I've had an ebosser for a long time and it finally stopped working. Definitely wanted another electric cutting/embossing machine. This review helped me make up my mind. Thanks for sharing.
I love my BigShot and I'm not planning on exchanging it, but I could listen to you for hours and hours! What a relaxing tone of voice and great choice of words!!! I might have to put this video onto my favourites list just because of it! :D
The embossing debossing is stunning
I was in Spotlight at the weekend and didn't see this. I don't need one, I don't need one, I don't need one. Who am I kidding? Love it.
I just unpacked my Big Shot Switch and I can't wait to try it out. Thank you for all of the great ideas this is my very first die cut machine and I am so excited. Loved your video!
Just received my Switch machine and found your video very useful. I do love your card ideas and how to use the supplied starter kit. You explain everything very clearly too. Thank You.
I like the way you explain "why" you do things. Thankyou
Thank you so much for sharing this new die cutting machine.
Looking forward to getting one of these machines as I love the bigger opening compared to my current Big Shot. ADORE all the samples - you are very talented and inspiring. Love how well you explained everything.
Your voice sends me back to my 'Blue Peter' kids show days ... Next vlog please say ' ... and here's one I prepared earlier!'
😁 If you know you know! Some awesome ideas here thanks for sharing with us! ⭐️
Oh, such a lovely video and wonderful machine! You make it look so easy. I love the card examples. I am seriously considering this machine.
I love Sizzix!!! This is great!!! ❤️
I just saw this machine in Hobby Lobby in US. Didn’t know it was a brand new cutting machine. How exciting.
lovely machine; like the looks alot!
Forget it! I bought a Spellbinders Platinum machine, and I love it.
wunderschoene Karten, danke für die Inspiration
Went to pick up my new machine today. Love the new color. 💛🧡💛 Die cutting party now.🥳
a game changer for sure!
Please do a video on how to make the little books! I love those, and I recently bought this same bundle.
I put in my order!
I was interested but no answers to any questions at all? I think I’ll look at a different brand.
Hi Rebecca. By reading other comments and replies, it sounds like this is a video put out by this Spotlight craft store in Australia and not from Sizzix company itself. So try contacting the Sizzix website before you give up on this brand. I’ve been very happy with the support I’ve received by Sizzix brand themselves. Good luck getting the information you want. Hope this helps you.
Great video, Loved watching you demonstrate. Those hexagon cards you did are brilliant I’m new to Sizzix machines and that machine looks fab, having the instructions and diagrams on the plates is fantastic As I keep forgetting what sandwiches to do with what. love that 3D embossing Folder too. How do you manage with the pressure of the cut on this machine?
Hi, the Switch has excellent pressure so 3D embossing is not a problem
So much nicer than my machine that takes up so much room and then a ridiculous amount of room for a small embossing folder! Bye bye big shot!
My husband got me one for Christmas and I love mine , I had the big shot before and due to lymphoedema in my arm I needed a automatic machine. It’s not overly noisy and I think it’s fast. The only thing is I think the plates have warped faster than I expected them too but when I replace them I will get the magic plates as I had them for my Big Shot and they were brilliant.
Will the machine automatically shut off if the sandwich is too big?
@@brendakuder2957 if your sandwich does not fit the machine will automatically reverse out
@@kathyhutchinson3058 Thank you! I have the ebosser which is still going strong. If it gives out I think I will probably go with this machine.
I have lymphedema in my arm too so maybe I should see if it is good for me.
I have purchased this machine and so far so good, I have a question though. as mentioned in relation to different size cutting pads can be used does that include the platform? I have a big shot magnetic platform am I able to use that in my switch?
Hi Kellie, yes, the magnetic platform is compatible with the Switch, as is the precision base plate and cutting pads.
I love mine, but sometimes it stops and the on switch starts flashing, and the plates are stuck. I hold down the button until it reverses. Is this the correct t thing to do? I thought the plates weren’t supposed to go in at all if the sandwich was incorrect. I am thrilled to be able to use all my dies and plates.
As long as my big shot, Sidekick and two other brands cutting machines are working and I am able to turn them I wont buy an electronic cutting machine. Its possible to save electricity, for people who need this help its fine to be able to craft on.
I wonder why Sizzix named it Switch. There is already a Switch, from Nintendo.
I still have my old very first Sizzix. Red, with lever.
Thank you Sizzix for all the amazing crafting tools you are constructing for us crafters.
