AA Shells (lvl 7) and Ionic Force Field (lvl 13) have a high win rate together because AA Shells makes Nova's autoattack cooldown almost as long as her permanent cloak's, which means that she can keep going into stealth and immediately going out of it by attacking, giving her almost permanent 25 armor. Yes, going Q or the other AA talent at 7 gives her higher dps, but greater damage numbers does not really mean it's better or win harder. Here's the basics: You upen up with a W which, due to Longshot (lvl 1) grants your next AA extra range (to around 8.5!). That next AA deals almost triple the damage it normally would due to AA Shells (lvl 7) and reduces physical armor by 15. Doing so decloaks you, giving you 25 armor for 3 seconds. You top it off with a Q and maybe an R, and retreat. 3 seconds later, you're cloaked again and can come in for another AA, which again deals a lot of damage, gives you 25 armor and reduces physical armor. Since you only attack once every 3 seconds, at either 6.5 or 8.5 range, with 25 armor permanently, you're pretty much a burstier Raynor with just slightly less dps, but who puts itself in danger SIGNIFICANTLY LESS OFTEN. Yes, I know Nova is, still, not that good. She still needs a significant overhaul to be a Good hero. But people sleep really hard on her AA Shells + Ionic Force Field build. It works, if you want a ranged autoattacker who puts herself in less danger than any other (except Hanzo, who actually has a decent escape).
