I bought the Ulysse Nardin maxi marine diver titanium bezel with a stainless bracelet new probably 8 years ago. I love this watch so much that I almost never put on anyone of my other mechanical watches. This watch is on my wrist every day. Truly exceptional quality. Best purchase of a watch I’ve ever made. 👍🏻
I think UN is underrated, and that dial is just beautiful. Did you know they make their own enamel dials? That's what it looks like to me on the screen.
Ulysse Nardin is definitely one of the top Swiss timepiece manufacturers. The dial does look amazing on this reference. I think that UN has a weird reputation because some of their references are hideous, from an appearance perspective. That doesn’t mean that they’re still not top-quality though. The dial on my Maxi Marine Diver has a quilted look in strong sunlight.
If you like Ulysse Nardin, you should look at Girard Perregaux. There were both bought from the Kering group 2017-2018 by the same guy/group. I'm a big fan of the Girard Perregaux Laureato
I got a blue and yellow gold ulysse nardin marine chronometer and a sd43 seadweller. Both are excellent but the ulysse wouldn't be easy to sell, I also got a hugh discount on my new ulysse and I'm not looking to sell it anyway.
UN is definitely a buy, wear, enjoy and keep. I bought my UN new at the AD and negotiated a steep discount. They’re definitely a tier above Rolex but their resale value is in the gutter.
Im happy you’re so great that you have a lot of dicipline. But there’s also people thay live in tropic climates or retain more/less water throughout the day. In those cases the glidelock is very practical
I dont think ulysse nardin is underated,i think they are a little too expensive, every luxury brand think being mkre expensive than rolex give them more credibility, like jaeger lecoultre who is sooo expensive today, breguet, blanclain, ulysse nardin,etc...i think they could be mkremafordable, because yes they are good, nice, elegant and very well made watches but why try to be just expensive?
If I hadn’t negotiated a steep discount at the AD, I wouldn’t have purchased UN. At today’s prices, UN is off of the table for me but I love my Maxi Marine Diver. It’s unique, well-finished and I’ll likely never see another one like it in the wild. Jaeger LeCoultre is priced through the stratosphere nowadays. I’m glad that I purchased my Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control on stainless at the AD for a hefty discount many years ago. Jaeger LeCoultre today is priced how Patek was back then. It’s nuts! Now we’re seeing brands like Longines releasing some convincing pieces but they’re in line price-wise now of what Rolex was many years ago. Unless one of my ventures becomes insanely profitable, I’m content with my deeply-discounted rotation. Prices for mid - high horology pieces nowadays are simply out of control and I don’t see them correcting, due to the annual increases from the top manufacturers. That’s good for value retention but has forced a lot of collectors like myself out of the game. I don’t want to collect second or third-tier watches, even though I do like some of Longines’ latest references but they’d have to be priced 50% less or greater to make me pounce!
@@IrixGuy yes, exactly,i dont want too collect longine,i prefere like you very famous brand,i am a big fan of ulysse nardin...can you tell me if the acuracy of the ulysse is between 2 or 4 seconds per day like rolex? Because i am tired of some watches like frederique constant or my eterna, very nice but who loose 20 seconds per day, they are too expensive for dont give us minimum a good acuracy no?
I only wear suits for business and have several Cornelliani, Zegna, Versace and Armani Collezioni suits. I wear watch es while sporting flip-flops and a t-shirt though.
I have a Ulysses Nardin marine chronometer in two tone- blue and rose gold, 43mm with roman numerals. I can surely attest it looks more original in its design and also aesthetically for superior to my Rolex yacht master black dial with black rubber strap. UN is very underrated.
That’s awesome! It was actually the ‘2000s era Yachtmaster that I was considering when I purchase the UN. The UN looks a lot more high-end than the YachtMaster and it’s definitely a lot less common in the wild. To be frank, I have only crossed paths with one person wearing UN and it was an interesting conversation.
Own a subby and a sea dweller. Have owned a UN maxi marine. The Rolex has a more refined movement, superior crown feel, brand recognition, etc. The UN dial and crystal clarity is better. Better looking over all. Bracelet is far superior despite the lack of adjustment sadly. Can buy a UN much cheaper on second hand market. Can service the ETA movement with less drama than a Rolex. Selling my Rolexes actually and buying this UN. If you want a cheaper alternative again, the Oris Aquis or titans are even better value and easy to service and own.
I agree with all points except for the crown feel. I find the crown feel of the UN to be superior to my Submariner and definitely far superior to the crown on my OP.

Ulysse Nardin is definitely a not h above most other wristwatch brands! I also like how I seldom encounter people wearing UN.
Had a UN since 2011. Services every 3years and still turns heads. Every man and his dog has a Rolex
Which reference? UN is awesome and is definitely a tier above Rolex.

I've never handled one in-person but Laureato looks excellent!
Not easy to rhyme Ulysse Nardin in a song. Once someone figures that out, it will take off like wildfire.
LOL very true!
I got you fam:
Here are some rhymes for "Ulysse Nardin": garden, harden, pardon, carton, Spartan, bargain, carbon, jargon, margin etc

I wish this guy would have said “and shit..” at the end of a few sentences. He’s got the accent for it.
Awwww schucks……yeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaawwwwwwwww!!!!!

I love that Ulysse Nardin man
Thanks! The dial is what sold it for me.
I have the same with burgundy dial, but it's on a rubber strap:)
Im happy you’re so great that you have a lot of dicipline. But there’s also people thay live in tropic climates or retain more/less water throughout the day. In those cases the glidelock is very practical
That’s certainly a great reason to have GlideLock!
Nardin > Rolex. Not a Rolex guy at all. Just too obvious. I'll take IWC, Ulysse, and Kurono Tokyo over it every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Rolex uses a higher grade stainless steel but UN blows Rolex out of the water with case and dial finishings.
Just looked up Kurono. Those are badass
Love the dial color on the UN.
Thanks! That’s what makes the UN so unique! #UN

Awesome statement pieces... Love-em bolth !!
Thanks so much!
The UN is also a single case. No, the lugs haven’t been attached.
Thanks! For some reasons the lugs look like separate pieces. I guess that was how they finished the case.
glide lock is to expand the watch when wearing a wet suit for a perfect fit. Guess u don't dive w/ that watch
That is one use case but the other is heavy eating and/or drinking that temporarily bloats the wrist.
Sell one & buy a decent suit. It's required here.
I only wear suits for business and have several Cornelliani, Zegna, Versace and Armani Collezioni suits. I wear watch es while sporting flip-flops and a t-shirt though.
Never heard of
You-lee-see nar-din
It's pronounced
Oo- lis nar-da
Thank you! That sounds completely different than what I thought it did. How about Jaeger LeCoultre?

@Luke Spector you been smoking the blue veined Havana
You can't compare because the one that's made in le locle is in a class of its own.
Ulysse Nardin’s dials and overall finishings are next-level. With that said, this is still a super capable dive watch. #UN
what's going on with your thumb man?