I want this machine and am just waiting for reviews and a two questions answered: (1) Do the mats warp and can I use the alternative self-healing mats? (2) Can I use magnetic mats to hold dies in place or will that wreak havoc on the electronics?
Hi, abcameo, As standard with our cutting pads, they are consumables and therefore over time will mark, warp etc but this is completely normal. We can’t advise on if self healing mats can work as we don’t stock these ourselves and therefore haven’t tested. Yes, you can use the magnetic platform in the machine.
@@spotlightmediacentre Thank you. Much appreciated.
Just got the Switch machine and it came with an A plate that is clear. Can this take the place of the A adapter plate?
Is this available in New Zealand Spotlight stores?.
I would like to see what happens when you run something through once without your pulling on the sandwich. Does it pop out on the other side without help?
I have a question can we do hot foiling with this machine I am hoping so have a few questions about your new machine it looks different it got a make up from the one I seen at a show thanks for answering my question about the hot foiling in advance
Hi Earline, we recommend contacting the manufacturer of the hot foils for more information.
When will it be Available at the Stores or Website and How Much is it $$$.
I’ve had nothing but trouble with my new switch plus.
Where is the fabric demonstration? I only use the manual one with BIGZ and fabric.....so not tempted yet
Hi I'm in Australia and have had my switch for about 6 weeks. It's so easy to use and quite I've used my platforms and plates from my big shot . The only problem l have is when using my old plates it does not always go through the machine . Is it because the new plates have bevelled ends? looking forward to seeing more videos .
Hi Patricia, the machine is compatible with Sizzix cutting plates so this shouldn’t be an issue.
will this cut fabric and smaller thinner quilt fabric?
Hello, I want to buy this electric one, but I am very worried. Does it cut felt and are you satisfied with the machine?
I love my big shot, but an electric machine would be wonderful on my hands! Can I use my big shot plates on this even if they are smaller?
Hi Kathy, yes, you can use their standard plates in the Switch
Can it deboss a book cover?
Oh please do a tut on how to make those lovely cards... I have just placed my order :D
Hi Pete, will this machine be available to purchase in the rest of the world? I am in dubai and hope that it will be available for purchase soon.
Good question
How big of a cut wide is this?
Can you use the glimmer machine with the switch?
Hi Debra, we recommend speaking with the manufactuer of the Glimmer machine for more information.
Is this machine available in Australia.
would this work on fabric?
Is the rate of warping wear and tear the same as the Vagabond 2? I am so frustrated that my cutting pads warp significantly on the very first cut. Can we expect this to be less of an issue with your latest technology? What is the US cost of Switch’s cutting pads, please? Your Loyal Customer, Mary, NY
I haven’t had any warping since I stopped using the magnetic plates.
I wished they bring back those die cutting plates that they used in the Grand Calibur die cutting machines. Those never warped and cut great.
@@momsmanykards364 they probably wont. It doesn't make them money, if things last.
i started using one mat to cut into and one mat that is always on top. Also I have learned to hold down the end as it is feeding into the machine, which prevents it from riding up and flapping - makes a big difference
I purchased a Switch Machine from Hobby Lobby. It didn’t come with a metal shim. Wondering if an existing metal shim is compatible?
Hi Teresa, a metal shim is not needed for use of the Switch machine. If they are cutting very intricate dies we’d recommend using the precision base plate.
We hope ist will be in Germany soon.
I bought mine today, It has done as I expected in cutting etc, however the clear plates has immediately been damaged by the dies supplied and the plate warped.
There is also no warranty in the packaging with the machine . I am considering taking it back.
Never had a manual big shot Is this a normal thing ?
Yes it’s normal. The plates are a consumable product and will get cut up. Dies are cutting blades so it’s to be expected.
Warping can be lessened by rotating the mats.
Hi Elizabeth, It’s completely normal for the plates to mark, this should not be seen as a concern. The warranty information should be on a leaflet in the box or on the bottom of the box.
Can this machine take the largest dies that the big shot can't? OK, Tim Holtz and Stacey of Scrapbooking Made Simple answered this question. Yes it will, in case anybody else is wondering!
What is the difference between the switch and switch plus?
Hi Deana, there is only a Big Shot Switch Plus Machine.
Can i design a deboss using computer then the deboss come out?
This is not a machine that hooks up to the computer.
Would have been nice if it had been explained at the start of the video that this was the release of the machine in Australia! I got excited because I'm waiting for the UK release.
I’m looking for it here in the USA
@@BelindaBecerra, I bought a Switch Plus today at a Hobby Lobby. It's a Coral color.
