection to one of them being called simply...Dave.
Order from 1 to 5: Sergeant, Marine, Flamer, Marine, Marine. Sergeant breaks the brunt open, two marines to cover the back and the flamer is well guarded and still had the ability to block corridors.
Name suggestions: Captain Dallas, Sergeant Spock, Sergeant Skywalker (the guy with the sword in one hand), Flamethrower Sergeant Heat, and Sergeant Roarke. I would think as far as the positioning goes, put the flamethrower guy in the middle so he has some protection on both sides. I will admit that I know nothing about this game (although I do enjoy the card game, tough as it is!)
I didn't catch if all marines had to get out or not, but leaving one marine behind in the first main room to guard that corridor might not be a bad idea. It would slow the approach of the enemy. Just one of the regulars would be ok.
Well, along with Dallas the other bolters should be Pvt. Hudson and Cpl. Hicks. The Flamer should be Pvt. Vasquez and the Sgt. should be Harvey Walters! My suggestion for the marching order: Sergeant Bolter 1 Flamer Bolter 2 Bolter 3
First, I agree with the caption, we need the Emperor's light to guide us...Luke should play for us XD! Second, one of the miniature is actually Angelos??? Really??? Then I suppose ironically the Blood Angels are suppose to win this scenario...
Is it me or does watching Rodneys fun videos make me want to buy board games..... LOTR LCG-Now own it 7 Wonders-Now own it Small World-On it's way! Thanks Rodney, your vids have helped me with my decision making and emptying my wallet :o)
Name the Flamer Donut The two Storm Bolts Griff and Simmons And the Sarge...well, call him Sarge. Bonus points to those who get the reference to another Red Team.
Name for a Space Marine: Sargent Castiel - Sargent Castiel couldn't believe his luck a chance to prove himself to the emperor and his fellow marines. After the losing his last squad to a band of traitor brethren, Castiel has been looked down on as a failure and rumours have started about where his loyalty lies.
Why not name the space marines after 40k figures because that's what they are from? 1. Sgt.Telion (board game) 2. Marine leandros (video game) 3. Flamer Drogan (video game) 4. Marine Thrax (video game) 5. Marine Sidonus (video game) I think they will die in the order 4. Marine Thrax 2. Marine Leandros 5. Marine Sidonus 3. Flamer Drogan 1. Sgt. Telion
my suggestion for names is simple, go back to your other videos and chose the mistakes you made in naming other champions or skills that you have failed to such as the smell knight from summoner wars or the tomato twister from D&D if i remember right and definitely HARVEY the karate old man. and of course there are other funny mistakes that can be used you know them best.

as for their names:
1. Gabriel Angelos (sergeant)
2. Davion Thule (flamer)
3. Atellus Raltus (marine)
4. Kaltos Callidon (marine)
5. Wolfe (marine)
That opening theme is awesome!
Great submissions for names, the only thing I could come up with was Michelangelo for the sole painted Marine :)
"Dallas? Corban Dallas?" ;) :D
HA! :-) Captain Dallas is borrowed from Alien... and since the Alien (aka xenomorph) is basically a gene stealer (melding with our DNA), it works. ;-)
also try to block those hallways as soon as you can, so the flamer can race to the computer.
Well, along with Dallas the other bolters should be Pvt. Hudson and Cpl. Hicks. The Flamer should be Pvt. Vasquez and the Sgt. should be Harvey Walters!
My suggestion for the marching order:
Sergeant
Bolter 1
Flamer
Bolter 2
Bolter 3

Private Chase Cunnings at your service! (I like that name)
Name the Flamer Donut
The two Storm Bolts Griff and Simmons

they need to reprint this game.. i love the warhammer 40k universe but there are not alot of board games out there with that theme on them :(
The heavy flamer should be general johnny walker

one guy should be named Rufus McGillicutty, perhaps the marine to lead us out
Why not name the space marines after 40k figures because that's what they are from?

1. Storm Bolter

3. Flamer
4. Storm Bolter
5. Storm Bolter
How about calling the flamer marine Luke in the hope that real Luke will avoid killing him (or at least leaving him till last)
hahaha first mission in the new game and did this mission and took my 2 trys to do its fun
Yeah, it's a good one!
1. Marine Cpt. Dallas
2. Marine Pvt Mad Dog
3. Sgt. Lynch
4. Flamer Pvt Firefly
5. Marine Pvt Dallas
I think you should name one of the marines Prince Edward...
Deffinately name one of them Harvey Walters!!! For obvious reasons :) &or Chase
P1 Marine Prvt John Connor
P2 Cpt Dallas
P3 Flamer Pvt John Ryan
P4 Marine Pvt John Carter
P5 Sgt John Rambo
And then get killed by his own teammate. Good job Zael.