@@pamelatetreault4294 can you please tell me how big the opening of this machine is? Is it bigger than the 6 inch opening of the Sizzix Big Shot/Big Kick? Thank you.
@@lindascraftsandthings915I saw in another video that the opening is the size of a Big Shot Plus.
@@ShermaBurgins thank you! 😊
Please help me I bought a sizzix switch six months ago. It broke and a white plastic bar shot out of it. I’m confused maybe it’s operators fault. But I have trouble with my hands and this was a godsend. Can it be fixed or do I send it back or get a new one. I’m 77 and on a fixed income . Can’t afford to but it again. Please help
Hi there! We recommend returning the machine to your local store with the receipt for assessment by our team.
When will it be available for sale in Canada?
My local craft store in Ontario is taking pre-orders for it now.
Hi Isobel, please check with your local stockist for more information.
I'm loving my new Sizzix Big Shot SWITCH plus, BUT...I would like to order 4 more cutting plates as I'm finding I've already used one of two. It's bent and not making the machine happy when gliding thru. Frightened it shall break the machine, being so bent.
PLEAS PLEASE contact me to order more. I have tried everything to do this, but without success.
Hi Gwenyth, we recommend speaking to your local store to see if a special order can be placed.
Is this plate an a4 size?
Hi, It’s an A4/9 inch cut
How much is this machine in UK?
Hi Jan, please check with your local stockist for more information.
Have a nice good health new Year 22
Hi can I get this in the UK yet please.
Hi Caroline, please check with your local stockist for more information.
It is on Create and Craft Friday 28th January
So, when do these hit the USA?
Purchased at Hobby Lobby last Friday
@@scrap4family I’ll have to see if mine carries it. Thanks
WHEN AVAILABLE IN AMERICA?
Hi Tammy, please check with your local stockist for more information.
I have the same question as others. When is it coming to the US? And how much? Was this you tube not meant to be?
Did this you tube come across as a mistake?
I purchase one from Hobby Lobby. The color is Sorbet. They had it on clearance. Which surprised me. It’s quiet and cuts beautifully. I haven’t tried it with dies from other brands.
@@scrap4family they had it on clearance?? wow! I just head over to Hobby Lobby
When this wonderful new machine will be sold in USA?
, I bought one today at Hobbby Lobby. It's Coral in color.
I want to see it stop on its own
If you are going to showcase a new product for viewers to see....would you give us the care & attention & respect we give you by having someone there take a moment & answer your viewer's questions. Seriously disprespectful to do as you have....10 days with Kellie Skinner's question &
30 seconds was not given to appreciate her concern & desire for knowledge/understanding to better help her know if this was right for her...and to many of us who watched & also might desire to know things relating to the product & your experience as well... Is that not what the making of a video is for...your viewing audience to take an interest in what you are doing & your desiring to see/hear & embrace their reactions to your presentation? Not one question has been acknowledged as received or even appreciated for taking the time to respond to your presentation for us all
... In this time in our world...care and respect should be above board....and beyond... period. It actually hurts to see the lack of care & respect or perhaps desire to embrace those who are giving of their time & support to you & something that appeared of value that you wanted us to embrace through you. Lastly...I hope...truly...that you are not burdened or suffering in a way you cannot be here or have someone close to you post to let us know. Well wishes for us all are at the heart of my emotions /concern in voicing this. Best wishes for wellness.,
Yep, that’s Spotlight. All about sales, not service. They’ve smashed the craft business in Australia so there are practically no other craft store options. They make out their prices are the best but look closely and you’ll see they are not.

How much does it weigh?
Mine is quite heavy
Hi, the machine weighs 8kg
@@spotlightmediacentre Thank you
Cant hear very well, need mic on
Gosh it’s so slow
$439.99 CAD? Common, guys!
That’s ridiculous . I’ll keep my Gemini Jr.
Have both of my volumes on high. Please talk louder. Thanks.
I could not hear him, even with both volumes all the way up
This would have been more enjoyable if you had a speaker on. It was hard to understand you all the video.
need a mike to be able to hear you
Too bad you all didn't upgrade it to do a 12 x12...won't buy it cause it's not anything I already can do w my other machines...
Nope! Not a chance.
After the way Sizzix treated their designers with a frivolous lawsuit, I’ll never buy another sizzix product. It’s all about greed. There are better electronic machines on the market.
I was thinking the same thing! I would tell someone to buy a Gemini from Crafters Companion.
Erm...nope. I'll stick to the Bigshot Pro and Baby Bigshot.
Sound is bad. :(
